9 Part Tale : Part one

"Not The Little Green Pills!!"

~Dani Mulder

Margaret Ann Mulder awoke from a deep sleep to find herself on a hard, metal examination table. A simple white sheet covered her. A bright light over her eyes made her wince. A searing pain in her neck made her groan. Then she realized where she was. She had been there many times before.

"Sarah?" she called, her voice growing incresinly hysterical. "Sarah?"

"Maggs?" Sarah called back.

Maggie breathed a sigh of relief. "How did we get here?" she asked, unable to move her neck.

"I'm willing to bet the damn pills were ground up in some of our food." Sarah sighed.

"The pizza," Maggie said in realization. "Remember a while back when we ordered Chinese and we got a pizza and ate it and got hives?"

"Oh yeah," Sarah said glumly. "Where did they experiment on you?"

"Neck, I think," Maggie said. "You?"

"My foot is killing me, so is my right elbow."

"Damnation," Maggie sighed.

"Bloody hell," Sarah agreed, then started to scream at the top of her lungs.

"WHAT?" Maggie screamed.

"Nothing," Sarah said coyly with a smile that Maggie couldn't see.

"Damn you to hell and back!" Maggie yelled.

For the next two hours and sixty minutes (as if I would say that numberŠ), they sang songs from Rent to entertain themselves, slightly altering the words.

"The government gave us the pills," Maggie said.

"Those fucks!" Sarah cried.

"They don't know what they're doing, the aliens are testing on us, but nothings happening we're just sitting here mooing!"

"MOOOOOOO!!!" they screamed in unison.

Suddenly, it all went black.

Maggie and Sarah woke up in their beds. Sarah opened her eyes to see Missy peering down at her with her eyes bright. "Sarah-belly," she sang out, unable to say 'bellum'.

"Missy," groaned Sarah. "Go get Mom and Dad."

"Geen pills," Missy said wisely.

Sarah heard Samantha somewhere over by Maggie's bed saying something about bananas and angels. "Shut up, Sam," Maggie said. "We've been tested on, we're weak and feable right now."

"The toaster died," Missy said.

In a flash, Maggie and Sarah were up and running full speed down to the kitchen, injuries and all. The toaster stood brightly, shining in all its' glory. Samantha laughed. "Dummies," she said.
