You don't wanna play around, you don't wanna play around with me. Oh no, I'll you!!

What's up world? It is the one and only true lady that resides in the South: Ms. Shay. Allow me to introduce myself. I am the realest, truest, downest female this side of the Mississippi. My friends know me as the "Lil' Monkey," but you can just call me "Monk." I live in Birmingham, Alabama and I attend the University of Alabama @ Birmingham. (Blazers) I am majoring in Exercise Physiology and I am minoring in English. On a daily, I play cards and dominoes. (What's up to my fellas on the fourth floor!!!) I love to socialize. *Big word for party!* I am currently single and I am looking for someone who can impress me.

Back in the days, when I was young, I'm not a kid anymore; but somedays, I sit and wish that I was a kid again...

I crawled into hell on February 27, 1980. And from that point on, life has been a constant struggle. At times it is hard to smile at the difficulties that life ensues upon you. Anyway, I have and I am continuing to make the best out of life. I have 2 of the coolest parents in the whole world. They are the strongest individuals in my life. My mother, who is the backbone of the family, has taught me to be a strong, reliable, independent, young lady, and I thank her for that strength. My father on the other hand, taught me mental discipline. He taught me how to rationalize my problems and not just fly off the hook. *Thank you mama and daddy. I love yall. I also have a brother. He is younger than I, but he is a lot bigger than I am. He has always kept me on my toes and I love him for that. "Be good Buck!"

Um Um Um... Look at me now. All Grown Up!!

Life's Troubles...

I sat back and listened to a lot of people say that I dedicated this page to my monkey. Um well, for those who must know, I never dedicated this page to anyone. I was simply showing love to those who love me. I was only keeping it real. Oh well!

However, I never thought about dedicating my page to someone. Shit, that made me feel famous. Like I'm a true author or something. Anyway, I'm dedicating this page to my late Grandfather. My grandfather lost his legs 32 years ago. He was bed-stricken, and dependent on others. Before my grandfather lost his legs, he stood well over 6 feet. After the amputation. he may have been 3'7. But when it came to raising his family, he stood well over 10 feet. He was the leader of the family. He never asked anybody to do anything that was too much trouble. I can remember growing up he would always say, "Popeye, gimmie a cigarette, or get me a drink of water." I never would hesitate in doing anything for my grandfather. On Christmas Day '99, my grandfather asked me what I got him for Christmas. I looked at him and said, "Some socks!" He looked at me and grinned. He asked me if I was doing ok in school and then he asked me when I was coming back home. I told him that I was doing fine in school and that I didn't know when the next time I was coming home. He then stated, "Pop, I always knew that when you finally got your wings that you would fly." I said, "Yep Paw-paw, I don't plan on coming home anytime soon." I never would have thought that I would've went home within the next three weeks. I wish a million times that I would've stayed home just a little while longer.

Therefore, I dedicated this page to my late grandfather! May he rest in peace. I know that he is walking hand in hand with Jesus! I love you Paw-paw!

Step into my world!
