My Big Fat Wicca Wedding

Chapter 1

This story begins two months after Everything Changed in One Night.

Phoebe Halliwell is sitting at the kitchen table with her face resting in the palms of her hands.  Phoebe can’t believe the stress that she under with this wedding. Marry the Source of all evil was less stressful.  Jason had given her another fifteen names to add to the guest list.  Phoebe just could not understand why she couldn’t get Jason to understand that you just could not add to the guest list four days before the wedding.

Phoebe feels someone laying their hand on her shoulder.  She raises her face out of her hand to see her big sister, Piper standing there with concern all over her glowing face. “Honey, what’s wrong?”

“Jason added another fifteen names to the guest list” explains Phoebe wearily.

“Pheebs, I don’t know why you don’t just tell him no.”

“I can’t do that, Piper” Phoebe is so tired of everyone telling her what to do and she sighs in frustration.

“Why” asked Piper putting Wyatt in his high chair?

“Because he has been so understand about the whole Wicca thing, so he adds more names to the guest list four days before the wedding. It makes me have to explain to the caterer why we have to had more food and hear him frantically yell at me in French.”

“I see why you shouldn’t tell him” Piper said sarcastically.

Phoebe glares at her big sister. She needed her support right now not her criticism.  Phoebe sighs and picks up her coffee cup. “You don’t have to sarcastic.” Phoebe takes another long sip of her coffee.

Orbs start to appear in the kitchen and when they disperse Paige is standing in the kitchen.  Paige is standing there with one of her daughters in her arms and the other two in the stroller.  Paige lets out a low breath.

“Why are you orbing” asked Phoebe?

“Because it’s easier then calling for the doorway with Kayley turning herself invisible, Kiley blowing green orbs and Kaitlin flying things around the room,” said Paige dryly.

Phoebe raises her eyebrows and glances at Piper. “Where’s Sean?”

“He had a faculty meeting this morning so that left me getting the girls ready alone” explained Paige handing Kiley to Piper. “Piper, are you sure you could keep them.  If I didn’t have meeting of my own all morning I would take them with me.” Paige didn’t let Piper answer. “They’ve all been feed. There are diapers in the diaper bag but if you need more you know where they are and there’s formula and bottles, Am I forgetting anything, Oh well, I will call you later. I have to go.”

“Paige, I’m sure the nanny elf will be here in about an hour” explicated Piper.  Paige kissed her two girls in the stroller and then turns and kisses the little girl in Piper arms.  Paige hugs her big sister, “Thank.” Paige orbs out.

“Paige you have an appointment with the seamstress for you fitting” yelled Phoebe. Phoebe looks at Piper. “What? She’s missed the last three fittings.”

“I think maybe you should switch to Decaf” suggested Piper smiling.

Phoebe looks down at her watch. “Darn it I’m late. Elise is going to kill me.” Phoebe hugs her sister, kisses her belly, and then kisses her nieces and her nephew. “Bye.”

Piper shakes her head. “I think your Aunt Phoebe lost her mind. I’ll get your breakfast Wyatt.”

Five women in there early to mid-twenties are hiding behind crates in a derelict warehouse. They all were breathing heavily. “Kat do you see him” whispered one of the other girls.

“No, Mel shh, he might hear you” said Kat.

An energy ball hits the crate that they were hiding behind.  Kat looks at Mel, “What?”

One of the other women forms a green orb in her hand. “I’ll give you guys cover so you can flank him.”

Kat shakes her head, “No, Ki it’s to dangers.”

She didn’t listen, she smiles and stands up and starts to launch green orbs that was causing small explosion when they hit something. Two of the women went to the left and the other two went to the right. Ki volleys back and forth with the warlock.  She would throw a green orb and he would throw an energy ball.  Ki kept it up until her sisters and cousins got into position.

Okay, Ki you can stop giving cover we’re in position” she heard it in her head telepathically. Ki sighs and hides behind the crates.  On three, ready, One, two, three,” she heard telepathically.

They all jump up from their hiding places with a potion in hand to throw at the warlock but he had already thrown a potion on the floor of the warehouse and a portal open up. The warlock walks on through.

                “Ki hurry up” yells Kat.

Ki comes running to catch up with her sisters and cousins.

“Kat, what are we going to do” asked another of the women?

Kat pushes her through the portal, “Kay, where going to follow.”

The other four women follow the other woman through the portal.  They come out rolling on the other side.

“Hey you can’t be in here” yelled a large man in a hard hat.

Kat gave a quick wave “Sorry we’ve got a little lost. Is this the way out” she asked pointing towards the door.

The large man in the hard hat nods.  Ki, Kat, Kay, Mel and the other woman leaves the building quickly.

“Okay, that doesn’t make much sense, seems that is an abandon building” said the woman with them.

“Em, maybe this will” said Mel holding up a newspaper. “It says it July 7, 2004.”

“What” said the other women in unison?

Chapter 2

“Give me that” said Kat snatching the paper out of Mel’s hand.

At the top of the newspaper, printed in large, bold print, The Bay Mirror.  Kat skims the headlines. There were articles on the war in Iraq.  There is a piece about an on going investigation about an unsolved murders and a quote from the lead inspector Lt. Darryl Morris. Kat flips to the paper until she comes to the metro section and a picture and a header Ask Phoebe.

Em is looking over Kat’s shoulder. “Hey that’s Mom’s column. She’s talking about stress of a wedding on a couple’s relationship. What’s the date on the paper” Em asked.

Kat flips back to the front page. “July 7, 2004.”

“Hey, that’s four days before her wedding,” Em stating the obvious.

Kat folds the paper and chucks it into the trash. “Let’s go, what’s going on right now is not our concern.   Where here to stop the warlock, Riffelo and nothing else,” Kat said coolly.

“Then I guess we better get to the Book of Shadows and we better orb and flash into the attic, so we’re not seen” added Mel.

Mel stands there and a look of panic crosses her faces and her eyes widen in shock. “I can’t orb. Why can’t I orb. We came back here with you. We should still have our powers.”

“We didn’t come back in time using our power” Ki said with a sigh.

“So what does that means we don’t have the use of our powers” inquired Em?

“That’s exactly what she means” exasperated Kat.

“This is your fault you sent us through that portal. Now we’re stuck in the past with no powers. This is just freaking great Kat, so just tell me how we’re going to stop a warlock with no power” said Mel aggravated.

Kat knew that Mel had every right to be upset but taking it out on her was not going to fly. “You didn’t have to come, now did you? You could have stayed back and hid until the probes left the area. So if you don’t like how I’m running things then find someone else to follow because I never asked to be in charge and in fact I’m so sick and tired of everything.  Two weeks ago when I was hurt maybe you should have done all of us a favor and let me die.” Kat turns and walks away.

Mel looks over to Ki and Kay. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to upset her. I’m just frustrated that we’re stuck in the past with no powers; that’s all” she said shyly.

Ki walks up to her and pulls her into a hug. “We know Mel but what Kat has been through the last few months or will go through.” Ki shakes her head to clear the confusion. “She not the same and I doubt if she every will be.  She blames him and I don’t think she really what’s to change what every happen to make him change; now I think she what’s to make him pay.”

Mel sighs, “She scarified the most, who can blame her but still Ki. I can’t –”

“I know and neither can we, so we agree. We save them both whether they want us to or not” said Ki cutting her off.

“We better catch up with her” said Kay interrupting their personal conversation.

The all give a quick jog to catch up.

The nanny elf is sitting on half of a blown up couch, her face is cover in soot. She is sitting in a daze. “Ma’am they work like some kind of team and I think they can communicate with each other.  I’ve taken care of many magical babies but those three. Are you sure they’re good?”

“Yes, I’m sure. They’re good. Their mother is my sister and their father is the king of the druids. They’re just testing their limits” Piper said firmly.

“Ma’am they blow up the couch and then they levitated the grandfather clock in the air before they flew it across the room and made it crash in the wall which caused your son to join into the fun. He started to orb things away from me when I went to pick them up. I know you’re expecting and you need my help but really I don’t know how much more I can take.”

Piper knew exactly how the nanny elf was feeling because she was feeling the same way.  She is getting tired of cleaning up after them. Piper hears giggling and looks over towards the playpen and a stuff animal was bouncing along the floor. “That’s it! Leo...Leo get down here now,” yelled Piper.

Orbs start to appear in the living room and then Leo is standing there in front of her. “What? What’s wrong? Are you and the babies are okay” Leo asked with concern laying his hand on her belly.

