Timeless Elements

What should I do, what should I do?
Which color would be best for you?
I search the shops for some roses,
to amplify Valentine's forces.

Frowning from the vendor's voices,
it's enough to just walk away.
I'm off to make my own choices,
to get it right on this special day.

So many ideas, so many meanings;
Red of course is the color of love,
but I feel more than that, more feelings.
White, to borrow the meaning of the turtledoves.

I still remember the first night I noticed you're there,
as well as the first night I loved that you're here.
Maybe lavender to remember it once more,
love at first sight and enchantment forevermore.

Forevermore... for this there is something:
A blue rose is that which is hardly nothing.
It signifies love eternal, happiness and will,
but am I ready to say that? Do I fit the bill?

I could use yellow, but it really seems to me,
that friendship is on the other extreme.
Sure, we are friends and it's a fact,
but there's more to us than just that deem.

Peach, the color of some peoples' skin,
I could use it to express my appreciation,
yet it's so limitless it's almost a sin.
You are indeed a very deep fascination.

Out of choices, out of time.
I'm also running out of rhyme.
Though what won't run out
is my love, so don't you pout.

White is the presence of all others,
so why don't we combine these colors?
Petals of rainbows change to pearl white,
together with a red, red rose this night.

One rose, it means "I love you",
some say it's like that anyway.
One alone can't show you how I feel,
so instead I will give you two today.

The timeless elements of fire and ice,
together the two roses say unity.
I hope you will find this to suffice,
for we are as close as close can be.

They say three in a group is best;
a stool with three legs is sturdy.
I know what I would like to use,
but I'll settle for simple, clean, and not too wordy.

Until we're ready to acknowlegde eternity,
I think we'll both be content with unity.
And though this poem may one day be nevermore,
I intend to say,

I love you,

Forevermore.
