There are not masks for Gekko canopies yet, so I had to do it the old fashion way.
Masking the frames off and touching up with liquid latex.
However, no Future Floor Wax was used and the canopy looks clear. A little polishing with a cotton swab is all it took to get them looking great. A Micro Mesh canopy polising kit was used. It comes with 10 cloth mesh down to 12,000 grit a haze remover, polish, foam block, and polishing cloth. It is the same stuff they use to polish full sized aircraft, and is good for all kinds of applications.. .
Again a little chip work with MM Aluminum and a ink wash.
They are not yet glued but when it comes time for that Krystal Clear will be used.
No hazing or fogging.
I went for a little more chips around the walkway.
Rear cockpit door done.
Saving that wing tip in the background for last so I have somewhere to hold on until finished.
let this dry up and in the mean time props are to be worked on.
The other cockpit door is done and attached,
and the exhuast pipes are glued in place.
The Gekko project is nearing completion..
More to come.