Piper covers his hand with hers. “These babies are fine but those are not” she said pointing towards her son and nieces.

Leo looks around the destruction in the living room. “What happen in here, a demon attack?”

“Hah,” said the nanny elf. “A demon would cause less destruction.”

Leo frowns at her then sees the stuff animal bouncing along the floor. “You’re telling me that the kids did this?” Leo said with a hint of skepticism to his voice.

“Yes because that’s exactly what happened” retorted Piper. She was no longer going to hide her irritation.  “I called Paige and got her assistant.  She is still in her meeting with Darryl about the murders of the young women. I guess they all go to the university.  Sean has a class and all I got was his voice mail. So I’ve called you” Piper lets out a slow breath trying to calm her nerves.

“Did you separate them” he offered his wisdom?

“Yes” said Piper discordantly. “But when they can all orb or flash, it’s a little hard to keep them apart. I think I liked it better when the girls would just scream at the top of their lungs when you tried to separate them.

Leo flinches internally by Pipers harshness. “But, honey, I have–.”

Piper holds up her hand and cuts him off. “Oh no you don’t, Wyatt is your son and these little angels with crooked halos are your nieces and we–,” Piper points at the nanny elf then at herself. “–are at our wits end, so you are either going to take Wyatt with you or you are going to get us more help” demanded Piper.

Leo sighs and looks over at his son and nieces. He walks over and picks his son up. “Are you giving mommy problems little man?”

“No” said Wyatt innocently. He continues to shake his head obviously emphasis his point.

“Well Mommy, what’s you to go with me” Leo said to his son.

“Me not want to go. Me wants to stay her with Ki, Kay, and Kat,” said Wyatt.

“I’m sorry but you four are making Mommy very tired. Do you remember when I told you we had to help Mommy because she gets tired lot easier now?” Wyatt nods his head. “Well son you and your cousins are not helping Mommy you’re making her upset.”

Wyatt starts to cry, “Me sorry Mommy.”  Wyatt reaches out for his mother and Piper steps forward and takes him from Leo. Wyatt wraps his little arms around his mother’s neck. “Me be good, Me make Ki, Kay, and Kat be good. I pomise” begged Wyatt.

Piper smiles and pulls him a little tighter to her. He was breaking down all the walls. She built up during the day’s events or she was just too tired to care. “You promise you’re going to be a good boy.”  Wyatt nods, “Me be good, pomise.” Piper sighs and caved to her son’s pleads. “Leo, I guess you can go back to whatever you need to do.”

Leo can see the weariness written all over his wife’s face. “I think I’ll stay and give you two, a little break.” Piper smiles and hugs her husband.  Leo takes Wyatt from her. “Why don’t you go lay down for a little while. I’ve got thing under control down here.”

Piper gives a slight smile. “Thank You” she whispered. She turns and heads for the stairs.

“Wise one if you don’t need me. I would love to leave for a little while; as well” informed the nanny elf.

“It’s fine. You can go and thank you for your help.”

“No problem, sir.” She leaves before Leo could change his mind.

Chapter 3

“I can’t believe you cast a spell on him” whispered Mel.

The five girls were working their way around the side of the Manor to the conservatory.  They needed to look in to see if anyone was downstairs and if they could break in there.

“If I didn’t cast a spell on that taxi driver we would still be walking” justified Em. “Besides I didn’t see you coming up with any great ideas.”

They made it to the glass in area of the house.  “Will you two...shut up for five minutes, you’re driving me crazy” snapped Kat.

Kat looks through the window and don’t see anyone in there.  She walks towards the doors and waves for them to follow her.  Kat gently grabs the handle of the door and slowly pushes it down and the door opens with a slight creak. Kat grits her teeth and pushes the door on open. Ki grabs her arm, “Wait...listen.”  They all lean forward to listen.

“That’s Dad and he reading, I know that...” Mel leans more into the conservatory. “...that’s Where the Wild things are,” uttered Mel.

Kat grabs her arm. “Come on, we have to get this done.”

“So how are we going to get home” whispered Em as they crouch and made their way through the conservatory?

“Shh,” whispered Kay. “If we get caught they may think we’re warlock or something and personal I don’t want to be on the opposite side of their power.

Kat inches up to the doorway staying low.  She looks into the room. Kat sees her and her sisters in the playpen and Wyatt is sitting on Leo’s lap. Kat was about to edge further into the living room when she heard the front door slammed shut.  Kat moves quickly back into the conservatory. Kat places her finger over her lips to signal to the others to be quiet.

“I can’t believe this,” said Phoebe loudly walking into the living room.

“Shh, Phoebe the girls are sleeping” Leo said quietly.

“The banquet hall that we rented for the reception, burned down” Phoebe said much quieter. “And when I called Jason in Chicago, You know what he said get another one.  Oh like you can just get another one in four days. We had to book that one four months ago.”  Phoebe looks around the room and sees the blown up couch and the smashed clock, “Demon?”

                “No, the kids” replies Leo.

“The kids did this?” Phoebe walks over and sits down in chair next to the remains of the couch. Phoebe sighs, “Let the object of objection, become but a dream, as I cause the scene to become unseen.”  The light went through the house and put everything back to the way it was before the kids destroyed it.

Leo lends over and put Wyatt on the floor. “So what are you going to do?”

“I could use magic to fix the banquet hall” Phoebe said smiling.

                “Phoebe!”

Phoebe puts her hand up “I know, I know...personal gain.” Phoebe sighs and sits back into the chair. “If you have any ideas, please share.”

                “What about P3” asked Leo?

“No, I promised Piper that she would not have to raise a hand and that’s what I attend to do.” Phoebe lets out a loud breath.

Kat points towards the dining room.  The others nod their heads and goes into the dining room.

“Okay we’re in here now, how do we get up stairs,” asked Kay?

Kat stands up and pulls her sister to her feet and the others also stand. “Come on and I’ll show you.”

She slowly walks into the foyer and peeks around the corner into the living room.  Phoebe is sitting in the chair with her eyes closed and Leo is paying attention to Wyatt.  Kat glances back, “Go up the stairs, quietly” she mouthed.  Kat starts to wave her hand at her sisters and cousins.  They move one by one up the stairs when Kat was sure that the others were at the first landing. She turns and follows them up.

Em quietly closes the attic door as Kat slip through the doorway.  Mel is already at the book thumbing through it.

“The book isn’t as thick” committed Ki.

“Our book is twenty years older” said Kay.

                “Nah really” Ki said sarcastically.

“Find him yet” Kat asked Mel. She was hoping to head off the argument that was about to occur.

“Yeah, here he is” answered Mel.  A warlock who has limited abilities, that is able to clone himself and blink. He has the ability to form fireballs but he goes after weaker witches.”

“Well isn’t that entry a little old about twenty years to old” said Em.

“So do we go after the Riffelo of this time or the Riffelo of our time” asked Mel? “Maybe we should call Chris.”

“Now that’s a great idea. He still has his power” said Ki smiling. “But we better do it quietly or we would have to explain to our mothers about, who we are.”

                “Chris...Chris, Chris...its Mel,”

Orbs start to appear in the attic and when they dissipate, Ian is standing there.  “Who are you and why do you what that traitor.”

“Traitor, what?” the girls say in unison.

Chapter 4

Mel walks up to Ian. “I don’t know where you got your information but it’s wrong.” Mel pokes him in the chest to emphasis each word.

Ian backs up and looks at the young woman who just poked him in the chest. “I don’t know who you are but I’m going to get the Charmed Ones.”

“Go ahead” said Kat stepping forward. “Change the future, if that’s what you want to do.”

Ian looks at the five women and notices that three of them look exactly the same. He gasps when he realizes who they are. “But you; how...I mean...but you can’t....” Ian sighs.

“We are here and now you’re going to bring Chris to us” ordered Kat.

“I can’t he’s been condemned as a traitor” he replies.

“You listen to me. He’s not a traitor. He would never hurt anyone here” said Mel desperately.

Em takes Mel’s hand in hers to calm her down. “Ki, what can we do?”

“It’s simple. Ian is going to bring Chris here” Ki answers.

                “I can’t bring him; I tell you.”

Kat’s eyes narrows “You will bring him down here if you no what’s good for you.” Ki lays her hand on Kat’s arm. “Katlain, we’ll handle this one okay because threatening our whitelighter isn’t exactly a wise thing.” Kat pulls her arm away and goes into the shadows of the attic. Ian watches her go and a shiver goes up his spine. “Is she all right” he asked in a whisper.

