The Whole Nine Yards Cert 15

`The Whole 9 Yards' (8meters and 23 centimetres just doesn't seem to have the same ring to it) stars Matthew Perry (Chandler of `Friends' fame), Bruce Willis and Rosanna Arquette, in a black comedy that 50 years ago would have been an ideal vehicle for Cary Grant.
Nicholas Oseransky, Oz for short (Matt Perry) is a dentist living in Montreal with his French Canadian wife Sophie (Rosanna Arquette). Unfortunately, Oz's former business partner (Sophie's late father) embezzled their dentistry practice and left him with a mountain of debt.
Oz's solution is to stoically pay off the debt, Sophie's is to hire a hit man, kill Oz and then collect on his life insurance.
However, when Bruce Willis arrives as the new next door neighbour Jimmy Jones (a.k.a. Jimmy `The Tulip' Tudeski, a Chicago hit man who ratted on his former Gang-land Boss and now has a price on his head) Sophie decides to dispatch Oz off to Chicago in search of the Gang-land Boss's son and duly ask if there's a `Finders Fee' for Jimmy's new address.
What ensues is an enjoyable romp that sees Matt Perry exercise his considerable comic timing and Bruce Willis continue his current `hot streak' (Armageddon, The Sixth Sense) as the moralistic hit man, Jimmy The Tulip.
With a well written script and a darkly funny storyline, `The Whole 9 Yards' is something of a rarity these days, a comedy that actually makes you laugh, you'll definitely find it a hit in more ways than one.
