My
Review: I think I would have enjoyed this
movie more if it had come out before John Carpenter’s “Halloween”
instead of after it. It is
obvious that this movie was made to cash in on the success of Halloween that
was made four years earlier.
The movie revolves around a
slumber party given by a group of female High School students, boys invited,
big surprise. A crazed lunatic
who has killed five teens back in 1969 escapes from an insane asylum (i.e.
Michael Myers, the Halloween series) has decided to invite himself.
If you like gratuitous massacre scenes and bare breasted women then
this is the movie for you. It
even has the mandatory girls locker room shower scene.
Despite its obvious “Halloween” rip-off, it has a good murder
count.
There are also some notable
actors in the cast. Pamela
Roylane who plays the woman’s basketball coach also played Sarah Carter in
“Little house on the prairie.” Brink
Stevens is also in this film. A
popular “B” movie, horror scream queen who appeared in such classics as,
“Sorority babes in the slime ball bowl-o-rama”(1988).
She also appeared in numerous Playboy video magazines in the early
1980’s.
So,
if you like girls being knocked off one by one by an escaped psychotic killer,
then check out “Slumber Party Massacre.”
You will not be disappointed.
