Hexed Catz Breedz
"Hexing" is editing the game files with a special editor in order to create new breedz or colors.  These are breed files that allow you to adopt petz from the Adoption Center in the game.  I created all of these breedz myself.  It was hard work, so please respect my effort.  Do not directly link to my files, and if you distribute them, please give me credit.

.cat and .dog files need to go in Resource\Catz folder.  The files are zipped, so you need an unzipping program such as WinZip to use them.  You do not need any other breedz files or anything to use these.  Sound files are available when possible.  If sounds aren't available, they may be eventually, but the breed is currently silent (not cat/dog sounds).

Note: Some computers have errors with some versions (Windows XP and Me).  I won't be held responsible if something screws up.  I have these OS related problems myself and will let you know which breedz have the problems.  In some cases, the overwrite may work, and I will make suggestions, but if those do not work, read this and follow the directions to get the breedz to work.  (Since I have XP, I will try to fix glitches where possible, but "the fix" sometimes screws up the way colors are passed on when breeding.)

Note 2: I own and run Petz 5. I do not use the older games at this point (I believe Petz 3 is incompatible with XP...), but I do convert some of my breedz when I have the chance.  These conversions are NOT tested by me, or in some cases not at all.  I simply don't have the game to run them. If a breed crashes your game or just doesn't show up, please let me know.

Note 3: I do all my own hexing, but I sometimes "borrow" sounds.  Sound credit goes to the people who made them (which are indicated).  If someone helps me out a lot or lets me borrow some code (I always get permission), they are also indicated.  I also indicate anyone who has done a conversion.  Many thanks to all of you!
