The Last Slumber Party

On their last day of school, three girlfriends, Linda, Tracy, and Chris, celebrate by having a slumber party at Linda's house, after persistently urging her to agree. Meanwhile, at a nearby hospital, Linda's father, Dr. Sickler, has informed one of his patients that they will be performing a lobotomy on him. This enrages the mental patient, and he escapes, donning an orderly's uniform and armed with a scalpel. Dr. Sickler, nor anyone else, is aware of this, and before you know it, a news flash reports two dead bodies, a nurse and an orderly, found behind a bus stop that night. The girls barely think anything of it, and go on with their slumber party. Their boyfriends crash the party, wearing masks and playing jokes to scare the girls. While the girls are too busy to notice, they don't know that the mental patient has broken into the house. What happens next is a weird series of events, highlighting the madman's rampage as he kills all of the party guests one by one, aided by multiple plot twists that will make your head spin!

I've always enjoyed this little slasher ever since I was a kid. The majority of other people's reviews state that they loathed it, but for some demented reason, this movie actually entertained me! Sure, the acting and photography is horrible, but it didn't keep me from loving this movie. There are a lot of things that bothered me about this movie, like how the killer manages to stand right by the girls, without them even noticing. Some of the victims just stand there, waiting for the crazy guy to slash them in the face! One girl even stays inside the house, after she's outside and goes back in, when she is very aware that there is a killer in the house! The footage is horrible in many parts, and it looked like it was made about twenty years ago or something. By the way, there's many retro memorabilia hung up in Linda's bedroom, such as Beegees and the Beatles posters, even a Xanadu and a Sesame Street poster. There's also something about how the characters respond to things, such as when they find a dead body, they just stand there for about three seconds and then they gasp. Not exactly recommended to the standard horror movie viewer, but I really enjoyed it. Not to be confused with the Slumber Party Massacre series.
