CLOUDS: (Allah knows best)

24:43 "Seest thou not that Allah makes the clouds move gently, then joins them together, then makes them into a heap? Then wilt thou see rain issue forth from their midst. And He sends down from the sky mountain masses (of clouds) wherein is hail: He strikes therewith whom He pleases and He turns it away from whom He pleases. The vivid flash of its (/those, hails and clouds) lightning nearly blinds the sight."

Cumulous-clouds are formed when wind drives smaller clouds together, and as they come together rain is formed. Also description about clouds as mountains on the sky is excellent, cumulous-clouds are size of from 4.7 to 5.7 miles (7-9 kilometers), totally size of biggest mountains (on earth). Biggest miracle here is that lightning?s are told to have origin in hails ("its lightning"), and modern science has found out that lightning?s are produced by effect of hails in clouds.

7:57 Says about (from water) "heavy" clouds that Allah lets move and rain down, over 300 000 tons of water is HEAVY. Also here and in 45:5 is spoken about winds as a sign, because only very fine and complex system prevents (other planets like) giant storms in earth when difference of temperature between poles and equator is over 120 degrees of Celsius.

30:48 Also describes mechanism how rain is produced, how clouds come together and from their midst comes rain. Not obvious things (clouds/hails/rains) in the Saudi-Arabian desert.

72:16 "If they (the Arabian pagans?) had (only) remained on the right way, We should certainly have bestowed on them rain (/water/stands for all kinds of blessings) in abundance."

Here is good question to think. Could it be that next ice-age would had come earlier if there had not been need for (spreading of) Islam? Anyway it would have come to Arabs as certain as it is coming to us for them also, were there Islam or not. Satellite pictures have found old places of rivers under Saudi-Arabian desert, so we know that in times of ice age climate is totally different there. This could also mean that if people in times of ice age had not gone astray, ice age would not have ended and deserts of Sahara and Arabia would still be green.

MOUNTAINS: (Allah knows best)

16:15 "And He has set up on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you; and rivers and ways: that ye may guide yourselves."
78:7 "And the mountains as pegs"
79:32 "And the mountains had He firmly fixed."

Koran in Arabic?s gives more better describing word than "pegs", like pillars or hook of a tent. Shape of a mountain always has bigger mass under ground (like icebergs under water), and shape of mass going kilometers underground is like mountains upside down pointing to centre of earth. And where mountains are born, there continental plates are in collision, resulting as mountains forming between plates making collisions softer and reducing earthquakes (in numbers and Richter?s) a lot.

18:47 "And the day on which We will cause the mountains to pass away and you will see the earth a leveled plain and We will gather them and leave not any one of them (mountains) behind."
27:88 "And you see the mountains, you think them to be solid, and they shall pass away as the passing away of the cloud-- the handiwork of Allah Who has made every thing thoroughly; surely He is Aware of what you do."

We know that erosion will eventually level mountains to ground, our earth is still so young planet that it has not yet completely happened, in billion years it will look completely different in here.

69:14 "And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,-"
73:14 "One Day the earth and the mountains will be in violent commotion. And the mountains will be as a heap of sand poured out and flowing down."
19:90 "At it the skies are ready to burst, the earth to split asunder, and the mountains to fall down in utter ruin,"

In these three ayats is perfectly described effects of erosion by words like "powder" and "heap of sand poured out and flowing down". And in 69:14 is described even what will allow this erosion to level huge mountains which are growing from crashing of continental plates, with informing movement of continental plates (and mountains moving along above them) that will eventually lead into end of mountains growing, as continental plates moving under others are finally under them and there will be no more collapses forming mountains (other plates are moving away from each others towards huge oceans), when erosion will start to "kick in", in other words when erosion will consume mountains more than they grow. This "day" in 18:47 and 73:14 describes well how time is different for Allah, He is not tied into our time-system based on going around sun, and that "day" may also tell us about length of "Judgment Day" before judgment (or even be that "day").
