KEEP ONE EYE ON THIS SPACE, BUT OTHERWISE GO ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS!!!!
August something, 2002 - Oi! So it turns out some people WERE actually waiting for ABAHC to make its return. Well, I've got good news and bad news. The good news is that it will not be a half-assed website such as you see before you (or you saw at http://www.aboyandhischainsaw.com ). I will no longer try to go toe-to-toe with the established Evil Dead websites in existence. ABAHC will be all about fan content. That's right, wallpaper, wavs, assorted other media, and the rest. What that leaves out is news (which Deadites Online and others already have covered) and memorabilia archives (which Morsoth and Evil Dead: The Ultimate Experience in Grueling Terror, among others, are knocking out of the park). Okay, so did I pad the good news enough yet?

The bad news is that my hard drive went kapoot. I lost what progress I'd made toward ABAHC's resurrection. So no more will I promise A Boy and His Chainsaw, I will say forget about it for the time being, and one day I'll surprise you. I want to apologize and thank people who still care about the ol' website. I really appreciate it.

KEEP WATCHING THIS SPACE!!!
February 25, 2002 - Yes, I got a little sidetracked between October and now, but I finished up my other website project and am now devoting my full attention to ABAHC. After a little shopping around, ABAHC will NOT move back here, but to Angelfire's sister host company Tripod. I've already got the layout set up, so there's not a whole lot left to do. Please bear with me and check back.

WATCH THIS SPACE!!!
OCTOBER 2001! This is brand-spankin' new!

As you may or may not know, the son of Blood, Guts & Gasoline (A Boy and his Chainsaw) shut down, boohoo. BUT it isn't dead, it's just moved... back here! Of course it's not all moved in yet, as the site is undergoing yet ANOTHER redesign in an attempt to make this here Evil Dead website pretty (and professional, too!) So please, for the love of ALL THAT IS GOOD AND DECENT, watch here, tell your friends, whatever, because A Boy and his Chainsaw is back in town!

In it's own unique way, The Evil Dead Trilogy runs the gamut of genres from horror, to comedy, to action, and it combines them all like only a Sam Raimi, Robert Tapert, Scott Spiegel and the Evil Dead series could. All three of the films have that special something that makes a movie a cult movie, with loyal fans who watch the films over and over, take lines from the movies into their daily vocabulary, and wait impatiently for the next movie in the series. I am one of those fans, and if you're here then you must be too. If you're not, then maybe we can change that.

These movies truly have something about them that no person can define, something that makes them border the line between "movie" and "event". They might not compare to movies like, oh, Citizen Kane or Schindler's List in the plot department, but you can watch them over and over again, because they're just so darn fun. Please take a look at the disclaimer if you would, sign the guest book if it catches your fancy but most of all, enjoy the movies and this site I've constructed to honor them.

Site Update June 14, 2001

Aw heck, I'll just give you the link to the new site now. It isn't finished, but I really can't mess with it much until it gets listed in the yahoo directories (I'll explain why later). So, for all of your Evil Dead website-ing enjoyment, I present: a Boy and his Chainsaw! There are some goof-ups as of now, for instance, I list the "friends' links" catagory as "Friends of BG&G", when it's not BG&G anymore. Oh well. I'll fix those things in time. For now, enjoy what's there, like Evil Dead MP3s, and the drinking game that I just remembered needs some polishing up! Oh crap!

Site Update June whatever, it's summer

Well crap in a hat, it looks like I can't open the FRICKING SITE Friday, due to complications beyond my control. I'm just not going to say anything more about it until I open it, because I'm sure you're all sick of hearing about it.

Site Update June 6, 2001

Even though it's not news, really, and it's a personal story, so you probably don't care, it IS Evil Dead related, so I thought I'd share. There was a frigging scorpion in my Evil Dead 2 VHS slipcover, and no amount of whacking the ends with a bat would force it out, so I ended up having to crush the entire box beneath my feet. Damn scorpion.

