NEAR DARK

Director(s): Kathryn Bigelow

Writer(s): Kathryn Bigelow, Eric Red

Cast: Adrian Pasdar, Jenny Wright, Lance Henriksen, Bill Paxton, Jenette Goldstein, Tim Thomerson.

Synopsis: A midwestern farm boy reluctantly becomes a member of the undead when a girl he meets turns out to be part of a band of southern vampires who roam the highways in stolen cars. Part of his initiation incudes a bloody assault on a bar.

My Review: I have never sat through a more boring horror film.  This film picked up pretty slow, a guy and his buddies are out on the town, meet a girl, and Caleb gives her a ride, gets bitten and turns into a vampire. The rest of the film, is the group of vampires trying to get Caleb to prove himself worthy of being a vampire by making his first kill.

There isn't much gore, or much suspense throughout the entire film. Its very slow paced, and I found myself almost falling asleep during the film. Its not scary in the least. It seems like a wannabe Lost Boys.
