Band
History
A Tulsa, Oklahoma
based band formed
in 1995 under the moniker Akeldama.
Formed by Killian Thorn (Guitars, Vocals) and
Lord Gideon (All Vocals), they landed a brief
record deal with indie, "Cue Last Image
Records". However disputes among the
band members and label, cut efforts short.
By 1996, Killian Thorn and Lord Gideon, were
playing in a power metal outfit known as
Crucified Heart. Unfortunately, all
efforts were once again in vain. By late
1996, they went their separate ways.
Killian Thorn joined a secular band,
Devout Regime, and backslid from the
Lord. Lord Gideon quit playing altogether
until 1999.
After many
attempts and
failures to
put together a band, (dozens of different
band members, playing in one secular band
after another, changing band styles between
gothic/punk/alternative/black metal) Killian
Thorn broke through it all. In the spring
of 1999, he made Jesus Lord of his whole
life. He was born a new Christian with a
new fire for evangelism through music. And
behold, Mournful Vengeance was born
with a united front of Lord Gideon and
Killian Thorn, with other members to be named
soon.
