Synopsis
& Review:
The war in heaven continues in the
Prophecy 2. For those people who enjoy a religious thriller, this movie will
continue to frighten you, at least the Angel Gabriel will. Still not as
effective as the first movie, Christopher Walken continues to make an impact
as the Angel Gabriel.
The heavenly wars are far from over in the
second installment of the Prophecy series. A unsuspecting mortal woman
(Jennifer Beals), becomes pregnant by the Angel Danyael (Russell Wong). The
baby will have the ability to shift the balance of power in the war. This
attracts the attention of the Angel Gabriel (Christopher Walken), who escapes
the fiery pits of hell to once again terrorize humanity.
This quickly becomes a vicious game of cat
and mouse as Gabriel hunts down the mortal woman in hopes of recruiting her
angel/human child. Can the Angel Danyael protect the woman and the child from
Gabriel, or is Gabriel just to powerful to deal with?
This is not the worst sequel I have ever
seen, in fact it continues the story rather well. This movie avoided the
theaters and went straight to video, which was definitely a good move.
Christopher Walken continued to frighten as the creepy Angel Gabriel, in a way
that only he could do. As far as I'm concerned this should have been the final
movie, but alas there is another chapter in the Prophecy series.
