The World is Not Enough- Raymond Benson 1999

Summary- This novel pretty much follows the movie to the letter. The only thing Benson does is give much more background and insight into the relationship between Electra King and Renard.
My Grade- A+   I have enjoyed all the novelizations of Bond films, and this one is no exception. I think I like them so much because they give me a new medium to appreciate something I already like a lot. The novelizations always bring fresh insight to the movies.
Best Moment-The scene with Q is better in the book than in the movie. The lines are almost the same, but instead of simply lowering through the floor like he does in the movie, in the book Q sets off smoke and slips through a hidden door. Bond doesn't even see Q leave. That is more like having an escape route than what happened in the movie. Also, Q's assistant was introduced. It will be interesting to see if Benson writes out the part of the original Q now, since he won't be in any more movies.
