I surveyed 20 print and internet critics, then averaged their ratings and ranked the movies based on those ratings. As a result, there are a few ties on the list. I hate when that happens, but what can you do?
56 different years are represented, the most frequent being 1962 and 1972, with five movies inside the Top 100 each, 1951 and 1957 are tied with four each. The most recent years with at least one movie on the list are 2004, 2000 and 1999.
