Critic Review

Though this movie was curiously similar to Gibson's Braveheart, I enjoyed every moment of this lengthy film. The most appealing and suprizing character in this masterpiece had to have been the evil Colonal Tavington, played by Jason Isaacs. He was so evil that it was awesome. I love movies where the hero actually has a villain who challenges his every emotion. I would relate this person to Gladiator's Phoenix, who brought out Crowe's best qualities. Isaacs tempted Gibson to fight his heart out in every account the two met. I found some of the turns, like the burning church, to be different from the happy endings that many of the recent movies have seen. It was a total pleasure trip from the first minute to the final battle. "A thrill ride!" "Gibson at his finest!" "An American Braveheart!"
