about me.
i doubt if anything i say here will justify me. *that sounded conceited* but honestly, i just really believe that there is ultimately more to a person than what can be said of him or her. don't ya think? Ü but let's give this a shot. i'm cristina, although usually people just call me cris. i'm a 20-yr old senior from ateneo de manila university majoring in AB english literature. why take up english lit? well, i had always loved reading. as my friend put it,i'm a "voracious reader." i love any and every book, from children's lit to teen fiction, to just about everything. and when i was a high school senior at woodrose trying to decide what course to take, i didn't know what to pick. so i picked something that i liked even if i wasn't sure what i'd do after school. but now, after three years of taking up literature, i'm glad i picked it. it's not all easy as most people think it is coz we have to deal with literary theory and in fact also literary philosophy [the technical aspects of my course that i really hate], but it's fun. and so many possibilities are open to me after graduation! Ü i'm currently thinking about taking up LAW... we'll see! i'll take the UP LAE though and the Ateneo Law exam just to keep my options open. another idea i had was to take up my masteral in Special Education. i had always wanted to teach. oh but i still have this whole school year to decide. Ü as for my family... well, i'm the eldest of two. hehe! not much, huh? oh but the amount of cousins i have on both my mom's and my dad's sides make up for that. Ü my dad is the youngest of six kids. we're the smallest family among them. that means i have a TON of cousins in my dad's side. and since my dad's the youngest [he was an oops baby, born 19 years after the eldest], i have really old cousins who are married and have kids already. you can imagine how big our family get-togethers are! my cousin once said we're about 100.Ü my mom's side is a bit smaller. she's the eldest among seven. but we're only 19 cousins on that side. smaller, but still a lot. Ü oh and since my mom's the eldest, i'm the eldest grandkid in that side. and most of my cousins are little babies! we're three in college, two in high school, and the rest are either in grade school or aren't studying yet. what else can i say? hmmm... i'm an alabang girl [i don't like the sound of that though] at heart, even if i live in makati now. i grew up in alabang, and all my friends are there, not to mention my cousins lived right behind me! i know all the streets of alabang, i know the best parking spot at the town center, and i've got TONS of memories in alabang. i'm not sure if you can say that i'm kikay coz i do play sports [or i used to]. i was part of the soccer varsity and volleyball varsity back in high school. i like to bike [although there's no space here in makati and my dad gave my mountain bike away Ö] and walk -- but i walk only with friends.Ü i don't think i can go walking alone. oh and i tried badminton too, and it's fun!!! i'm not too good though.Ö there's a girly side of me too, though. i LOVE to shop!!! i love being in the mall and looking for things to buy. and i am eternally in the parlor for my foot spa, my manicure, eyebrow threading, wax, and hair treatments.Ü it's not that i do it out of vanity [although that's part of it]; i want to be clean. and i just find that having a manicure pedicure is better than my cleaning my nails myself. they're more efficient in the parlor. oh and i love pink, yellow and most of those girly colors. and all those cutsey stuff.. =Þ ok i think that's enough. doubt though that you know me more. see, told ya this wouldn't do justice!
