BUSI 2750 Business Information Systems:This course explores the role of Information Systems in today's business organizations. The course introduces the major components of business management (HR, Operations, Marketing, Finance, etc.) and their related information technology systems (HRMS, MIS, DSS, AI, AP/AR, etc.).
HDWR 1000 Hardware I:This is an introduction to the hardware components that make up today's Personal Computer. This course deals with PC's that are based on the Intel IA32 platform. In this course students will learn about the characteristics and purposes of the basic components of a PC and will be able to disassemble and reassemble a typical PC.
ICOM 1001 IT:On-Ramp All Applicants to Computer Studies Programs at the Nova Scotia Community College are asked to write a Post Admission Review (PAR) to identify their basic computer literacy skills. Applicants who demonstrate weaknesses in specific areas of the PAR (or who voluntarily elect to take the course without pre-testing) will be enrolled in the 18 hour, ICOM1001 Information Technology On-Ramp. The course will cover such topics as basic file management skills, basic email skills, Internet browsing, and document creation, editing, and printing.
