Alien Amour (2006)

"Alien Amour" tells the story of Hy Batchelder, a nerd who is at a loss in the ways of love.
Working as a scientist's assistant, he is privy on the creation of Dr. Thomas Sturgeon's "Telescoportation" device, a cross between a telescope and a teleportation machine that can transport objects across long distances.
While watching a demonstration of the device, Hy hits upon a scheme to take control of the machine to find love somewhere beyond Earth. Murdering the scientists, he locks onto Neptune to find him an alien amour, and he does...but is it something he can handle?

Behind The Scenes:

Scott recalls the story behind "Alien Amour": "A friend of mine and I were talking one night, and I made her an offer, which was if she could come up with a good idea for a film, I would make it. The idea she came up with was this one."
Leaving the writing to "Jade Nikolov" (the screenwriter's pseudonym), Scott was ready to start filming when health issues struck him. "I wound up in the hospital with severe pain." he says with a sly grin. "Turns out I had kidney stones, and since it's health before fun, I had to have surgery to have them removed. Once I got my energy back, we got this filmed. Overall, I was very pleased with the way it turned out."

"Scott Zimmerman (the film's technical advisor) came up with a great ad campaign for us, and put in a lot of hard work to get this out as well. Would have liked to get him in on a role in this, but his work behind the scenes was indispensible."
Unfortunately, the film died a quick, painful death upon distribution. "We worked really hard behind the scenes, spending lots of time and money to get this film to some outlets, and it bombed big-time. It was really a big blow, really sad because the film was a lot of hard work. Even though it didn't get seen much upon initial release, there's always a future chance for a re-birth." says Scott.
