AUTHOR MEETINGS

MICHELE MCCOY/ANNE BLAIR

Michele and I first met at the Ramona Pageant in Hemet, California. We'd been e-mailing back and forth for quite a while (Michele's story A Lady Named Rose is on Anne's Story Page). When I heard that Michele lives near LA, only a couple of hours from Hemet, I offered her my comp tickets to the Ramona Pageant (I played a Spanish Maiden). She and her friend Rebecca came to see the show, and we agreed to meet afterwards at the wall separating the stage from the audience. Rebecca took some pictures, one of which you see above. Recently, I drove out to LA to visit. Michele showed me around LA, and we visited Santa Monica and Hollywood (absolutely fascinating places, by the way; and of course every Titanic fan should visit Santa Monica if they have a chance).

MICHELE MCCOY/RAE (CHIBI)/ANNE BLAIR

Michele, Rae, and I met at the LA County Fair in Pomona in September of 2006. Rae was visiting from Canada, while Michele lives in Van Nuys and I live in Perris. We wandered around the fair together, along with some of Rae's friends, and had a great time in spite of having difficulty locating each other at first, as Rae and her friends had never met Michele and I before. Though the visit was short, it was enjoyable, and hopefully we can meet again in the future. In the picture, Michele is the one on the far left, Rae is the one making the peace sign, Rae's friend Jenna is the one is green, and I am the one in pink.

TRACY BOARDMAN/SHIRLEY

Tracy and I have been friends since the spring of 1999 when she wrote and asked me "where in the world are you?" We met face to face three months later in London when we were on our way home from Ireland. Last year she came to the States and we toured the Titanic exhibit here in Chicago. In May of this year, I flew to England where Tracy and I had a funfilled week sightseeing and doing some Titanic related things. Her husband kindly drove us to Lichfield to see the Capt. Smith monument. One of the last nights of the visit was saved for viewing the movie. We bought some take away food from Marks and Spencer, lit Jack's candle (a tradition we started last year) and opened the White Star Champagne that I brought from home. Then we settled down to an awesome four hour session of discussing and scrutinizing every inch of the film. Sadly, the time flew by too fast, but we are already planning for another visit next year.
