"It was a wonderful and loving relationship. When we looked at one another we saw a dream that became tangible. We looked into the well of Happily Ever After and saw that it was within our grasp. For a time we reached deep into those pools and reveled in the mysteries that could only be shared by two people after they have shared their breath of life and combined their souls. And for those moments we said that we were willing to give up everything for those dreams. In a moment that lasted like a splinter in the mind's eye: family, responsibility, duty…even life should one of us leave this world first…all of it at an exchange rate that I don't think anyone else could understand.
