COPYCAT

Director(s): Jon Amiel

Writer(s): Ann Biderman, David Madsen

Cast: Sigourney Weaver, Holly Hunter, Dermot Mulroney, William McNamara, Will Patton, John Rothman, J.E. Freeman, Harry Connick Jr.

Synopsis:   Dr. Helen Hudson (Sigourney Weaver) is a Clinical Psychologist who specializes in the study of serial killers.  She may have to leave her classroom and textbooks and get a real look into the eyes of a maniac.

When a “copycat” killer who emulates the deeds of some of the century’s most infamous butchers hits San Francisco, Dr. Hudson may be the police’s biggest asset.  It is good vs. evil and in this movie as in real life good does not always win.

My Review: This movie has great writing and some of Hollywood’s heaviest hitters.  When these two elements come together in a film certain magic happens.  This movie has plenty of suspense, surprises and does not have to resort to bloodbaths or cheap scares to put you on the edge of your seat.

Rarely does a film keep the audience’s interest from the opening credits to the very end as this one does.

This reviewer highly recommends that you see “Copycat.”
