Voices Within tells the story of a wicked murderer, who one day realizes that he will never be able to quench his thirst for misery and pain. He needs an escape and the only way out of his own deranged mind is self annihilation. The man kills himself but finds no rest even in his own grave, for one day his corpse is dug up out of the earth by a small group of people who call themselves the "shadows". You see, the act of killing himself made him a legend even among serial killers, and he gained a small cult following who believed that they could revive his morbid soul from the beyond. And they do. When he is brought back from the dead his soul is very angry. He sets about killing everything in his path... even his own "followers". Voices Within goes on from here to evolve into a total bloodbath. A tortured soul brought back from the grave. Unstoppable by even himself now.
