An Enterprising Retirement (1993)

A "Star Trek: The Next Generation" film with a twist, this one is set in 2302. Now in their 70's, Captain William Riker (Scott) and Commander Worf (Tim Arthur) are on the bridge when Worf passes out. Revived by Riker and a shot of brandy, Worf recounts the story which is the heart of the film: The crew is ordered to return to the nearest starbase to have the ship decomissioned. While on their way back, the ship runs across a ship captained by Donovan Wilco (also Arthur), who is a Cardillian, which is a snobbish race of rich aliens. Refusing to let the Cardillian ship pass, Riker starts a battle to have one more showdown before retirement. But, the cost to him and his elderly crew may be too much to handle!

Behind The Scenes:

Despite the extreme low budget and production problems, Scott recalls shooting and his memories of "An Enterprising Retirement" quite fondly.
"The film was originally to have been a short movie entitled WORF'S NIGHTMARE, but I thought the story would be better suited as a feature length film, and we made 75 minutes. The idea was came up with in 1992 around the time we shot STAR TREK 8, but we put the story on hold until the following year."
One of the things that did frustrate Scott was a mix-up with the master print that still is a mystery to this day. "I had made a copy of the master for Tim so he could have his own, but I unintentionally gave Tim the master copy, and he lent it out to some friends and never got it back. That was back in 1993 or so, and God knows where the master copy of this film is to this day! So now, the only prints floating around today is copies of copies of copies, and that lack of quality detracts from the enjoyment of this film."
