Trilogy of Terror
In this terrifying compilation of three stories, directed by Dan Curtis for television in 1975, Karen Black portrays four roles in all three installments as the leading lady. Karen Black states that she doesn't even like horror films and didn't even want to do this film. Although, after a long time of trying to talk her into starring, Dan Curtis finally succeeded and Black agreed. Karen Black also starred in Dan Curtis's Burnt Offerings.
Julie
Julie Eldridge (Black) is an English teacher who's being blackmailed by one of her students, Chad (Robert Burton), who has an obsession with her. While they're on a date, Chad poisons Julie's drink and she falls into a deep sleep, allowing him to take photos of her in incriminating poses. But Chad doesn't know what he's gotten himself into...and the consequences may be deadly!
Millicent and Therese
Millicent (Black) and Therese (Black) are two very different twin sisters. After Millicent reveals Therese's provocative past to her new boyfriend, he runs away. Millicent then fears for her life, believing Therese will kill her. One thing leads to another, including deadly witchcraft and a shocking twist ending.
Amelia
This is the installment that is most famous because of the vicious co-star, the Zuni Fetish Doll. Amelia has just bought her boyfriend a Zuni Doll for his Zuni tribe fetish. After a fight with her mother over the phone, the chain which is around the doll's waist comes loose and releases the spirit of the evil Zuni hunter spirit which causes the doll to come to life, attacking and tormenting Amelia. Amelia has no way to get out of her apartment, and she has no way to get away from the Zuni Doll!
I enjoyed all stories very much, especially the last, Amelia. A sequel followed many years later, which was extremely well considering how long it had been since the original. Definitely check out this bizarre, twisted, and terrifying collaboration which will give you sleepless nights!
