In the BMW Rogue looked at her then at the expensive car. The Air conditioning was the only sound and it was almost deafening. She watched her carefully but Hayley seemed to be far away. She seemed to retreat into herself, as if wrestling with a conflict. Rogue looked at her. Hayley was finishing her cigarette. "Are you rich? I mean all four of you?" She asked.
"Guess so." Hayley mumbled as she shifted gears down. Then she watched Logan take off in a different direction.
"What upset you?"
"You mean besides the fact that somebody broke into my house?"
Rogue nodded. She wasn't scared of Hayley and felt comfortable with her.
"Criminy kid you are nosy." She laughed at Rogue.
"My name's Rogue." She mumbled. "Not kid."
"Hmmm." She was watching the road and thinking about Ally and Logan.
"Whose car is this?"
"Ally's"
"I bet the red one is yours, the corvette."
"Uh-huh."
"Are Ally and Logan in love." She finally blurted out.
"Bloody Hell, you ask a lot of questions." Hayley snapped at her. She could see that this took Rogue back. She seemed to retreat back into herself.
She sighed and looked at Rogue feeling a little guilty. "Look when you are born a triplet and a telepath, there is always someone in your head and you don't need to talk a lot. A lot goes unspoken between us, because we already know." She started and glanced at Rogue and saw her relax a little more." Like between Logan and Ally, they know each other really well and don't have to spell everything out."
Rogue nodded and sat up straighter.
"Questions you have about Ally and Logan should be directed to them." Hayley smiled at her.
"Why are you so much like Logan?" Rogue asked her.
"We are not." Hayley protested.
Rogue backed off she could see Hayley and her far away look again as she speed up and down for the turns. She suddenly noticed they weren't slowing down.
"Shouldn't you slow down?" she asked when she was finally scared enough of Hayley's driving.
"Kid, hang on to your ass," Hayley went even faster.
'Now I know why Logan didn't let her drive here, but we are making good time." Rogue thought. She couldn't help but to look at Hayley helplessly.

Logan finished at the dry-cleaners and started back towards his jeep as readied his keys. He smiled to himself and hoped Ally would be happy. He now remembered how he had first met her and her family. He had never met anybody like her before. She and her family all seemed to have the telepathic gift. She helped Logan with some lost memories then too. He had noticed had she began to hate the gift and wanted to be normal. She strived for normality. Logan had always been happy to oblige.
If she wanted it again that would be fine too, not to be chased by mutants or looking for "baddies" as she called them. Normality seemed like a good idea now that the children were on the way. He still worried about Rogue and the accusing look she gave him at the house. He would always be there for Rogue and the X-men and he hoped they understood that. Nothing was certain, he and Ally would have a lot to figure out together.

Hayley was going faster now, only downshifting for the corner and watching the mirrors almost constantly. She couldn't seem to shake them. She watched the black car closely. She may have to take them on alone. She glanced at Rogue who was holding the door handle for support and watching the passenger rearview mirror.
"Can you drive?" she asked her quickly. She wanted to take to the air and fireball them.

Rogue looked scared, "A little" she answered quietly.
'Better not chance it,' she thought to herself.
Hayley glanced around and tossed a fireball over her shoulder. The car dodged it easily.
'Shit, I am going to need help to keep the kid safe.' She yelled to Logan's mind knowing he was closest to them.
She watched Rogue she looked frightened. For the kid's sake she hoped he hurried.

Logan heard it and speed up. He knew Hayley wouldn't jeopardize Rogue. Her safety would be a priority to her. How long could she hold them off though? He knew they were ahead and he was already speeding. He felt sorry for Rouge as memories of Hayley's driving came to mind.

Hayley wasn't sure if Logan would catch up to them as fast as they were going. She went even faster pushing Ally's car harder now. They were getting closer to the school now. She called to Justice first.
