Alright, another interview this morning. I think it went rather well... not what I *want* to be doing, but hey, a jobs a job right? Besides, aside from the hours, this one sounds like fun. So, this one is with a construction/engineering firm, Jacobs Engineering. They building some boiengineering lab for Amcor(?). Regardless, they're building something! My job would basically be an office manager type position. There would be like 20-30 other office sort of people (engineers, etc.) plus over 200 construction guys and I would basically be working with all of them! Ack! Talk about hectic! Love it! Money also is pretty decent, $14-$15/hr + over time. Heh, no dressing up! That'd be nice!! This one's a whopping two miles from the house. :-) The only thing that sucks, hardcore, are the hours... its 48 hours a week, 7 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 7 a.m. to 3:30 on Fridays. Ouch! I'd have to be rollin my ass out of bed at like 6 a.m.!!! Double ouch! *But* that's time & a half for the additional 8 hours a week.... hehehe niiiiiiice! That would be very nice to have some cash saved up for when school starts.
Plus I was thinking, its better that I didn't get that job I liked so much, it would've sucked when I quit to go back to school. It would've been like leaving GTHKO all over again! (That totally sucked by the way!) Yea! So! I need a crappy job I hate that I'll look forward to quitting! hehehe
Again, they want someone ASAP, and I *think* the interview went well. I should be hearing soon!! In the meantime, I headed out to the mountains!

I'm supposed to hear about that job today with Finberg Law Firm! I'm dieing here! I wanted to take a ride out to the mountains today, do some exploring. But I'm not too confident as to how well my cel phone works out there & this is not one phone call I'm willing to risk missing! So now I'm stuck here, being nervous!! Its 2:46, what's up? Why haven't they called? They said they'd contact me either way... arrrrgggghhh! Should I call them? What on earth would I say? "Hi, this is Shannon, ya gonna hire me or what?" LOL this unemployed thing is sooooo old.

Shopping! Yay!
Can you believe it? September 1st already! What is up with that?! Ive been here in Boulder for a whole 3 weeks now. Def seems longer than 3 weeks, but on the other hand, still seems like Christmas was the other day..
Well, one good thing about it being September 1st & Labor Day.. I got to go shopping! Yay! Consignment shop down the street had a 50% off sale.. I couldn't resist. I needed to stock up for winter! Yea.. that's it... So! Here's what I got:

-Baby blue tank top
-Navy blue board shorts w/ orange & white stripes
-Yellow, white, blue, green, & orange striped shirt (for yoga class)
-Super velety soft tan knit sweater
-A long wrap around jean skirt
-An orange, brown, tan, & white knit sweater
-Super velvety soft brown knit sweater
-"Brownish/blackish/blueish/I don't know what color" courderoys
-Yellow sweater with navy blue/white stripes across the chest
-Plain gray shirt
-Black slacks with nice indian embroidery on the cuffs
-Grey & white pinstriped skirt (great for work)
-3 pairs of jeans

Who-hoo! That was fun.. spoke with Scott today, sounds like I may actually be getting my deposit back on my apartment. He actually paid people to go in & clean it! Wow! I'm impressed! So, that'll be nice, few extra bucks to send to the credit card people. :-)
I should find out tomorrow whether or not I got that job with Finberg Law Firm... ::pins & needles here people:: I'm gonna be crushed if I don't get it... I hope everyone else they interviewed sucked! Heh, was that mean? Well, I hope they just liked me as much as they seemed to. Well, I think I shall ride my bike downtown & have some coffee so I can chill. ;-P

Typed this in last week, for some reason it didn't post...

Great interview!! Def the sort of job I want! Interviewed with a law office right down the street, the girl who interviewed me had a nose ring & was wearing jeans & a sweatshirt. The head partner was very cool. Left DC b/c of the 'cookie-cutter-ness' of it all. (Yes! Take that!) Anyways, they are both attys, I would be assisting them. They do a variety of different types of law real estate, estate and asset protection, corporate, business, music & entertainment, IP, & employment. They seemed to like me... I def liked them! He even said he was impressed with my 'gusto for life' as well as my resume. Yay! Say your prayers and light your candles for me ladies and gentlemen. I should be finding out *real* soon.

Here's their website:

Alriiiiiiight! Just came from the temp agency, they seemed impressed. Melinda said she may have some work for me coming up for next week! Data entry ::yawn:: but hey, its money in my pocket!
*And* Finberg Law Firm has contacted me for an interview! Who-hoo! We are currently in the midst of a great phone-tag game. I am excited, I know I can do this job. Legal Assistant for a small 2 attorney firm, some office management duties. Should be decent pay, and they are seriously *maybe* a quarter mile from my house. Yay! Alright peoples, you better be wishing me luck!

Found my ticket! Yay! ::Happy Dance::
Just in time to ride my bike down to the church (?!) where Thich Naht Hahn was speaking. Just a bit odd huh? A buddhist monk speaking in a Christian church when the Shambhala Center & Naropa University (both buddhist) are within one mile. He really speaks about universal truths mostly anyways so I guess it wasn't that odd..
Anyways, ran into my friend Heather there. She just recently moved out here from LA, she hasn't returned my calls from last weekend so I figured I'd pissed her off somehow. Turns out she's just having a hard time adapting to the move & stuff. I can definitely hear that. We went next door for meditation afterwards.
Walked around Pearl Street after that, had a snack & a glass of wine, rode the bike home (up hill this time... argh!). So, I'm fricken beat!! Rich & Sarah went out to dinner together (awww, how cute!). They invited me to watch a movie with them over at the Forest House later with their old roommates. Def debating on it... maybe after a nap.

Aaaaahhhhh.... :-)

Took an Ashtanga yoga class this morning with Richard Freeman himself(!!) over at the Yoga Workshop. For those you to whom that means nothing... its almost akin to taking a Bikram's Yoga class with Bikram Chouderoy (sp?) himself. Ashtanga style yoga is his child so to speak.
Wow! Absolutely amazing! The room was *packed* seriously, wall to wall mats, the only space was just wide enough for Richard to walk back and forth while instructing us. We got to know our mat-neighbors quite well. heh This is the third class I've taken over at the Yoga Workshop, and let me tell you, this guy is a *phenomenal* (sp?) teacher! I believe I may have finally found my 'yoga home'. Yay! (Oh yea, lots of hotties in the class too! Who-hoo! Bonus-points!)
So yea, I'm actually rather frustrated at the moment. I had a free ticket to hear Thich Nhat Hanh speak today, but I can't seem to locate it. Thich Nhat Hanh is a Vietnamese buddhist monk, very big advocate for peace & practicing mindfulness. It seems the free tickets 'sold out' and now I can't go back to get another. I'm *quite* bothered by the fact that I can't find it! Has anybody seen a small red piece of paper about yey big? :-/
Hrm, oh well, I figure even if I can't make it, I'll survive. The weather has cooled off quite a bit because of all the rain we've had so I'm thinking of sneaking off into the mountains. Its absolutely perfect weather for a nice hike!
I rode out Colorado Blvd. the other day and found my own personal *spot* at the very end of an extremely winding road peeking out and over the resevoir. (Yes, Gretchen, this is where I called you from.) Here's a pic:

Very chill up there, very chill.
