Synopsis
& Review: No real introduction
is needed for this all-time classic thriller. The Exorcist is religious
thriller about a young girl who is possessed by a demon.
An actress's young daughter begins a
frightening transformation after she plays with a Ouija board.
Unable to control her daughters behavior, she
is desperate to try anything to bring her daughter back to normal. After
trying many non-successful ways to help her daughter, she finally seeks the
help of a local catholic priest.
Question his own faith, the catholic priest
(Jason Miller) is asked to perform an exorcism. Having very little experience
in this field the priest calls in a world re-nouned catholic priest (demon
hunter specialist Max Von Snydow), to help with the exorcism. Together, the
two priests do battle with the demonic spirit trapped in the body of the young
girl.
Thrilling and creepy, the Exorcist is filled
with freakish special effects which makes the movie a must see. In 2000,
additional footage was re-added to the original and the film was re-released
in theaters. As far as I'm concerned, the special directors cut is the best
version to see. So if you haven't seen this movie rent it now. Oh, and
remember to keep a bowl of pea soup handy!