“She’s been better. We are after a warlock that came back to kill anyone with Halliwells’ blood.  We really need Chris,” said Kay.

“So I take it that you know him” he inquired.

“That’s an understatement. Yea we know him very well and he’s not a traitor” Mel said annoyed.

Ian looks at all of them. “I’ll see what I can do” Ian said orbing out.

“How long do you think it will take” Mel asked the others?

“Who knows, I hope sooner and not later” said Ki.

A few minutes later, orbs appear in the attic, when they dispel Ian is standing there with Chris.

“Oh My..., Ian this isn’t Chris” said Kay.

                “Sure it is” said Ian.

“No it’s not, he’s a warlock. He’s name is Jerco” said Mel panicking.

Jerco’s eyes were wide in shock. “How are you here?”

Kat came out of the shadows holding a sword left by one of the demons that the Charmed Ones had vanquished. Jerco looks over and sees her coming at him. Jerco steps behind Ian. “Do you really thing he’ll be able to protect you; son of a bitch,” uttered Kat abrasively.

Jerco backs up toward the attic door. “Keep her away from me. I don’t have any power.” Jerco voice shakes with fear.

“Well isn’t that to bad” Kat said with rage.  Kat keeps advancing on him. Kat was right in front of him and takes a swing with the sword. She misses him. “Where’s Chris? If you tell us now I’ll make it quick but the longer you take the more painful it will be, so I hope you refuse to say anything.”

Ki grabs Kat’s arm and Kat shakes it off. “Kat, you can’t do this.”

“Watch me” Kat said with a smile that didn’t reach her eyes.  Kat’s eyes were cold and dead when she looks at this warlock. Jerco is trying to open the attic door and falls through it when Kat takes another swing.

“You can’t kill me like this you’re on the side of good” Jerco said walking backwards. When Jerco came to the steps he falls down them.   Kat just keeps pressing forward on him.  She never changes her pace. He hits the second floor and jumps to his feet. Piper comes out of her room do to the commotion to see the person she believes is Chris, and then she sees Kat and the others that are following her.

“Jerco, tell me where Chris is” Kat said flatly. Jerco takes off down the hall. Kat picks up a vase off a table in the hall way and throws it at him.  The vase hits him right when he reaches the stairs and he tumbles head first down the stairs.

“Ian, what’s going on” demand Piper? “And who are they?” Piper gestures to the girls.

“I’m not really sure yet and he continues to follow Kat down the stairs and Piper joins them. Piper was not sure what was going on.

Phoebe and Leo were in the doorway of the foyer when Jerco hits the bottom of the stairs.

                “Chris” Phoebe said with surprise?

“No he’s not Chris, his name is Jerco and he is a warlock” Kat said coming down the stairs.

“Just stop, right there and I’ll tell you what you what to know” Jerco said out of breath.

Kat pauses on the last step. “Where is Chris?”

                “He’s...um...at...”

“Times up” Kat said interrupting his procrastination.  She charges him and he stumbles back and falls to the floor. Kat standing over the top of him raises the sword over her head.

“Kaitlin, Don’t,” Kay and Ki yelled together!

Chapter 5

Everyone in the room is frozen except for Piper and Phoebe.  Kat is standing over Jerco and the sword that she brought down is stuck in the floor next to his head.  She nicked his ear when she brought the sword down. Piper unfreezes Leo and Ian.

“You start talking” said Piper pointing to Ian.

Ian starts to explain the situation at least the part he knows when the front door opens and Paige walks into the Manor. “Okay, what are my girls...,” Paige abruptly stops and her mouth drops open. “What’s going on” she finally asked when she found her voice again?

“That’s what we are trying to figure out” answered Piper.

“So I did what they asked, I never thought she would go postal all over him” Ian said guardedly.

“Why did they follow the warlock through the portal” asked Paige as she looks at the three identical women. “I guess they can’t lie and say their some one else, can they. Piper, unfreeze them, please.”

“I would unfreeze them and leave her frozen for now until we really know what’s going on” suggested Ian pointing to Ki and Kay.

“I think that’s a good idea” said Piper.  She waves her hand in front of them and they unfreeze.

Ki and Kay looks around the room. Kay made eye contact with Paige and she quickly looks away.  Kay walks forward and looks into the frozen face of her sister. Kay shakes her head. “How can we save her?”

Ki walks up and removes the sword out of Kaitlin’s hand and turns and face Leo. “You may want to take this.” Leo reaches out and takes the sword from Kiley.  “This is what he wanted” Kil said to Kay.

“We don’t know what he has planned” said Kay.

“Oh come off it Kay. You know it and I know it and I even bet Kat knows it, but she’s to hurt to see it.”

Ki then turns to face Piper. “By the looks of your faces you figure out who at least we are” She makes a wide gesture between her and her sisters. “And I bet you have about a million questions. Some we can answers other we will not answer because this simple thing could have harmed the timeline.

                “What’s going on” questioned Piper?

“We’ll answer all your questions we can but first we have to help Chris” informed Kay. “So can you unfreeze them first?” Kay points up the stairs to where Mel and Em still remain frozen. Piper gestures with her hand and then they unfroze.

“We were froze, how” asked Em?

Mel smiles, “Because our past self has our powers and in your case you’ve not been born.”

“Neither have you” Em said with an attitude.

“At least I knew the answer to such an obvious question” said Mel.

Em gasp, “Did you just say I was stupid?”

                “Umm, yeah” retorted Mel.

“Hey, you two we don’t have time for this” said Kay. “So shut up”

“You taken over Kat’s job” counter back Mel?

“Maybe I am what’s you going do about it” snapped Kay?

                “Nothing” they uttered in unison.

Kay sighs, “I’m sorry. I’m just worried. Aunt Piper can you please unfreeze Kat?”

Piper gestures and unfreezes Kaitlin. Kaitlin stumbles forward a little and Ki and Kay grab her. She looks at them and her tears glistens her eyes. Ki and Kay pull her into a hug. “It’s okay.”

                “I’m so sorry” expressed Kat.

                “It’s okay, sweetie,” said Ki

Kat pulls out of their comforting hug and moves away. She wipes the tears with the back of her hand. “I’m fine” Kat pulls her lips in a thin line to stop her lip from trembling.

Ki and Kay shake their heads. “You can unfreeze Jerco and Kat, why don’t you join Mel and Em on the stairs,” informed Kay

                “Are you taken over, Kay?”

“Yes, I am, Kat you’re way out of control and as long as you’re that way I’m going to stay in charge.”

“You know what he did and you are going to make me stand on the sideline” Kat said harshly.

“Yes Kat, Kay and I know what he did and I know how much pain you’re in but...Kat, you are so out of control and you don’t even know it” stated Ki.

“So you’re taking her side” retorted Kat.

“There are no sides here, Kat. We love you and we want to help you” said Ki sadly.

“I didn’t ask for your help and I don’t need it” Kat said walking towards the stairs and then taking two at a time. Everyone watches her go but no one follows her.

Kay closes her eyes. “Go ahead, Aunt Piper unfreeze the warlock.”

Piper waves her arm and Jerco unfreezes. “Damn.” He reaches up and grabs his ear and looks around the room. “Where is she at?”

“She’s not the one you should be worrying about” said Kay. “Get up, you slimly son of...Get up now.”

“What do you what from me” Jerco asked?

“Where’s Chris and I suggest you tell us or I’ll let the Charmed Ones get out of you” said Kay.

                “I don’t–”

“I wouldn’t finish that if I was you” said Mel coming down the stairs. “Believe me I won’t need the Charmed Ones to take care of you I’d do it myself.”

Jerco swallows hard. “I left him in a cage in the underworld. The Seer invented it and that’s what he’s in so he can’t get out” answered Jerco.

Paige looks at everyone and then makes her way up the stairs to go talk to her daughter and as she still tries to get her mind around what is going on.

Chapter 6

Paige walks into the attic and sees Kaitlin looking out the attic’s window. Paige knew she was in a lot of pain.  She didn’t know how she knew she just did; maybe it was motherly instinct or the fact that she went after the warlock with a vengeance.  “Hi,” she said when she took more steps into the attic.

Kat glance over shoulder at her. “What do you want?”

“I thought I would see if you were okay.” Paige decides to risk coming up a long side of her. “Is there anything interesting out there?” Kat looks at her then walks away. Paige has no idea why her daughter needs distance from her.  She has to know that her Aunt Phoebe is the empath of the family. “Did I do something wrong?”

