Nightshade (1994)

The Story:

The revenge story may be one of the most rudimentary in cinema, but in Scott's hands, this is what happens:
Judge Joseph Henry is quite angered when mobsters torch his home and kill his wife to stop a case from going further. To get revenge, he becomes the NIGHTSHADE, a mysterious vigilante out to get revenge on bad guys everywhere, mainly the quartet of killers who destroyed his life. With his equally mysterious partner Primus, the duo seek out to kill the enemies. However, their plans may be thwarted by a persistant detective who despises those who bend the law. Everything comes together in a violent climax with a showdown between sadistic killer Icepick and the good guys.

Behind the scenes:

"Nightshade was probably one of the top five films I have made." Scott remarks. "I'm proud of it. Though the budget is low, the fun is high." Scott also wishes he would have given sole writing credit to Arthur. "This was Tim's idea, and I admit I was reluctant when he told me the story, but I'm happy we made it."
The film was dedicated to Sugar, the portly dog seen in a bunch of Scott's earlier films. "It was Tim's dog, and she had to be put down shortly before we got around to filming this, which was sad because we considered her to be a mascot for Trans-Atlantic Pictures."
