Sometimes the many different perspectives are hard to understand. In any disagreement, all parties believe that they are right, and the others wrong. Most would argue that one side must be right. Some would go so far as to say that right and wrong is a difference of rationality, but isn't that quite arrogant? That is to say, doesn't each person believe themselves to be right? Since no two people agree on everything, wouldn't this claim imply that the person who made it is the only rational being? This is obviously not the case, as our defining characteristic as a species is our ability to rationalize. To add to that, we have witnessed major fundamental changes on our "agreed upon" perspective as a society. Agreed upon meaning that the majority of the society agrees that a rational person in their society would have these beliefs.
One could argue that several leaps have been made in discovery and understanding, but isn't that just a different way of looking at things that have been studied for centuries? Our scientific evaluation of the earth has, at best brought it from being a wondrous magical being to a composite of just dirt and rock to be studied and manipulated. So what if we claim to understand it better. Does it seem logical to say that this understanding has caused us to appreciate our home more? Since these discoveries have been made, we have used up most of the life blood running underground. We have piled concrete and steel on her surface. We have learned to manipulate even the air we breathe until it is no longer fit for our lungs. I'm not making a claim as to whether it is "right" or "wrong" to do these things, but the Native Americans had a saying: one must consider the impact of every action they take on the next seven generations. This saying makes one think about their children, grandchildren, and on to the next seven generations of their kin. There is no right or wrong, there is only consideration. If we want our descendants to be able to enjoy this society we have created, we must be aware of our every action, as we are running out of resources. I know, I've gone off on an environmental tangent, but only to show the validity of two very opposing perspectives. Yes, we have conveniences that no other society before us could have dreamed of. Yes we know the structure of matter, and of life itself. We can even manipulate these things. But what is it doing to us?
We've spent most of our existence searching for a legendary treasure called truth. Once we begin to look inside ouselves, we will see the faint glow. Truth exists within each person's heart. Each individual's perspective is absolutely true for them, and that's all truth needs to be valid. We will never find more than that, as each person's truth is their own. Trust the truths that you hold, and trust in others to find their own. Realize that perspective comes from personal experiences and growth, and is very fragile. You can never fully understand another person's view, although discussing different perspectives can open up a person to infinite possibilities. Sometimes someone else will offer up a jewel of wisdom that came from the recesses of their heart. Become a collector of perspectives. No physical being can look through the eyes and hearts of every other being to ever exist. If they could, what they would see is a complete truth, every possible perspective that has shaped reality. The Life Force is looking through our eyes and hearts right now. It, too would like to understand truth of its own nature.