Kat sighs and then turns and looks at her, “No.”

“I’m your mother and you act like you don’t what to be in the same room with me.” She walks over to the couch and sits down.

“My mother is twenty years older. You are the babies mother not mine. So don’t try to get all sentimental because I’m not. I really don’t care what you have to say. I’m here to keep you and the children downstairs alive and I don’t give a damn if I hurt your feelings.” Kat turns and walks past the others as they enter the attic.  She left Paige sitting on the couch flabbergasted by the brief conversation with her grown daughter.

Ki and Kay watch their sister push past them and head down the stairs. They both turn and look at Paige. “You tried to talk to her didn’t you,” asked Kay?

“Yeah, I just wanted to see if I could help.”  She looks at her other daughter with hope in her eyes that they would release some information.

“Look I know you have some motherly need to help but your future self can’t help so I know you can’t help her” revealed Kay.

“Why what happened to her” asked Phoebe?  Piper, Phoebe, Paige, and Leo are now looking at Kay for answers.  Mel and Em looks away and heads for the Book of Shadows. Kay and Ki look at each other and then they walk over to the Book where Mel and Em are standing.

“What happened to make her so cold and mean” inquired Paige? She felt she had a right to know because she is her mother whether she’s claiming it or not.

Ki sighs and looks at Kay. “We can tell a little I mean it could help them understand why she acts they way she does.”  Kay shakes her head. “We have to maintain the timeline.” Ki takes Kay hand in a silent protest. “Maybe they can help maybe they would have perspective that their older selves don’t have.”

“Ha, you have got to be kidding about this” said Kay letting her irritation show.  “Look what good would it do and this is the end of this conversation.”

“Ah, Yeah, you see we’re still here and you’re talking like we’re not and that’s rude. I know that we’ve taught you better then that” informed Piper.

“Kay, we have to tell them and before we leave we could erase that part of their memory.” Kay shakes her head but then she gives a slight nod. She is still unsure if their doing the right thing. “But I’ll tell them.” Kay was not going to tell them everything. There were some things that they were keeping from their parents and aunts in the future and Kat would never forgive if they told them about that.

Kay takes in a deep breath and lets it out slow trying to gather her strength.  “You see Kaitlin is/was a lieutenant with SFPD.”

“She’s a cop” Paige said with shock?

“Yeah, she is” replies Kay. “And she was assigned a man as a partner, Jake Loggins. They started to have a relationship outside of work.  If Captain Morris would have found out, he would have had to separate them as partners, so they keep it quiet even form you. They keep it quiet until Kat found out she was pregnant. Then Kat went and told Darryl, he wasn’t happy but he understood after a few weeks of punishment.”

“I’m a grandmother” Paige said closing her eye in disbelief.

“You were a grandmother, in fact it was the first grandchild of the family and she was fussed over by everyone.” Kay wipes a tear away.

“Why do you keep talking about her in the past tense” questions Phoebe?

“Because she’s dead and so is Jake, Jake died trying to protect his daughter form the demon.  You see guns don’t stop them. Kat felt her daughter was in danger but she didn’t arrive in time and when she did get there she vanquished almost all of them except for Jerco and a few others then they were able somehow to bind her powers and we arrive just in time to see them take her.  We found her three days later. We have no idea what happened to her.” The last of the story was a lie. Ki and Kay knew exactly what happen to her and they knew other things that Kat herself didn’t even know.

Chapter 7

Kat enters the living room and spots Wyatt on the floor playing with blocks and the smaller versions of herself and her sisters are asleep in the playpen.  Kat walks into the living and when she gets close to Wyatt his force field goes up.  Kat squats down in front of him. “O mirth and Innocence! O milk and water! Ye happy mixtures of more happy days.” Kat feels a hand on her shoulder and in a quick movement she manages to knock the person to the floor and had her hand on his throat.

Ian sees the rage that is in her eyes and the recognition of who he is. As quickly as Kat took him to the ground she is letting him go and backing away from him. “I’m sorry, Ian...just don’t every touch me.”  Ian rose to his feet and looked at her with concern.  “Nice moves and I shouldn’t have startled you I’m sorry” said Ian. He was trying to calm the waters. “That quote is from Lord Bryon, I see that your father’s taught you the classics and self defense.”

Kat turns and heads into the conservatory she had to get some distance between her and Ian. She can’t stand to be touch she just wished she could remember everything that happened to her.  She knows it’s there and if she could sit someplace quiet long enough; she just hopes it would come to her. It is just out of her reach and she doesn’t know why.  She remembers working with victims of violent crimes and how their minds would block out the memory to protect them. Kat never believe she would be the one trying to remember and she just wishes she could let go of this rage.  She felt Ian’s eyes on her back.

“Have you ever felt like you was standing on an edge of a cliff and you were ready to step off into the abyss” asked Ian. Kat glances over her shoulder but she doesn’t turn around. She doesn’t what to talk to him and she has to get her anger under control before she has to face her mother or her aunts again. “I only ask because it something your father said about twelve years ago when he had a lot of rage like you.”

Kat turns around to face him. “My father never had any rage and who says I have rage?” Ian laughs and takes a seat at the table. “Your father had a lot of rage when his family was murder by the Source. There was several times I thought I would loose him to that rage and to answer your second question you don’t have to be a empath to see that you are full rage especially when I’ve already seen an O’Hara with rage before.”

Kat stares at him and her eyes are filled with regret. Kat sinks into one of the chairs at the same table that Ian had made himself at home.  Ian steeples his fingers and brings them to his lips then he looks over them at Kat. “You know I’ve always hated you doing that.  It’s like a principal about to give out detention.”

Ian smiles and brings his hand down. “I’m sorry if I’ve made you uncomfortable.”  Kat shakes her head. “I never said it made me uncomfortable. I said I hated it, there’s a different.” Ian chuckles, “You’re right there is a different between the two.  So are you going to tell me why you’re so angry?” Kat stiffens at the causal response to share her pain. She narrows her eyes at him the quickly turns away and looks out the window. “I think some things should be left alone, Ian and I believe this topic is one of them.”  Ian raises and eyebrow to this statement. “So in other words don’t ask and I’ll tell you no lies.” This pulls a laugh and a smile out of Kat.  Something Ian somehow knew, she used to do a lot of. “Something like that” she answered still smiling.

Kat could not believe that she was feeling so relaxed and a little bit like herself again.  She now knows why Kiley loves him.  Kat also knew that if her father and mother every found that they were seeing each other that they would kill Ian. She laughs to herself then the smile disappears as fast as it began.  She was hurting so bad and she wanted to tell somebody, so she decided to take a chance. “If I tell you what happened, you have to promise that you will never tell a single person not even me because it could change the timeline.”  Ian nods his head, “I promise.”

Kat told him everything and as she told some of the more horrifying details of her experiences. Ian clenched his hand into fists. He tried to control his own anger and tears burned the corner of his eyes.  Kat refused to even look at him and when she spoke it was with little or no emotion and barely above a whisper.  Ian had seen one lone tear slide down her cheek.  She didn’t even attempt to wipe it away. It was almost like she had to go into a trance like state to tell her story.  He couldn’t believe that she hasn’t told anyone about this; not any of her aunts or her parents.  Ian had a funny feeling that only people who knew everything were her two sisters and now him.

“Do you promise not to tell anyone every” Kat asked when she was done? The question pulled out of his thoughts.

“Yea, I won’t say a thing not even to you.”

Kat continued to stare out the window. Ian knew her shame and embarrassment keep her from looking at him now. He was a whitelighter and he didn’t even know what to say to her to ease her pain and to help her believe it wasn’t her fault. It was the evil that attack her and her family.

“So you’re telling me that we can’t bring him here using the Lost Witch Spell” asked Mel.

“The magic lets magic in. It doesn’t let magic out” informed Paige.

Mel sighs and starts to pace back and forth as frustration and fear starts take a hold on her. “We have to get him out, now.”

“Why are you so worried? Your emotions are almost overwhelming me” said Phoebe curiously.

Mel looks at Ki, Kay and Em. “He’s my brother.”

Chapter 8

Piper, Phoebe, Paige and Leo looks at Mel. “Your brother,” Piper said shocked?

“Yea, Mom he’s my twin brother and your son” said Mel smiling shyly.  Piper puts a protective hand on her belly. “Then we’re going to get him out, now” Piper motherly protectiveness was kicking into high gear.

