Patty's "New Lifestyle Changes"

Hello everyone! I started this page way back in the beginning of the year....well, really I think I started it way back in 2004, went through 2005 with good intentions but stayed at a yo-yo pace. I started out 2006 at around 185, lost a few pounds & gained them back, lost a few again & gained them back....you get the picture. *sigh* I've got to do something to get this weight off. "For Diet"
Dieters Prayer
Give me strength, Oh Lord, I pray -
Help me make it through the day.
Deliver me from snacks and sweets,
Keep my mind off high-cal treats,
Tempt me not with French cuisines.
Bid me flee soft drink machines,
Turn my eyes from ice cream bars,
Stay my hand from cookie jars,
Til I'm back in shape again
Hang in there with me, Lord, Amen.

The diet part of it is going to pretty much stay the same as before. I'll list it below....
Breakfast:
  • Fruit
  • Fruit Juice

    NOTE:
    I'll have a sweet fruit breakfast one morning and an acid fruit breakfast the next morning.


    Lunch:
  • Large Salad with avocado and alfalfa sprouts or nuts and seeds (or)
  • A vegetable salad
  • One cooked green vegetable
  • A starch



    Supper:
  • Large Raw Salad,
  • Two Steamed (non-starchy)Veggies
  • A Protein





    *I've also changed some other things besides just the foods I eat. I've stopped drinking ANY type of carbonated drink! (Sodas, carbonated waters, & etc.)or & I've cut down on sweets. I'll still have a dessert after supper 2-3 times per week but if I see the weightloss slowing down or stalling completely, I'll stop those too.

    "For Exercise"
    EXERCISE!
    Every day I am bombarded
    In each direction that I turn
    By those who claim that EXERCISE
    Causes flab to crash and burn!
    I did jumping jacks and sit ups
    Went out and bought that darn machine
    The one that guarantees in 30 days
    I'd be trim and fit and lean...
    I put it in the extra room
    That we affectionately call the "gym"
    With all the other paraphenalia
    That will one day make me slim!
    Ab mats for doing crunches
    A small tramp to run in place
    That awful, go-nowhere pedaling bike
    That only leaves me red of face!
    I have workout clothes and sweat bands
    Even a "get-fit" coffee cup!
    But that scale hasn't budged an inch
    So, I'm on the verge of giving up!
    I've just about convinced myself
    That it's true what some folks say...
    You have heard it too......Eat Right!
    Get Fit? Die anyway!!
    So for those who are devoted
    To trying to make me over, PLEASE!
    If God wanted me to touch my toes
    He would have put them on my knees!
    I believe He loves us as we are
    That includes both big AND small
    So when I reach the gates of Heaven
    It will be with flab and all!

    Bryan & I will walk every night. We will be walking 3 different routes: a 1 mile, a mile & 1/2, & a 2 mile! There's also a 3 mile but we've only walked it once....(It about killed me! LOL!!) We'll choose a different one each night. I'll be going to CURVES 3 times per week. (M-W-F) One of the "family gifts" for Christmas this year is a "Multi-Strength Weight Loss Gym System" I'll be working out on that T-TH. I'm also going to be working out to fitness tape (aerobic/stretching) now that Bryan has gotten me a VCR in our bedroom. There's no way that I'm going to do ANY form of exercising in front of windows where I might be seen! LOL!! The exercise tapes will be done periodically on
    T-TH, when I don't work out on the Gym System.
