Don't Go in the House
After an eyewitness account of a fellow work employee being accidentally set on fire, Donlad Kohler (Dan Grimaldi) keeps to himself and doesn't even try to help with the matter. Arriving to the house where he and his mother (Ruth Dardick) live, he discovers she's dyed in her sleep. Going completely mad, he doesn't accept the fact and believes she still lives. In a flashback scene, we discover that Donald was repeatedly burned by his mother when he was a child. Taking his hate of women too far, Donald lures unsuspecting women to the house where he tortures and sets them on fire. Having heard murderous voices all his life, his victims start to speak to him, driving him more and more to the edge of insanity.
This has to be one of the worst, and I mean worst, horror movies I've ever seen! One of the taglines for this sleazy piece of trash boasts, You've Been Warned; I wonder if they're talking about the house or the movie... Amazingly, the 1979 Joseph Ellison-directed film has made its way onto DVD, which has been rumored to be very poor. The film's storyline is a bit similar to the far more superior 1960 Alfred Hitchcock film, Psycho, but doesn't do justice and is just a complete mess, in turn, ripping it off. The plot is boring, along with the whole movie that's very unberable to sit through. Absolutely not recommended. The working title for this film was The Burning.
