In the shadows
Lurk my fears
Sadness, anger
Pain and tears

Hounded by them
As I walk
Mimicked by them
When I talk

All alone
With my doubts
And no voice
With which to shout

Silent, peaceful
Dead of night
Walk the streets
Stars shine bright

Haunted eyes
Hidden pain
But no salvation
Can I gain

Life has left me
High and dry
She doesn’t love me
But I can’t cry

My eyes are dry
No tears to spill
And in the greatest sorrow
My eyes won’t fill

Teasing, taunting
Laughing at me
But she doesn’t know it
Because she can’t see

How I feel
Every day
When I listen
To what she says

Anger burning
Jealousy
I’m seeing red
While she doesn’t see

I need to tell her
How I feel
But I just can’t
The pain’s too real

I laugh, I joke
I lock it away
Now I’ve wrote this poem
Just to say

I need her to hear this
I want her to say
That she’ll stop what she’s doing
Let my pain slip away

I’ve tried to ignore it
Brushed it aside
But it’s eating away
At my heart, right inside

I’m trying to tell her
But she’s saying it’s me
Making this my fault
Almost making me see

That I’m in the wrong
For thinking this way
And I can’t argue back
I don’t know what to say

I’ve even apologised
I’m finally crying
I can’t set things right
Even though I’m trying

I always told myself
That this never would transpire
And I feel such a jerk
A cruel, evil liar

And she probably doesn’t care
Probably doesn’t know
Thinks I’m a bitch
And I just ought to go

And jump from a cliff
Into the sea
Do anything
So I just cease to be…