“That’s all good, Piper but just how are we going to do it” asked Phoebe?

Kay, Ki, Mel and Em shrug their shoulders. “We use the Lojac spell and to find a lost sister spell or in this case a lost brother spell” answered Kat from the doorway from the attic with Ian standing behind her. “Kay, if you think that’s a good idea.”

Kay smiles at her sister “I think that it just might work. Any suggest who will say the spells and who will follow?”

Kat walks on in to the attic and walks over to Mel. She pulls her in a hug. “I’m sorry. I promise will get him back” she whispered to her. Mel steps back and a lone tear escapes her eye and she quickly wipes it away.

“I think Kayley, Kiley and I should go down with potions and then our Moms can say the Lojac spell to find us. It does take very long after you say it for it to start working. You will feel a pull...um, kinda of like what mom feels to find us but with the spell it will work even if we’re in the underworld.”

Piper and Phoebe look over to their sister for an explanation. “It’s a pull a feeling I get when I’m around family. It has to do with the whitelighter part of me.  Leo more than likely has it with Wyatt.”

“And me and Chris” added Mel. “And by the way I’m going you’re not leaving me here.”

“Mel, it’s better for you to stay here” explained Kat. Kat didn’t want her to be there just in case Chris is pretty bad shape. She wants to spare her cousin that kind of pain.

“Bull, I don’t know what you’re up to but I not staying here” Mel said angrily. She in no way was stay here to wait. It was her brother and she was not stay behind.

“Mel, please, I talk him into coming here. He had his doubts but he came anyway. I need to do this and if something happens to you; I’d never forgive myself because you followed me through that portal.” Kat holds her breath hoping that Mel would cave and stay at the Manor. Mel looks at Ki and Kay and they give a slight nod. Mel sighs, “All right I’ll stay here but you better bring him back.”

“We will,” Ki answered for Kat instead.

“Okay” Kay said grabbing a pen and a piece of paper.  Kay bent over the paper and starts to write something down when she’s down she hands it to her mother. Paige takes it and then looks at it. “What’s this?”  Kay takes in a deep breath then let it out slow. “It’s the Lojac spell you need to say so we’re tethered together.” Kay informs her mother and aunts.  They give a nod of understanding “Okay so we’re ready then” asked Piper. Phoebe and Paige let her know they’re ready.

Piper, Phoebe and Paige recites the spell that Kay had given them. A golden light starts to swirl around the triplets and then turns into a gold rope that shoots across the room into the Charmed Ones.  All three of the takes a quick breath like they were hit in the stomach.

“You all right” the triplets asked in unison. The Charmed Ones smiles at them. “Yeah” the said together. “It’s a little strange it’s like I no exactly where you are” said Phoebe.

“Yeah, Aunt Pheebs because their right here” said Mel smiling.  “Are you always this lovely” asked Phoebe frowning at her niece. Mel starts the laugh, “Who do you think I learned it from?”

                “Cute” said Phoebe wryly.

Kat looks at her sisters “I guess where ready.”

“Wait, do you have the potion?” Paige was a little worried sending her daughters in the lion’s den figuratively speaking that is.

“We have them” answered Ki. All three of them pulls their potions out of their pockets and wave them at her.

“Now those potions are the same potions that we used to vanquish the Source” informed Paige.

“Mom” they said together? “Hey can’t a mother be worried.”  They smile at her and  nod their heads.

They said the spell and disappeared from the attic and then appear in a cave. The quickly raises their potions and look around but they are alone in the cave except for the cage and someone lying unconscious in it.  They run over to the cage and hear orbs behind them and they turn around to meet their mother and aunts.

Paige reaches out and grabs Kiley’s hand. “Are you three all right?”

“Yeah, no one was even in here, except for Chris,” answered Ki.

Piper raises her hand ready to blow the door up. Kat grabs her arms. “Aunt Piper, We don’t know his conditions do you really think you should be blowing up anything around him. I know you what him out but you could cause more harm.” Piper narrows her eyes at her niece. “Okay then what do you suggest we have to get him out.”

Kay starts to look around the cave “We need a string.”

“String for what?” asked Phoebe laughing a little.

Kay sighs, “I forget you are not our aunts and mother of the future.” Ki from across the cave yells in triumph.  She comes back over to the cage carrying a black string about two feet long.  She hand it to Kay and Kay takes it from her. Kay twists the string around her hands and then mumbles something under her breath.  The string starts to glow a blue.  She walks over to the hinges and runs the string behind the cutting them off. Kay grabs the door and pulls it to the floor. “It’s nice to see that the part of us that are druids still work.”

“That’s a druid spell” inquired Paige. Kay nods her head, “Yes.”

Phoebe and Ki jumps into the cage to check to see the condition of Chris. “He’s still alive” said Phoebe happily.

Piper lets out a breath she didn’t know she was holding.  “Pull him out of there and will take him back to the Minor, so Leo can heal him. Phoebe and Ki grab him by his upper arms and starts to pull him out of the cage.

Kat stiffens and turns around. She can feel eye watching her. Kat takes a few steps towards where she thinks the feeling is coming from. “Kat, what are you doing we have to go” yelled Kay?

Riffelo steps out of the shadows and throws an energy ball at Piper. “Noooo” yelled Kat jumping in front of Piper and the energy ball hits Kat and it sends her flying through the air.

Chapter 9

Kiley and Kayley yell their sister’s name as they run over to her. Piper raises her hand quickly and tries to explode Riffelo but he blinks out and it hits the wall of the cave instead. Piper fists her hands and gives a quick shake of them in frustration. Paige runs over to where her daughter lays motionless on the floor and kneels down beside her. “Is she okay?” Paige’s voice broke when she asked the question.

“I can’t find a pulse” Kiley desperately said. “I have to start CPR.” Kiley starts with chest compressions and breathing for her sister.

Piper grabs Paige’s arm and pulls her to a standing potion. “Take Chris and bring Ian back and hurry.” Paige looks at her big sister like she’s lost her mind. “I’m not leaving her.”  Piper sighs and grabs Paige’s shoulder. “If you don’t go you will lose her. Leo or Ian can’t hear our calls down here, so you have to go get one of them and Chris needs their help as well so just go Paige.”  Paige nods.  She takes three quick steps and bends down and touches her nephew and orbs out with him.

A minute or so later; orbs appear in the cave. Paige gasp at the site that awaited her Kiley and now Kayley were doing CPR on Kaitlin.  The site of her daughter trying to save their sister made Paige freeze in place of what awaits her babies. She has to protect them but how? They are constantly in danger all the time and now to see, what could be in store them, it terrifies her. Ian grabs her shoulders and moving her to the side, knocks her out of her thoughts.  A fist tightens around her heart and her thoughts and tears are close to overtake her.

Ian lays his hand on Kiley’s shoulder and looks up into his eyes. Kiley stops her chest compressions and shuffles on her knees out of the way. Kayley leans back and seats back and give a sigh of relief.  Ian kneels and places his hand over and his hands begin to glow.  “Ian, what’s taking so long” inquired Paige. Piper raps her arms around her sister’s shoulder.

Piper can’t wait any longer. “Paige, how’s Chris?” Piper whisper in her ear and Paige glances out of the corner of her eyes. “Leo was healing him and he was coming around.” Paige’s attention went back to her own daughter.  She knew that Piper must have been just as scared as she is now.  Piper tightens her arms and Phoebe takes Paige’s hand.

“Ian.” Phoebe calls to try to get him to answer her sister’s question.  “She almost died.” It was his only reply to the question. He continues to heal her.

Kaitlin’s eyes flies open and in a daze she raises her hand and starts to smack him. “Don’t! Leave me alone! I won’t tell you anything!” She continues yell things and keeps hitting Ian. Kiley pulls him out of the way as Kayley and her grabs her and shakes her. “Kaitlin, it’s us! You’re okay! Snap out of it!!” Kiley yells at her trying to pull her to her senses.

Kaitlin continues kicking and screaming and hitting. Kaitlin continues to fight unseen enemies that weren’t there. Kiley and Kayley were trying to calm her but no matter what they tried to do she keep fighting. It was like she was caught somewhere in her mind.

Paige breaks out of Piper embrace and quickly goes to her daughter. Paige puts her hands on Kiley and Kayley’s shoulder to get their attention to move.  They quickly jump out of the way as Paige grabs Kaitlin and pulls her into her arms and starts to talk softly into her ear as she rocks her. Kaitlin slowly starts to calm down the lost gaze disappears and is replaced with tears as sobs rack her body. Paige continues to soothe her daughter and rock her.

