June 20:
Finally some news on Rene's condition. This was part of the translated Review from Paris newspapers after Celine's show yesterday. She performs at the Stade de France again tonight.
Céline Dion is on the point of giving the largest spectacle of any Québécois in France BY MICHEL DOLBEC PARIS (PC) - "Rene is well! " While hearing these threewords from the mouth of Céline Dion Saturday evening, the public at the Stadede France jumped to their feet givingthe husband of the star a tremendous ovation. A large wave of emotion then broke out on the great stage,.... René Angelil could see and hear on line at his place this testimony of affection from the French public. He indeed followed the concert (like the two previous in Amsterdam and Brussels)thanks to a private direct satellite connection. "This wave of love, it is being felt as far away as Florida, where he's now sitting in comfort in his sofa," revealed Céline Dion, causing a new ovation. Then addressing her husband directly: "My love, I love you, we love you, we are with you!" In his entourage, one announced Saturday evening that René Angelil has reacted better and better to the treatments and that he has started again talking shop with his collaborators. He will find his wife back with him Monday night: Céline Dion will be jumping in a jet at of the end of her second concert at the Stade de France,this evening.
So there you have it! Good news, finally! GO RENE!
June 15:
I'm Your Angel drops to number 19 on the Adult Contemporary Charts this week, and The Prayer falls off the chart. Celine's tour re-started yesterday, therefore our prayers about Rene must have been answered. So cheers to the good news, and to Celine, Rene, and the life they will share while she's on break. I also took some of the older news out, while leaving the press release in case you didn't get to see it.

Celine Wins Yet Another Award
Once again, Celine has been given an award. This time it is a Blockbuster Entertainment Award!
I won't give away which one yet; the show hasn't aired... so watch the show when it
airs on June 16th on the FOX network.Check your local listings for time and channel.

Celine cancels part of her European tour

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- TUESDAY, MAY 4, 1999:
PORTION OF CELINE EUROPEAN TOUR TO BE CANCELLED -- ARTIST WILL REMAIN WITH HUSBAND DURING CANCER TREATMENT
1999 -- It was confirmed in London today that Celine Dion will miss several cities on her forthcoming European Tour so that she can remain by her husband's side as he undergoes treatment and recuperation for cancer detected several weeks ago.
Mr. Angelil's treatment process coincides with dates on the tour in Dublin, Belfast, Birmingham, Frankfurt, Gothenberg, Vienna, Cologne, Lyon and Marseille -- thereby making it impossible for Celine to appear everywhere as she had originally hoped.
Due to venue commitments throughout the summer, efforts by Celine to reschedule these cities have been unsuccessful. "This is the most difficult time in my life. My fans have always been a very big part of everything I do and I am so sorry to disappoint them, but Rene is naturally my first priority," the singer said in a statement today. "I don't know when I will be touring Europe again, but when I do, I will do everything possible to include the cities which I miss this time around."
The amended tour will now be as follows:
Monday June 14 - Amsterdam
Wednesday June 16 - Brussels
Saturday June 19 - Paris
Sunday June 20 - Paris
Thursday July 1 - Zurich
Saturday July 3 - Munich
Tuesday July 6 - Sheffield
Thursday July 8 - Edinburgh
Saturday July 10 - London
Sunday July 11 - London
Refunds for shows that are unavailable to be presented as originally scheduled will be available at point of purchase at a time to be identified by the local promoter in question.

Celine reschedules some Canadian dates, here's the buzz:
Celine's postponed Canadian tour dates have been rescheduled. Here are the details:
The Toronto shows at the Air Canada Centre have been rescheduled for Friday, September 17 and Saturday, September 18, 1999, respectively. Celine was also scheduled to perform on Sunday, May 2 in Ottawa at the Corel Centre. This performance will now take place on Monday, September 13, 1999.
Tickets previously purchased for Thursday, April 29 will only be honoured on Friday September 17 and tickets previously purchased for Friday, April 30 will only be honoured on Saturday, September 18, 1999. All tickets purchased for May 2, will be honored on September 13, 1999.
If necessary, refunds will be offered at point of purchase until the original performance date printed on the tickets.
Just got some more rescheduled dates for Celine's Canadian concerts. They are as follows:
Montreal May 6 -- September 8
Montreal May 7 -- September 9
Quebec City May 4 -- September 11

Celine has unfortunately had to postpone some North American tour dates. Below is an official press release:

CELINE DION'S HUSBAND/MANAGER, RENE ANGELIL, DOING WELL AFTER SURGERY;
ARTIST WILL POSTPONE SEVERAL NORTH AMERICAN DATES
While Celine Dion was on tour in Dallas last week, her husband and manager, René Angelil, was briefly hospitalized there for a surgical procedure.
Dion's husband was under the care of highly respected Dallas physician, Dr. Robert M. Steckler. Dr. Steckler had this to say about the surgery, "Mr. Angelil has had surgery performed for Squamous Cell Carcinoma Metastatic to his right neck. He has tolerated the procedure very well and his prognosis is excellent." Mr. Angelil was released from the hospital last week and will undergo 6 weeks of radiation therapy.
Earlier today, Celine released this statement: "Obviously, this is a very delicate time for René and I, but we have been blessed with some of the best medical attention in the world. René is the biggest priority in my life and I want to be by his side as he continues his treatment. I hope my fans will understand and support me in this difficult situation."
The scheduled concerts from April 13th through May 7th inclusively will be rescheduled to the Fall season and the new dates will be announced imminently in each individual market.