I have come to a decision! I'll be out of town come friday, so I'll be opening the new site on friday, rain or shine, whether it's absolutely completed or not. As is, there are a few features to touch up, and a couple that are practically non-existent, but I figure you poor people have waited long enough.

Site Update June 4, 2001

DARN! Darn darn DARN! I wasn't able to get tickets to the Bruce Campbell Weekend at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin! DAAAAAAAAAARN! If there's anyone out there who goes, you must report to me on the event, for the website! Please! The power of Bruce compells you! Darn!

By the way, I shut down the forums temporarily, I hope you're not all TOO disappointed. Sarcasm, sarcasm sarcasm.

Site Update June 3, 2001

Sorry about the delay, a little out-of-town business, but everything should be back on track in a matter of days. Doggone it, I forgot to wish everyone a happy Memorial Day. Oh well, happy belated Memorial Day, everybody! Now it's back to work on the top-secret, classified, super-duper nunyabeezwax redesign!

Site Update May 28, 2001

Just so that you know this isn't a load of hooey, and I really am working on the new layout, here's the new banner that will go along with it. It sure looked better when I pictured it in my head. Of course, in my head, there was screaming and chainsaws roaring. Not all the time, just when... oh psh. Just look.

Site Update May 23, 2001

Closer still, to the unveiling of the redesign! I also added a totally pointless blue blight to the Store page, because I searched for a stupid flashing blue light animation for longer than ANY man should have to search for ANY gif animation, and today I found it, and I'll be damned if I'm not gonna use it!

Three new (Three Stooges) links added to the links page.

Site Update May 20, 2001

Well whadaya know! I updated the eBay page! It's only one auction, but it's a doozy. And I cleared out all of the old stuff from the top list, I decided I needed to clean it out when I saw the link for an "'I Like Ike' Campaign button, hot off the presses".

And slowly, ever so slowly, the new design is coming together. It's not gonna knock your socks off, more like it might loosed your shoelaces. It just looks more polished, a more professional, and I think you'll be able to tell it's for an Evil Dead site when you look at it. Still no flash animations, though, I'm still not that good at this website stuff yet.

Whoopsie, I added a few more auctions to the eBay page. They're not your every day Evil Dead junk, so check it out.

Site Update May 19, 2001

Wow! What an upset! Betsy Baker is leading in the favorite Linda poll, bypassing the recognizable Bridget Fonda and odds-on favorite Denise Bixler! Whoda thunk it?

Sorry for the severe lack of updates, but I've been working almost non-stop on the redesign, taking things in a new direction! I won't say it's looking great, but it's not nearly as dull as what you see now. Depending on how fast it goes, I may have to shut down for a day or two while I pull the switch and set the new look in place. Here's hoping you guys and gals like it!

Site Update May 14, 2001

New poll! This one isn't as life-or-death as the last one, in fact, this one's just for fun. So vote, don't vote, have fun!

Site Update May 13, 2001

Happy Mother's Day, everyone!

Added a revamped "blood flood" buddy icon to the buddy icon gallery (in addition to the old one).

I'm crafting my own Ash/Homer Simpson figure (I don't want to shell out fifty bucks for one on eBay), and if all goes well, maybe I'll set up a recipe for all of you would-be action figure customizers.

I tossed around the idea of adding a "filmography" section to the site, pointing out the films of Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell and all the rest, but I decided I couldn't possibly do any better than the Internet Movie Database has done, so if you're wondering who directed Bruce Campbell in Maniac Cop, go check them out.

Site Update May 12, 2001

Six new Buddy Icons added to the buddy icons page.

Make that ten new buddy icons.

Aw heck, let's add one more. Eleven! OH how I suffer for my art! *cough*

Site Update May 10, 2001

A eency weency bit of trivia added to, you guessed it, the trivia page.

Site Update May 9, 2001

Two new Evil Dead-lookalike Halloween masks added to the store.

I cleared out the forums, so they're all yours now!

One new print-ad added to the references page, located in the Miscellaneous section.

