Drew, like in Ever After, doesn't do too horrible on the accent. Although this time it's a New York accent it sounds a bit more like an
accident. Other than the 'accident' Drew does a really good job as Amy Fisher and the story of the events between her and the Buttafuoco's is depicted
well from this made for TV movie. The one that aired on the TV is different from the rented one because the rented one has "new R rated scenes not made for television" or so blockbuster says.
If you don't already know this true story of Amy Fisher, here goes, in a nutshell so to speak...
Amy Fisher was a rebellious 17 year old girl; an only child and spoiled she got everything she wanted. And if she didn't she got mad.. or even.
For her 16th birthday she got a new car and when she crashed it the first time, fell in love or.. lust, with the family's mechanic, Joey Buttafuoco. According to Amy Fisher they had a sexual romantic relationship which Joey denies ever happening. She becomes obsessed with Joey and he pimps her off to his friends and such and makes money off of her.
One day she wants to get rid of Mary Jo Buttafuoco, Joey's wife. She gets her hands on a gun and shoots her by luring her out of her house and telling her that her (fictiscious) "14 year old little sister" is having an affair with Mr. Buttafuoco and it's sick. Mary Jo doesn't believe her, Amy shoots her but Mary Jo doesn't die. Amy goes to jail from June 2 (i do believe) 1992 until sometime in 1999 (she was recently released from jail) for the shooting and attempted murder of Mary Jo Buttafuoco.
I recommend this movie to anyone interested in true stories about girls who get out of hand..
