It was a big battle between the 2 drivers throughout the race, then Ralf found himself with a 10s stop/go penulty for crossing the white line at the exit of the pit lane. British GP Highlights The British Grand Prix was back in its former July slot and the weather was perfect. Coulthard arrived at the race with a win vital to stay in the championship fight. Sadly for him though, he collided with Trulli at the first corner which subsequently caused his retirement. Schumacher and Ferrari were playing the percentages game, and with a conservative pit strategy settled for second behind the supurb Hakkinen who took a dominant win. German GP Highlights An absolutely thrilling race. A huge accident at the start caused Burti to hit the back of M Schumacher. At the restart, the Ferraris and McLarens raced like mad as the super-fast Williams' pulled away in the first 2 places. Montoya was miles in the lead when his pitstop went wrong, dropping him to third. Then a string of front-runners retired: Hakkinen, M Schumacher, Montoya, Coulthard, leaving only two men from the top three teams (R Schumacher, who won, and Barrichello who was second). As he pitted, Montoya out a stunning move on Schumacher for P1. Then both Williams' retired on the same lap, leaving Hakkinen to pit very late and emerge ahead of Schumacher and take a suberpatively good vicory.