Well, I got bored, so I decided to try to make myself a little Ash figure. The style I went for was sort of an anime look, and the actual figure style is what the Japanese call "Super Deformed", or "SD" for short. It ended up looking like "Ash as a Muppet", but I thought you might like to see it anyway, so here it is. Next up is an Evil Dead Lego line I hope to craft.

One new Evil Dead icon added to the buddy icons page.

Site Update May 7, 2001

I had been saving this for the official unveiling of the site's redesign, but I figured why not just give it to you now. I'm also paranoid that somebody else will open up a similar page while I have this one hidden. That sucks, let me tell you. BG&G's ReBoot Page is now open for business, and this is the only way you'll get to see it for now, is if you read this update. It's not going into the permanent directory just yet, so rejoice, you lucky stiffs!

Site Update May 6, 2001

Okay! The poll is now officially closed. It looks like there won't be a Darkman section added to the site, as the majority of you voters would prefer that the site remain exclusively Evil Dead. I know how much of a pain it is to take time to vote in a stupid poll, but thank you to everyone who voted, you just helped to shape the website.

Site Update May 4, 2001

The hit counter just broke a thousand, and I'd like to take this chance to thank everyone who has given me and Blood, Guts & Gasoline a chance to be your Evil Dead page. Thank you all, and I hope you'll stick around as I continue to try to help quench your thirst for new Evil Dead entertainment.

One new link added to the links page, and I'm working on a version of the links page that features short descriptions of the sites that I link to.

Site Update April 28, 2001

On second thought, maybe I'll shut down the poll at five votes. So you better vote fast, the poll is filling up quickly! *cough*

Site Update April 27, 2001

Well, I figure I'll shut down the current poll when one of the options reaches ten votes, and make the decision about the Darkman section. As of right now, it looks like most of you want to keep the site Evil Dead-only. Thanks again to everyone who has voted.

A young lady who signed the guestbook suggested that I make available an Evil Dead screensaver. Well, that's a great idea, and it's officially on my "things to do" list.

Sorry for the lack of any kind of updates, but I'm having problems with my PC, and I'm going to have to wipe my hard drive (again), then everything should be back in working order, with new wavs, screen caps, and all sorts of good stuff new to the page.

Site Update April 23, 2001

While poking around the 'net today, I found an interesting little thread on a Movie Prop message board that has some facts and trivia about Ash's chainsaw. Check it out here.

One new nugget of Toyfare goodness added to the references page, located here. It's not the nugget of Toyfare goodness available in the current issue, though, so I suggest you go out and get that while the gettin's good. Enjoy.

One new Evil Dead link added to the links page.

Site Update April 19, 2001

In Toyfare #46, the June 2001 issue, a certain icon of Evil Dead culture makes a small appearance. The issue's on sale now, go pick up a copy.

Blood, Guts & Gasoline can now be reached at http://bloodgutsgasoline.cjb.net! I know what you're thinkin', "he should be making it more fun to BE here, not easier to get here!". Yeah, well, I'm working on it. As always, any suggestions and/or comments can be directed to me via the email address at the bottom of the page, the forums, or the good ol' guestbook.

Speaking of the good ol' guestbook, a few changes have been made. I gave in to peer pressure and used the blood-rule divider. I know, it's over-used, but with a name like "Blood, Guts & Gasoline", I think if anyone has a right to use it, it's me. I mean, "Captain Luvalot's Care Bear Headquarters" has no excuse to use a bloody animation like that. There are also a few new questions on the thing, and I fixed the colors so that you aren't blinded by the white background when you least expect it.

Aha! In case you're cursing the day you were born because you missed the eBay auction for the Army of Darkness Lead Miniatures, just mosey on over to eBay and type "leading edge" into the search, which oughta do the trick. I'd be nice and link your directly, but I have... er... stuff to do. IMPORTANT stuff. *cough*

Okay, sheesh, I made direct links to the auctions, which can be found on the eBay Auctions page, to be visited through the link on the directory sidebar to your left. Also note the Complete Set of the AOD RPG auction.

Two new books (pre-order "If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor" by Bruce Campbell, and "Prima's Official Evil Dead: Hail to the King Strategy Guide") have been added to the shop.
