To me the pentacle represents the five elements; Earth Air Fire Water and Spirit. It also represents colors; starting at the top going clockwise is purple for spirit, blue for water, green for earth, yellow for air and red for fire. The circle of the pentacle to me represents protection. The pentagram also represents the human in spread eagle position the pentacle represents me being protected by the magick circle. Therefore in general the pentacle is a symbol of protection.