Kaitlin finally get a hold of her emotions and pushes herself out of her mother’s comforting embrace. “I’m fine. I’m just tired” Kaitlin uses as an excuse hoping her mother won’t question her about her erratic behavior.

Paige lets her go and stands up. “We should get out here.” Paige glances back to her sisters. Phoebe was now holding Piper’s hand and the both had looks of concern.  They didn’t commit and nods their heads.  Ian walks over and offers his hand to Piper and Phoebe. They look up at him and take his hand but before he orbs out he makes eye contact with Kat and she give him a sheepish smile and give a smile back to her of understanding then he was gone.

“Let’s get out of here” said Paige putting out her and they all take it and the follow Ian’s lead.

Hours later, Kaitlin was in Wyatt’s room and was staring at him.  Paige stops at the doorway and for a split second she thought she seen hate in her daughter eyes but it was gone.  Kat glances up and turns and moves to the window to stare out of it.

“You kind of lost it back there” committed Paige. She walks over to Kat’s side. Kat didn’t say anything nor did she want to. She knew she lost it when she came to and seen Ian above her.  It throws her into a memory and she got stuck there.  She’s upset enough and her mother was the last person she wants to see her like that.

“You know what PTSS is” asked Paige. Paige is very concern for her. She was her daughter and she was not going to back off. Paige needed the truth. She didn’t give a damn about the stupid timeline. Her daughter was hurting and she couldn’t abandon her.

“Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome.  I know what it is.  I’m a cop” retorted Kat. Kat was hoping her mother would just let it drop. She knew what she had and with her memory loss was a pretty good sign of it too.  The last thing she need was for her mother to give her a diagnosis of her problem.

“What did you she sees when you came to?” Paige questioned her daughter.

“Mom...There’s nothing to talk about.” Please just let it go. She didn’t what to talk about it and she definitely didn’t want to remember it.

“I thought I was Paige and your mother is twenty years in the future.” Paige reminder her of statement earlier and almost throwing it back in her face.

“I don’t want to talk about this with you, all right. Can’t you just respect my wishes and drop it?” Kat stress level and patience was rising and just wants to escape her mother’s interrogation.  She turns and heads to the hall and Paige follows her.

When they get in the hall Paige grabs Kat’s arm. “Let me guess in future I’m in the dark; as well. I only know about the loss of my grandchild and your husband but not about the rest.” Kat sighs. “He was my fiancé.”  Paige frowns. “And I bet you’re avoiding me and your father. What about your aunts and your uncles? You’re avoiding them too?” Paige’s voice was rising in frustration.

Piper runs into the hallway and quickly closes the door to her son’s room. “Are you to trying to wake Wyatt?”

“Sorry...but mom won’t let anything drop” clarified Kat.

“I just want to know the truth” said Paige.

Tears start to run down Kat’s cheeks. She clenches her teeth as anger over takes her. “The truth...the truth, I was torture, Mom. You like the truth now? Oh and one other thing, I can’t remember a bloody thing they did to me. Flashes of things is all I get, so are you happy now” yelled Kat? Paige reaches out for her and Kat backs away. “Don’t. I don’t or want your sympathy. It’s my entire fault that Jake and Caley are dead. I couldn’t protect them. I wasn’t there. I should have known.” The pain of her emotions causes her stomach to tighten and Kat grabs it bends over and falls to her knees.

Paige kneels down beside her and pulls her into her arms. Kat had no more strength to fight her. She didn’t want any one to comfort her but she couldn’t stop her mother’s love either.  She should be punished not comforted.

The yell brings everyone to the upstairs hallway. When they enter the hall they see Paige holding her daughter and Kaitlin’s body shaking from her sobs.  Kay wraps her arms around Ki and tears starts to drip down their cheeks. Leo walks over and pulls Piper into his arms and Phoebe took Piper’s hand. Mel hugs Em and Chris wraps his arms around both of them.  Ian walks over to kneel down beside Paige and Kat but Paige holds up her hand to stop him, so he backs against the wall and crosses his arms over his chest. They just stand there helpless unable to stop her pain.

Chapter 10

Kat is looking at the Book of Shadows and is lost in her thoughts when Ki enters the attic carrying one of the triplets.  “Catching up on your reading” Ki asked with a smile. Kat looks up and gives her a sheepish grin. “Something...Like that.” Ki walks up and runs a hand over the top of the Book. “I can’t believe it so much thinner.”

Kat walks around the stand and goes and closes the attic door and then leans against it. “You’re not here to talk about the book. You have to understand that there’s nothing between Ian and me.” Ki waves her free hand dismissively. “I know that. We never had the same taste in men. You like the good boy in the dangerous bad boy image. Me—”

“You like the sweet, loving, dependable, and loyal. Kind of like Lassie.” Kat gave her sister an innocent smile.

“Are you saying that Ian is a lap dog” Ki said irritated.

“No I’m saying he’s too old for me.  I mean a real patriot. You know with him dying in the Revolutionary War.” Kat walks over and sinks into the couch.

“He died saving children from a fire and he was a great doctor and he’s only twenty-nine.” Ki’s face was flush from her anger with her sister. Kat smiles back enjoying the fact that she got under her skin. “Yeah twenty-nine plus another two hundred and twenty-seven years” Kat said mockingly.  Ki narrows her eyes at Kat and Kat holds up her hand defensively. “So is that Kayley your holding?” Kat was hoping to change the subject before Ki gets to anger at her. Ki shakes her head. “Yeah, it’s Kayley, so have you ever wonder who her type is. I mean she never went to prom or any dances. I mean Tom Reno was her best friend. Do you think Kay and him? You know.”

“Do you think I did what?” Kay had entered the room without Kat and Ki knowledge. Ki and Kat jump with the voice of their sister. They could not erase their guilty looks. “What were you to talking about that concern me? And don’t say you weren’t because it’s written all over your face with the guilty expressions.” There was a little rise in the pitch in her voice hinting to her sisters that she was not happy being talk about behind her back. “This really sucks because we all knew what we were thinking and saying even when we weren’t around one another” said Kay flopping down on the couch next to Kat.

“I kind of like it” said Ki. She’s now flipping through the Book of Shadows.

“I bet you do” retorted Kay. Kay crosses her arms over chest. “So what we’re you two saying about me?”

“We weren’t saying anything bad. We were just wondering what type of guy you like” informed Kat.

“Oh... I see...um...I don’t like the old dead doctor type like Ki and the cop  with hero complex  type like you do Kat. He’s sweet and supportive, understanding and tender.” Kay said each characteristic as she counted them off on her fingers.

“Wait, he. Are you seeing someone” questioned Ki? She stops turning the pages of the Book and focus her entire attention on her sister.  Kay realizes that she revealed something that she wasn’t quite ready to divulge yet. “Did I say he? I didn’t mean it literally. You...know...if I had a guy.”

“Kay, you are a terrible liar or you’re the best. Who is he?” Kat had twisted on the couch to get a better look at her sister. Kay didn’t like all the attention on her. She’s always been the shy one. She was the member of the threesome that stayed in the back ground.  Kat was the athlete; captain of the volleyball, basketball and softball team and Ki was head cheerleader, president of STUCO, and the lead in every musical and play. Kay was happy for them. She had no problem hiding behind them because using their popularity in school and in the family allowed her to hang out with her little group of friends, some of which her family wouldn’t be happy about. Tom Reno, her best friend, was a witch that was keep a secret. The truth was all her friends consisted of witches, druid and one half human/half manicore.  They spent their time hunting down demons or warlocks. And now that they were grown it was pretty much the same. Ki was the an intern in the trauma unit at San Francisco Memorial Hospital and Kat moved up quickly with SFPD than there’s her, the lonely professor of literature.  They all manage to graduate earlier from high school and college.

Kay gets up and starts to pace. “I’m not seeing anyone; all right.” Kay said a little louder than she attended. Kat raised an eyebrow at her. “So why are you yelling? Are you trying to convince us or yourself?” Kay stops in mid-stride and turns to face her. “What if there is someone?”

“Oh my...you are seeing someone but how? Why didn’t we know? And who is he?” uttered Ki in shock.

“Why and how you didn’t know is that when we were in high school, I said a few spells to hide what I was doing.” Kay couldn’t make eye contact.

