DMZ Events & Uncharted Territories presents, ENTERPRISE

Enterprise  was held on the 2nd of December 2001.

Enterprise was a fantastic event for everyone who attended. It was full of everything conventions are made of (Except Dealers who decided not to bother showing up). Over 100 People from all over Ireland, North and South attended the one day event in the Royal Marine Hotel in Dun Laoghaire. There where episodes from the new series shown on a massive projection screen in the main hall. It started off though with the finale of Voyager. The Opening Ceremony had a short video introduction specially filmed with our guest, Vaughn Armstrong, Thanking everyone for coming and saying that he was looking forward to meeting everyone later in the day.

At around 2pm Vaughn arrived on stage for his guest talk. He spoke a little about his life growing up in Fellony Flats, a slang term for the rough area where he lived as a kid, As well as How, When and Why he got into acting. The why being Money and Girls, which got a great laugh from the audience. The audience had their chance to ask Vaughn questions about himself and his many experiences on the many shows and films he's been in. Most questions seemed ask about how he was able to work in all that make-up. One of the funniest answers to a question was when someone asked if he had ever made any mistakes on set. "Not realy" said Vaughn as he is never on set for long when he shoots his scenes. He did however mention that he once Broke a Multi-Million Dollar Helicopter during the shooting of Clear and Present Danger by pushing the button for the emergency door and blowing out the explosive bolts, OOPS!

Everyone who came to see Vaughn's talk where treated to something very special, a rendition of ENTERPRISE BLUES, a song written by Vaughn all about his characters on all the Trek shows he has worked on. He sang whilst playing the Harmonica and a Ukulele which he received as a birthday gift. We hope to maybe get a sound bite of it on the site at some point.

There was a chance for attendees to have their picture taken with our guest and have it signed by Vaughn and ready for them to collect by the end of the day.
