If I Die Before I Wake
(Review by Nigel Dungan)
One restless night Loribeth thinks she hears someone in her house,
silently she sneeks a look out her door and witnesses three men in her
house
who start terrorising her family, quickly she wakes her younger sister
and
makes both beds, then hides her sister and herself. Someone walks into
the
bedroom, sees both beds made and presumes no one sleeps there and
leaves.
Daryl and his two brothers have broken in and are tourturing the rest
of the
family, not knowing that Loribeth is sneaking around trying to find a
way
out.
This movie is titles WRONG, the right title would have to be
INTENCITY
for If I Die does NOT let up on it, it starts right in on the action
and
doesn't let up, it pounds at you, gets to you like Last House On The
Left
and Mothers Day did, there are scenes in this movie that are hard to
take
and NOT because we actully see the violence but we see Loribeths face
as it
happens to her family and the look of pain is very believably, it shows
more
then any amount of blood or gore could off. That's mostly the fist half
of
the film, powerfully stuff, the second half becomes very suspencfull.
If
there has ever been a movie that I have been at the edge of my seat the
entire way through this one has to be it. One key element that also
helps
work is the acting, Muse Watson plays demented Daryl perfectly, he
looks
very scary in this movie. Stephanie Jones is the perfect choise to play
LoriBeth, she is a truly great actress that will hopfully go farther in
her
career. I highly recommend this movie, but it is deffenatly NOT for
kids.
