GWTW was nominated for 13 Oscars, a record that was broken by ALL ABOUT EVE in 1950 with 14 mentions, in turn TITANIC in 1998 tied ALL ABOUT EVE for number of nominations. TITANIC broke BEN HUR's record for most statues with 11!!