“Wouldn’t the spells be personal gain” asked Ki? Kat holds her hand up to stop Ki from asking anymore questions. “What exactly was you doing in high school that you didn’t what me and Ki to know?” Kat’s eyes were now filled with fear and concern. “My friends and I were demon hunting and that’s when I met him. We all hanged out together,” explained Kay.

“You took mortals demon hunting. Are you out of your freaking mind” exasperated Ki? Kay frowned. “No I didn’t take mortals demon hunting. My friends were made up of witches, druids and a half human/half manicore.” Ki gasped. “Were you out of you mind? Tom Reno was your best friend and you hung out with him all the time.”

Kay walks up in front of her and smiles. “He was a witch and no, I wasn’t out of my mind and to answer your other questions his name is Cor...Cormac Duffy.” Kay grimace when she let her anger get the best of her and she let his name slip out.  Ki mouth drops open with shock.

“Wait, why does, that name...sound so familiar?” questioned Kat. She crunched up her face trying to remember. “I’ll tell you why because Cormac Duffy is Drake Duffy’s son. You know the man who tried to have us killed when we were babies and who almost killed our father.” Ki made it a point not to hide her disgust and anger at her sister in her voice.

Chapter 11

Kat starts laughing. “You’re got to be kidding.” Ki and Kay looks at her. “Tell me you’re kidding.” Kay frowns at her sister. “You’re not kidding are you?”  Kay shakes her head. Kat sighs. “How long have you been seeing him?” Kat’s voice was hard and unforgiving.  She could not believe her sister would deceive her or Ki. “I’ve been dating him since we were sixteen,” answered Kay awkwardly.

“Since you were sixteen,” exasperated Ki. “Why the hell didn’t we know?”

“You didn’t know because of the spells and I didn’t want you to know. I knew you would act just like this. You don’t even know him. He’s nothing like his father. The sins of the father do not dispose itself on to the son.”

“Oh I see, so how do you know he’s not out for revenge” retorted Kat?

“Because I know; can we let this go?  We have other problems to deal with right now” said Kay. Kat shakes her head. “I don’t think so; I want to know why we should trust him?”

“Because he’s my husband,” yelled Kay. “Because he’s my husband...that’s why.” She could hardly say it again because of the lump that had formed in her throat and the tears burning the corner of her eyes.

“Oh” said Ki and Kat in unison. “How long have you been married to him?” Kat could not believe she didn’t know. She was her sister, her identical sister.  They were connected like no witch or druid before them, not only were they connected telepathically. They were able to share each other powers or amplify one of their powers by three. Now she feels like she doesn’t even know her. Married, she put off marry Jake for the family.

“We’ve been married for a year” Kay said a little above a whisper.

“You’ve been married for a year and you’re telling us now. May I ask why now” said Ki coldly.

“You made me mad” retorted Kay.

Kat stayed quiet she just wanted to chose her next words very carefully. She couldn’t let this big, way big news cause a rift between them. “Is that the only reason or is there another secret you’re keeping from us?”

Kay looks to the floor like she was gathering strength. “I’m might be pregnant.”

“Might be; you don’t know” Ki said annoyed? “This is just great.”

“Kiley” said Kat. “You’re Kiley’n me?” Ki rolls her eyes and shakes her head in irritation and she clenches her jaw together, so she can say anything else. Kat looks at Kay with concern and all her aggravation with the information she just learned was fading away. “Why don’t you know?”

“I’m late. I’ve been too scared to get a HPT to find out” answered Kay sadly. “Cor doesn’t even know.”

“If you are pregnant we would’ve found out anyway when the baby started missing up your powers and ours” said Kat softly.  Kay just nods her head as tears start to trickle down her cheek. Kat pushes herself off the couch and pulls her sister in a supportive hug. “Then I guess we better find out and Kay, whether you’re pregnant or not.  We’ll support you; won’t we Ki?” It wasn’t really a question it was an order and Ki knew it so she just nods her head in agreement.

Ki wasn’t really paying attention to the mini-Kayley and what she was doing. Mini-Kayley was leaning forward and lays her had on a page in the Book.  Ki gasps as she and the mini-Kayley was through in a vision.

The scene was frozen in time as Ki walks around it holding mini-Kayley. “It’s Cole” she muttered to herself. “But who are those guys in the black suits.”

It was like the scene heard her request because the scene started to play. Cole was standing at French doors that were damage. Ki thought it looked like a penthouse. “I won’t turn evil” said Cole. He turns around to face the two men in the black suit. Ki attention was now on the scene playing out for her.

Good and Evil are such useless categories, endlessly embattled neither side ever winning. It gets rather boring don’t you think?” said the black suit with the beard.

Cole takes a few steps towards the two men in the black suits. “Then what are you?”

The black suit with the beard looks intently at Cole. “The Avatars.”

Cole looks at the two men confused, “The Avatars of what? The black suit with the beard gives a slight grin. “Avatars of force and power, and we don’t have to limit ourselves to choosing between good and evil. We can drive them both.”

“What’s that got to do with me?” Cole shifts his weight from one foot to the other.

“We are only a few but we are preparing to wield a power the likes of which the world has never seen,” informed the Avatar with the beard.

“And we want you to be apart of it” added the other Avatar.

“Let me make myself clear,” said Cole forming two energy balls. “I want nothing to do with you.” Cole throws the energy balls at the two Avatars but when the energy balls hit the Avatars they fizzled out.

The Avatars looks down to where the energy balls hit them. “You cant’ fight us, Cole,” informed Avatar with the beard. “It is futile to try. Sooner or later you will join us. It is inevitable.” The two Avatars streams out.

Ki comes out of the vision to hear Kat making plans to get a Home pregnancy test. “Whoa,” Ki said still feeling a little dizzy. Kat and Kay looks at her. Ki was holding on to the book stand to steady her. “Ki, are you okay” asked Kat? “Yeah, but I think we might have a bigger problem and it might be related to Wyatt and why he’s evil.” Kay and Kat looks at each other then at Ki with shock and confusion.

Chapter 12

Piper, Paige, Leo, and Sean were sitting in the Manor’s kitchen. Piper and Paige were sitting on the stools that are at the kitchen island. Leo and Sean were standing on the other side.  “Are you sure, they’re our daughters” asked Sean. He could believe his grown daughters were here in their time.

“Yeah, honey they’re our daughters” reinsured Paige.  She reaches out and takes his hand. “So who’s this demon and how do we stop him?” Sean wanted information on the new threat to his family.  Piper explains about who Riffelo is and why he’s there and how they plan to stop him.

The kitchen door swings open and Chris, Melinda, and Emily walks in talking among themselves about what’s going on with the triplets. “Hi, Uncle Sean,” said Chris. “Mom, I’m starving.”

“When aren’t you starving” said Mel smiling. Chris gives her a shove. Mel shoves him back and raise her chin as a challenge to her brother.

“You what me to fix you something” inquired Piper? She was hoping to stop the fighting and realizing she had this to look forward to. Chris looks his mother up and down like she lost her mind. “No, Mel and I can fix something. Do you what anything?”

Piper shakes her head. “No thank you. You can cook?” Piper couldn’t believe that they could cook. “Yeah, learn from the best.”  Chris walks over and gives his mother a kiss on the cheek.  Chris reaches under the island and pulls out a skillet. Em takes a seat next to her Aunt Paige and Mel went to the refrigerator. Mel opens the fridge door and starts to touch green and red peppers, onion, and a bag of shredded Cheddar Cheese. Mel pulls out a couple cartons of eggs and then kicks the door closed with her foot. She brings them over to counter.

“You forgot the milk and butter,” informed Chris as he look at the item spread out in front of him. “Sorry your highness,” Mel said dryly. Chris just looks at her. Mel rolls her eyes and goes back to the fridge to get the missed items.

                “Where’s Mom,” questioned Em?

“She’s out with your father” replies Piper.

“Uh.” Em looks at her confused.

                “Jason, your father,” clarified Piper.

“Oh, yeah” muttered Em. She shared knowing looks with her cousins.

“So what are you making” Paige asked Chris? “I’m making Mom’s famous omelets.” Chris smiles at his mother. Piper smiles back at her son. Her grown son.

