Multiplayer Overview
Welcome to the wonderful world of Return to Castle Wolfenstein
multiplayer. RTCW multiplayer is a team-oriented game that requires
players on each side to cooperate in order to better their chances of
success on each map. Every level will present each side with a series of
objectives. The side that completes their objectives first wins that
round.
There are three modes of play for multiplayer, and objectives may vary
depending on what multiplayer mode you are playing in.
- Objective mode
Challenges players to complete a series of objective for their team,
with the first team to do so winning that round.
- Stopwatch mode
Similar to Objective mode, but once one team wins a round the teams
switch sides (Axis become Allies, and vice versa) and they replay
the map, with the attackers trying to beat the previous team's time.
- Checkpoint mode
Has players battling for control of a number of flags scattered
throughout the level. The first team to capture all the flags wins.
Not all maps can be played in all modes.
There are also some important differences between single player and
multiplayer games:
- The Panzerfaust, Venom Gun, and Flame Thrower will slow you down
when you equip them
- Barbed wire hurts when you touch it.
- Stamina drains faster when you sprint or jump.
- The Panzerfaust has a larger blast radius, but has a pause between
pulling the trigger and launch of the rocket.
This guide gives a detailed description of the multiplayer game and
provides information and strategies for each of the classes.
