Director(s):

Cast:
Kimberly Beck, Peter
Barton, Corey Feldman, Erich Anderson, Crispin Glover, Alan Hayes
Synopsis:
Following
the events in Part Three, Jason returns again to another portion of Crystal
Lake. This time, the Jarvis Family and a group of vacationing teens
meet Jason and fall prey to his continued revenge. Though, it appears that Jason has met an adversary this time
in a 12-year-old Tommy Jarvis.
My
Review: The return of Tom Savini as
makeup artist only adds to the grand horror that is fitting for this title.
Though, unlike his first outing, a lot of his work isn’t butchered by
the MPAA, but it still effective in every way.
The
film does feature many moments of where you can tell that they were striving
for so much more, but it just doesn’t come through. The interactions with much of the cast with one another
teeter from either annoying or almost bittersweet, such as with the Jarvis
family.
The
film does feature some nice kills, but they do seem like the director was well
aware of what the film would befall should the MPAA get a hold of it.
Ted
White as Jason delivers a fine performance.
He serves as being horrific and effective in the role.
Overall:
The film does work as a great entry in the series, despite some of the
numerous problems with it.
Again,
alternate versions of the film do exist, but they contain character
development only. Thankful the
film wasn’t the ‘Final’ Jason film as it was tagged, but was just a time
for Paramount to reassess their interest.
