Changing Lanes

HI MOVIE FANS, Changing Lanes was an incredible movie with incredible acting. It starts strong and never losses the vibe. Affleck and Jackson both did an exceptional job in making you have sympathy for both guys, which are actually two guys that are pretty crooked men. First there’s Affleck a guy who is living a lying cheating lifestyle and then there’s Jackson character an abusive alcoholic, but with the help of the superb directing this movie makes it work. This action suspense drama has your heart beating thousand beats per second and then on the edge of tears. Not very many movies can do that successively, but Changing Lanes manages to pull it off. Overall: 9.0/10

National Lampoon's Van Wilder

HI MOVIE FANS, Van Wilder is a fun comedy and is a lot better than some of the junk that studios try to pass of as comedies. First off I found that Ryan Reynolds was surprisingly really good in this movie, he took a so-so script and made lines that aren't that funny, actually quite funny. What didn’t work for me was the role played by American Pie’s Tara Reid who was very shallow, and did nothing really at all, it was quite obvious that was no chemistry between the her and Van Wilder. This movie had quite a lot of real laugh-out-loud parts such as the homemade doggy doughnuts, Van Wilder assistant talking about why he came to this country, and allot of other stuff, sure it has some scenes that go no where, like the intro with the suicide guy on the roof but all-in-all this is the funniest teen comedy since Road Trip. Overall: 7.8

HI MOVIE FANS, WOW this movie rocked, move over Angelina Jolie (a.k.a Laura Croft) and say hi to Milla Jovovich. This movie has action, suspense, and great CGI. Being a fan of the games (I beat the third one, Nemesis) this movie was very accurate to the game, so all you gamers out there don't worry. The acting was pretty good, the directing was great, this movie looked great and it was a ton of fun! And talk about an ending WOW, can you spell S-E-Q-U-E-L, I only hope so!!! This movie was the best formula movie for me since Pitch Black, and definitely the best movie adapted from a video game ever. Overall ... 9.0/10

The Time Machine

HI MOVIE FANS, I saw The Time Machine, and WOW! This movie is better than The Planet of the Apes, The Mummies, and all of the Jurassic Parks. Guy Pearce was great in this, it was amazing how he could take simple lines and make them shine, which is what Mark Whalberg could not do in Planet of the Apes. The scenery in this movie was incredible, it looked great with the shots of New York through out the ages with old fashioned, futuristic, and so advanced that it is prehistoric, with houses hanging off the side of cliffs. There were some of the best action scenes I have ever seen with heart pounding action. When the mutants popped out of the ground shooting people with their pea shooters, and Guy fights one of the creatures, that was Mind Blowing or when he is climbing down into the under ground caves and those bats shoot up at him that was great! About the only thing that I did not like about this movie were the creatures; in some shots they looked like rejects from LOTR. I did like our female hero in this movie. She really held her ground with Guy Pearce. This is the movie to beat of 2002! Overall ... 9.0/10

Queen of the Damned

HI MOVIE FANS, I decided to go see Queen of the Damned, being quite a big fan of scary movies, I can honestly say that this movie is not scary. This movie was very disappointing; it took over 45 minutes until you saw Aaliyah. She maybe had four or five lines, and yet they advertise her as being the star, especially on the front of the poster and in the commercials/trailer. Never reading any of the Ann Rice books in the Vampire Chronicle's series I don't now how true the movie was to the book, but this movie was very bad. I thought that CGI was quite cheap, all they did was slow down the film and make it blurry for when the vampires moved. However, there was one good part at the end scene where Aaliyah disintegrates. This movie had no climax. The characters were one dimensional and boring. I would say unless you read the books and really loved them DON'T SEE THIS MOVIE! Overall ... 3.5/10

Dragonfly

HI MOVIE FANS, I can honestly say I was very surprised by this movie, It was a lot better than I expected, The thing with this movie is the adverting is misleading. This movie is not what you expect; it’s not horror, but a suspenseful drama. It was very well done, the directing was good, so was the cinematography. I found that for me, this movie was as good as the 6th Sense, but still no Frequency. Overall ... 7.8/10

Rollerball

HI MOVIE FANS, Okay I was very excited for this movie, with the really great poster, and even better trailer. This movie hits hard in the beginning with an incredible beginning, but loses the vibe very quick, with a laugh out loud script, with numerous plot holes, and horrible editing. Rollerball has one-dimensional characters but I thought that Chris Klein’s acting was not to bad with such a poor script. Although the game Rollerball is maybe the stupidest thing ever, this movie was entertaining to watch, maybe even if it is just to see how bad it is. Overall ... 5.0/10

Black Hawk Down

HI MOVIE FANS, okay I saw Black Hawk Down, It was intense and very visual. I felt that the movie was maybe 20 minutes too long, but it was action packed. Josh Hartnett proved that he has major star potential! Black Hawk Down needed more dialog so you could understand the characters better. Overall ... 7.3/10

