Frequentlly Asked Questions

Q:What is the Animation Master 3D Ring?

A: The Animation Master 3D Ring is a virtual Animation Master 3D club consisting of many Hash Inc.'s Animation Master users' web sites and gallerys linked together in a virtual ring. This makes it possible for someone to go directly from on member's website to another's site and continue all the way around the ring back to his/her starting website. It is also possible to go from any one of the membersites directly to the Animation Master 3D Ring homepage.

Q:How do I join the Animation Master 3D Ring?

The Animation Master 3D Ring is open to all users of Hash Inc.'s Animation Master who have a website and display 3D images and/or animations produced in Animation Master. Your images must be produced in Hash Inc.'s Animation Master software regardless of platform. To join the Animation Master 3D Ring, use the form found on the join page(located on the nav bar to the left). The HTML code to be included in your page will be e-mailed to you and you can cut and paste it on your page. The AM 3D Ring button must be displayed on the page that you have linked to the AM 3D Ring. As long as it is located on the page you have officially linked to the AM 3D Ring you may also place the logo and/or links on other pages of your site. There is one exception to the above rule: if the linked page is not your main page and is only an intro page that the visitor has to go through to get to your main page or automatically transfers the visitor to your main page, you would better be served to put the AM 3D Ring button on the main page of your site. Basically the AM 3D Ring button needs to be placed in an easy to find place so any visitors to your site have no trouble finding it. Also, if your site uses frames make sure that the AM 3D Ring links open a new window or breaks out of your frameset, nothing is more annoying than being "trapped" in someone's frameset. When you join the ring, you first add your site to a queue. You are then given a unique site ID number for your site, which you can use to add whatever html code is necessary for the AM 3D Ring. Once your site is ready to go with the proper links and the AM 3D Ring button, simply ask the Ringmanager (Matthew Shadinger) to add you to the ring.

The queue only serves as a temporary storage area for site information while the AM 3D Ring applicant makes changes to their homepage. This allows new people to join the ring without ever having any down time where the ring isn't totally operational.

Q:I filled out the form now what?

A: After you have filled out the form, your site will be placed into the queue. Follow the directions on Yahoo then e-mail the ringmaster. Make sure you give the name of your site in your email, this will help me find your site more quickly if there are several in the que.

Q:I've pasted the code from yahoo, but it doesn't seem to be working?

A: The most common reason is that I have not added you yet. The code is all based on Yahoo's servers so untill I add to the ring it looks like it's missing the links. If nothing is showing up at all, you have left something out of the code or you typed/pasted it in incorrectly.

Q:How long does it take to get added to the ring?

A: That will depend on how busy I am during the time you submit your request to be added, it will also depend on the number other requests I receive. Normally it should take no more that 1 week to 10 days. I will notify you once you have been added. Before you ask me to add you to the ring please make sure your site has the following:

  • Make sure that the site id number is correct.
  • Make sure the site contains the correct code that you from Yahoo.
  • Make sure that the site contents are suitable and in accordance to the Animation Master 3D Ring requirements.
  • Make sure you notify me that you have the code in place.
Please make sure your site has content that was created in Hash Inc's Animation:Master. Sites will not be admited if they are "Under Construction" when they join the ring, however if your site goes "Under Construction" after you have been admited to the ring you will be ok.

Q:I have placed the code onto my home page, but whenever I click onto one of the links it opens inside of one of the frames on my pages and I do not know how to change the "HTMLfragment" to make it open a new window. What should I do?

A: Dude you're trippin, or somehow you got ahold of the old code that I used when it was just Webring not Yahoo Webring. Use the code from Yahoo, less headaches that way.
