007 In New York- Ian Fleming 1964

Summary-James Bond goes to New York for a simple mission. A female former member of MI6, Solange, has started living with a man who is former KGB. She doesn't know this. M has sent Bond to try rendezvous with the woman, to tell her as to avoid a scandal. Bond sets up the rendezvous for the Reptile House at the Central Park Zoo. However, things go wrong and are barely fixed in time. There is no reptile house at the Central Park Zoo!
My Grade- B+    This is Fleming's shortest Bond story, being just about five pages. It is a good read for as short as it is, although most of it is just pointing out the pluses and minuses of New York City.
Best Moment-The last line, where it is revealed that everything went wrong since the Central Park Zoo doesn't have a reptile house is probably the funniest thing Fleming ever wrote. I actually laughed out loud. I'm a big fan of irony.
Also Notable-If you're a fan of the Fleming novels, you know James Bond loves eggs. This short story gives the recipe for James Bond's perfect scrambled eggs.