LORD OF THE RINGS

HI MOVIE FANS, ok I saw LOTR and it was Incredible! This was one of the best-made movies ever. They took the pages from the book and did an incredible job bringing them to life! It was Amazing; it was truly an event movie, an epic tale! This movie looked great, sounded great, and was great. If you’re going to go see a movie this holiday it should definitely be Lord of the Rings! Overall ... 9.3/10

Vanilla Sky

HI MOVIE FANS, WOW! Talk about false advertisement! WARNING! *Wake Up* This movie is not a romantic movie, where Tom Cruise has to choose between the rich and wealthy lifestyle with Cameron Diaz or his true love Penelope Cruiz. This is a hardcore drama/Sci-fi with a wickedly evil twist ending. To start off Tom Cruise is either deformed, or wearing a mask during this movie, all parts that he is not are either in the commercials or in the trailer. Second of all this movie takes place with Tom in a Psych ward telling his psychologist Kurt Russell why his life is so screwed up in the first place. The acting in this was surprisingly better than I expected, I don't know why, but it was. Tom Cruise probably showed us his best acting job he has ever done. He had to make this movie work without his main feature, his looks. Overall … 8.0/10

Ocean's 11

HI MOVIE FANS, WOW this movie was FUN! I had a good time watching this movie, and what a sweet way of robbing a casino! This movie was on my top 10 movies to see of 2001 and it will probably finish my 3rd favourite movie of 2001. George Clooney was great alongside Brad Pitt, it was great to see Matt Damon (BIG FAN) but he did not get anytime to shine in this movie, he had a small role and the commercials made it seem different. Julia Roberts, she is the only thing that made this movie bad for me, next to the week dialog, it seemed to me that the dialog in this movie was made up of one liners, that will make the movie look funny in the commercials, but what the hell it's not like this movie was trying to win Oscars for best picture. But all for all this succeeded in what it was trying to do… be a fun caper movie. Overall … 9.2/10

Behind Enemy Lines

HI MOVIE FANS, I went to Behind Enemy Lines with no expatiations, sometimes the best way to see a movie, and I was happily surprised. This movie had the elements of a good action movie: Good CGI, likeable hero, and a decent plot. It was your typical formula survival movie, man has to make it from there to here, but this movie did not try to be something it is not, like Pearl Harbour, it was a fun action movie. Overall … 7.7/10

Spy Games

HI MOVIE FANS, I was thinking that this movie would have a more faster pace, and I did not know that this movie is all flashbacks for all scenes with very boring Robert Redford and Brad Pitt, This movie started with a really cool beginning, with Pitt almost dying and then getting busted which therefore starts are story off with one day left CIA Agent Redford, telling his story of how he knew Brad and how he taught him to be a spy, by teaching him special spy techniques such as the ~throwing up while pretending to be drunk~ or such as the ~Reflection Trick~ where you look at the reflection of a glass table and read words reversed, or the ever so popular ~drinking coffee with the old people~. It didn't really seem like Redford taught Pitt anything of much use. What was in treading in this movie was the love that Pitt showed for Catherine McCormack, the female role in the movie. What I really liked in this movie was the sniper scene with boy scout Brad Pitt on top of the hill, I felt that was done very well. All in All this movie has a good message which is don't give up in life. Overall ... 7.3/10

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

HI MOVIE FANS, I bought into this movie before I saw it, with all the advertisement, specials on T.V. This movie is a flat, cheap looking movie. This movie had a huge budget and it did not look very good at all, it was very obvious which parts were shot in front of a blue screen, and what was and was not CGI, examples of this being any part with anyone on a broom, or the three headed dog. What I did like was the first half an hour of this movie with the scenes with the snake, and the train station and then later on the broom game, even though it looked pretty bad. This movie had no climax, no breath taking scenes, or any funny scenes this movie. I have read that people are calling this the Wizard of Oz of our time, an instant classic; this movie is no classic by a long shot. Overall ... 5.0/10

Shallow Hal

HI MOVIE FANS, This movie was more than I expected, it was more than toilet humour such as the last few Farlley Brothers movies such as Me, Myself & Irene. This movie has a well-balanced plot, with a lot of humour. I think that Jack Black has sure improved since Saving Silverman. I also thought that Gwyneth Palttrow did a great job, she had to act being the one thing she is not, fat and ugly, I know they had someone play her obese character but I am talking about when we see her through Jack Black's Eyes. What I thought was really funny is when a chair, or bench would suddenly collapse, and the Jack Black would blame the wood. What bothered me in this movie was Jason Alexander character tough his physical handicap was hilarious, the thing was that this guy was a rude obnoxious sex driven pig, and if Jack Black see people from the inside, if that was the case, this guy would have been the ugliest man alive. I also found that it gets quite week near the end, with not to many jokes. This movie is a fun clean movie that is more than fat jokes; it has a good message. Overall ... 7.0/10
