A: It depends on the mom and the gender. Females tend to be smaller. Fizzgig is heftier than Pookie and Munchkin, so her puppies might weigh more. None of our dogs weigh over 15 lbs.
Q: Do pekingese have breathing problems?
A: A lot of our dogs snore, some more than others. Otherwise there is the occasional sneezing fit, but nothing else that we've had problems with.
Q: Do their eyes pop out?
A: They are not as bug eyed as pugs and I think it's a possiblity, but once again not a problem I've had.
Q: How long do pekingese live?
A: I have not had my dogs that long, so I don't know this answer from experience. I just know that most people who are buying a puppy because a previous peke died tell me theres live 12-14 years.
Q: Why don't you ship?
A: I don't ship because I care a lot about my dogs and their puppies! Just think of sending a small child all alone to an unfamiliar place and being stored with a bunch of luggage. Would you do that?
Q: Why don't you have a phone number on your website?
A: 80% of emails I get are from people who don't end up purchasing a puppy. For personal reasons, I can't be answering the phone all day and evening.
Q: Are females better than males?
A: Once neutered, we find that the males are just as sweet and friendly. The males tend to be more playful also. And when it comes to sleeping on the bed with us, it is always the same three boys!
Q: Why CKC and not AKC?
A: AKC is all about showing dogs. They don't seem to care that their breed standards cause health problems. Also, they charge way too much money! CKC is more reasonable and you get all the papers A LOT faster!
Q: What is their temperament?
A: I compare them to cats. They are very loyal and loving, but they will be affectionate on their terms. They love to play, but also love to just lay around and be lazy. They tend to be able to get comfortable anywhere.
