Camp Blood 2
(Review by Shelia)
It's the millinieum, and the horror genre for the last
10 yrs or so has really gotten bad,we had to sit
through movies that dealt with a killer stalking
college coeds with a hook, then we went to high school
only to be attacked by alien beings posing as
teachers,
then if that wasn't bad enough,we were attacked at a
college campus by a psycho into urban
legends.......and please let 's not forget the equally
sickening sequels that followed these little ''gems''
After all this your saying to yourself,Ah!!!!!!What
ever happened to those good ol 80's slasher
films.....you know the ones..........we would go to
camp and be attacked by a deformed maniac in a hockey
mask in (Friday the 13th),or go trick or treating and
get knifed to death by an escaped mental patient in
(''Halloween'')or we'd go to a secluded farmhouse out
in the country and be chased down and filleted by some
psycho with a chainsaw in (''Texas Chainsaw
Massacre'')Or maybe you like those ''rip off''
slashers from the 80's....you know the ones that make
you think''Haven't we done this before''.We had to go
to alittle mining town to get attacked by
''heart''obsessed psycho and have our hearts ripped
out on Valentines Day in (''My Bloody Valentine'')we
went back to camp only to be
stabbed and decapitated by a teen transsexual psycho
in (''Sleepaway Camp'')or was it we returned to our 10
yr class reunion, only to be electrocuted, burned with
acid and so on by a psycho nerd we terrorized 10 yrs
before in(''Slaughter High'')Just when we all thought
that,genre was lost forever.......
Dead Alive Productions brings back 80's horror genre
in ''Camp Blood ''and Camp Blood 2''
This review is about the awaited sequel to the orginal
''Camp Blood''.This movie(like the original)was great
in the sense of I thought I was back in the 80's.....
Here's how the story goes..........
''If you were the only survivor of a massacre, and
everyone has sighned you away to an insane asylum for
murder, would you go back and retrace every horrific
memory if your freedom depended on it?Well Patricia
(played by the millineums new upcoming scream queen
Jennifer Ritchkoff)did just that. It's a year after the
blood bath massacre at ''Camp Blackwood''(also known
by the locals as ''Camp Blood'')and Trisha's friends
are all dead, and her being the only survivor of
repeated attacks by the ''killer clown''she is locked
away in an
asylum, blamed for the sensless bloodbath of her
friends and two other innocent people at ''Camp
Blood''
Interested in doing her story and making a movie about
it,a independent film director contacts Trish and her
doctor about making her expreience at ''Camp
Blood''into a movie, and actually shooting the movie on
the location where the massacre a year before took
place.Trish still insists she's innocent of the
senseless bloodbath, tells the director a story of how
there is a killer clown deep in the woods of ''Camp
Blackwood''and decides against being part of this
project, the director then let's Trish know that by
doing this movie, this could be her chance to set the
record straight and be set free,so Trish agrees to go
and be a technical advisor on the movie, and is let out
only on ''pass'' to work on this film.
The movie is set to roll, the actors portraying Trish
and her friends are ready to re create the bloody
massacre of ''Camp Blood''but there is one person who
is taking this ''killer clown''legend a bit too
seriously and before you know it,the movie is making
itself..........''REAL''
Actors end up missing, and Trish is once again faced
with yet another bloodbath........Could it be the
''killer clown''is back to slash last years record?Or
is this just another one of Trish's dillusions.
This sequel movie was great,it had alot of
''nostalgic''80's horror themes............there was
one scene that reminded me of the ''dead bodies around
the table scene in ''Happy Birthday To me''.The movie
was alot bloodier than the first, there were more
victims........and it sort of put closure to the
original...........
The acting was B-acting.the murder scenes were kinds
original........like the one scene where the girl is
having sex and afterwards looks up and a machete is
jabbed right in her mouth and comes out the back of
her head,or the guy that get's beer bottled in the
eyes,or the guy in the opening of the movie that tells
of the legend of ''Camp Blood''takes her there for a
picnic,and has to(drain his dragon)as he puts it,only
to come back and see his girlfriend throat slashed, and
he get's a fst machete in his back comes out through
his stomach,blood everywhere..........There was one
scene in the movie that was alittle disappointing,it
was a scene where the lead actress playing Trish in
the movie is stabbed like 10 times brutally in the
head, but when they show the body, she looks like she
just bumped her head, with litte blood.
This movie picks up right where the first one left
off,
there's no new dragged out plot, than just what the
orignal left off,the ending of this movie will
surprise you in one sense, and kinda predictable in
another. This movie reminded me ''plot wise''of
''Friday the 13''and ''Friday the 13th 2''
If you see ''Camp Blood''and ''Camp Blood 2''you'll
see what I mean.......
The low down on this movie is........It's a great
nostalgic journey back into those cheesy 80's
B-Slasher flicks,If you love them like I do.This movie
is for you......I'd rather spend my money on movies
like this, then the higher budget junk horror movies
they try to pass off as ''Good.....Box office Hits''I
do hope ''Dead Alive Productions''is working on more
movies like ''Camp Blood''because there is a
''cult''folowing for them, and Jennifer Ritchkoff (the
star of ''Camp Blood'')is defintly on her way to
''Scream Queen''stardom......
So if you want a copy of these two movies.......
go to www.deadalive.com.I promise you won't be
disappointed!!!!!!