Piper, Paige, Leo and Sean watches Chris and Mel cut up the peppers and the onion with the skills of a master chef then they watches them mix up the omelets

“So Dad, what do you know about Avatars of Power,” Mel asked nonchalantly. “Wha...What? How did you hear about them” question Leo. Mel shrugs her shoulders.  Mel knew she had to be careful because the triplets where counting on her, Chris and Em to get the information without alerting all their parents.  “I’m not sure, why?” Mel looks at her father innocently. Chris stops whipping the eggs and the other ingredients to pay full attention to his father.

“They’re...um...,” Leo looks over to Sean.

“—they are magical individual that quite powerful and they continue to seek more. They have to much power if you ask me” Sean said helping Leo out.

“So are they good or evil,” inquired Em? Sean gestures to Leo to add to the conversation. “They are both. They do what every gets them more power and they will ally themselves with whoever will get them that power.”

“So I take it that they are pretty powerful then” acknowledged Chris.  Leo and Sean nod their heads. “Yes.”

“If they’re so powerful then why don’t the Elders do something about them” questioned Mel?

“Because it’s not that easy, sweetie” answered Leo. Mel smiles and giggles. “What’s so funny” Leo asked her. “Nothing, that’s just what you always call me and it’s funny that you call me that before I’m really born.” Piper smirks at her husband and he smiles back at Piper and Mel.

“Why are you asking about them?” Paige questioned pulling the subject back to what they were discussing. “So have you met them in the future?”

“No, we just heard about them. That’s all” answered Mel. She went back helping Chris with the preparation of the food. Piper, Paige, Leo, and Sean could tell that conversation was done.

“So where are my daughters” asked Sean. He could not wait any longer. He wants to talk to them. Everything that he had learn from the scroll, he knew that they were having a hard time with what was going on in the future and he wants to know what it is.

“You know...um...they kind of step out for some fresh air,” informed Em.

“You mean the left the Manor,” exasperated Paige! Em looks at her with surprise from the tone of her question. “Yes. They went to look at something.”

“They said they wouldn’t be gone long,” added Mel. Piper, Paige, Leo and Sean looked at them like they had lost their minds. “They could be attack and you just let them go” bellowed Piper.

The three of them shrugs their shoulders. “You’ll learn once the trips have their minds made up; there is no way to change it.” Chris informed his parents and his uncle and aunt.  He could not let it slip that they also borrowed some money from his mother and went to the store. They were also worried and they couldn’t let them know. The trips were being secretive and they learned it was best to let them do what they had to do.

Kat and Ki were leaning against the wall outside the upstairs bathroom at Manor. “So how much longer” inquired Ki? Kat looks down at her watch on her wrist. “About another thirty seconds.”  Ki sighs. “I can’t believe she was able to keep this from us and she falls in love with the last person she should have ever falling in love with.”

Kat, who was staring at the other wall, glances over to her sister. “We can’t choose who we fall in love with, Ki. You know that or you wouldn’t have lost your heart to Ian.”

“You can’t even be comparing my relationship with Ian, a whitelighter to Kay relationship with a member of a family that tried to kill us.” Ki raised her eyebrow at her sister. She was just daring her to compare.

“We are can’t —,” Kat was stop from answering when the door of the bathroom opens and Kay steps out. Kat and Ki straighten up and look at their sister.  Kay has a look of fear and uncertainty.  Ki shakes her head in disbelief. “It just keeps getting better and better.” Ki sulks off.

“She hates me,” Kay said sadly. Kat pulls her into a hug. “No, honey she just doesn’t understand.”  Kay lets out a breath she did realizes she was holding. “What about you?”

“What about me, what,” inquired Kat?

“Do you hate me?” Kay pulls back out of the hug.  Kat narrows her brow. “No, why would you ask that?”

“I don’t know, cough it up to hormones.” Ki smiles at her sister.

Phoebe walks up behind them without them noticing. “Whoa, who died?” The two girls jump with the sound of their Aunt’s voice. “I wouldn’t know any better I would say you two are feeling guilty about something, as well.” Kay and Kat share a look.

Chapter 13

Kay and Kat looks at their Aunt. “What do you mean, who died” asked Kat. “It’s simple. I just past Ki and caught a feeling like her best friend just died and then I came up here.” Phoebe wiggles her finger at the two women. “One of you two are feeling guilty.” Phoebe freezes her finger on Kay. “It’s you. You’re the one feeling guilty, spill it!”

Kay widens her eyes and looks at her sister. “Spill what, Aunt Phoebe?” Kat looks at her sister. “Kay, why don’t you go and check on that theory we came up with in the Book.” Ki looks at her sister with a confused look until she looks into her eyes understand that she wants her to leave before their aunt can question her any further. “Oh Yeah that theory, I’ll get right on that.” Kay makes a quick exit before Phoebe can read her feeling anymore.

“You think I don’t know what you just did” scolded Phoebe. Kat gives her an innocent look. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.” Phoebe frowns at her niece. “Fine, keep your secret but believe me I’ll find out.” Kat smiles at her aunt. “Aunt Pheebs, I’d tell you but you know you can’t keep any secrets.” Kat gives her aunt a little smirk. Phoebe smacks Kat on the shoulder. “You’re not going to tell me, are you?”  Kat turns serious. “I wish I could but some things have to stay between sisters.”

“Uh-huh, and Ki’s gloom and doom attitude, I should just ignore that as well” queried Phoebe? Kat closes her eyes and takes a deep breath and lets it out as fast as she sucked it in. “I’ll talk to her. Let’s just say she’s feeling a little betrayed and I need to help her understand that sometimes things happen whether we like it or not.”

“Well, you’ve come a long way since your break down.” Phoebe raised an eyebrow of contempt. Kat frowned. “I’m fine. I’m sorry if you are feeling a little left out but you know there are certain things you can’t know about in the future and this is one of them.” Kat snapped at her aunt and then walks off to find Ki. Phoebe watches her niece storm off. She looks towards the stairs to the attic and takes them.

Kay is looking through the Book of Shadows. She was looking for anything that my give more to the whole Avatars of Power being the cause to Wyatt walk down the dark side.  Kay was having a hard time concentrating on it. Kay’s thought keeps falling back to the look on Ki’s face. Did she really betray her family? No I didn’t, I love my husband.  Kay sighs and tries to focus on the task at hand. Ki looked so hurt but she wasn’t going to have any regrets just because she was mad. She always caved when they would fight. She was always the first to apologies even when it was more her fault. “Ask Kay she won’t mind. She’ll do it. Well guess what I’m doing what I want to do. I did what I wanted to do; so there” muttered Kay. “Oh that’s great now I’m talking to myself.” Kay sighs and leans forward and buries her face in the book. “I hate this” Kay said muffled by the book.

Riffelo is standing in the shadows of the attic. He is watching his next victim, Kay. Riffelo laughs to himself. He knew she was oblivious to his presents there. He forms an energy ball in his hand and a grin of achievement crosses his lips.

Kay raises her head and starts to sing an Irish lullaby that her father sung to her when Phoebe steps into the doorway to the attic.

Phoebe caught a glimpse of a person stepping out of the shadows. “Kay behind you” yelled Phoebe. Kay turns around and flings the Book of Shadow towards Riffelo.  The book hits Riffelo just when he throws the energy ball at Kay when the book hits him it repels him and sends him to the floor.  Riffelo was able to get his energy ball off and heading for Kay. The energy ball hits Kay in the shoulder and spins her around and sends her to the floor.

Riffelo looks at Phoebe. “Oh the fun is just beginning.” Riffelo smiles and blinks out.

Phoebe runs over to her niece and turns her over to her back. Kay was clenching her jaw to try to lessen the pain. “Le...o” Phoebe yelled and then soften it when she saw everyone running into the room. The noise of the skirmish must have brought everyone running.

Leo runs over and kneels down beside Kay and Phoebe moves out of the way. Leo heals her and she looks up to the worry on her sisters’ faces.  Leo stands and helps his niece to her feet.

Ki comes up in front of Kay and pulls her into a sisterly hug. “Are you okay?”

“Yeah, I fine, so do you still hate me” asked Kay? Kay’s voice had a joking tone but she was really serious. Ki pulls back and looks at her sister. “I never hated you, mad at you, still mad at you but I never hated you. You’re my sister.” This ended any doubt in Kay’s mind that she did anything completely wrong and Ki apologized to her instead of the other way around.   Ki pulls her back into a hug and Kat joins them into their hug. Mel runs over and also joins the group hug. “I think I’m going to cry” Mel joked wrapping her arms around her cousins.

Chapter 14

Dong, Dong, The grandfather clock chimed two. Everyone had made themselves comfortable in the living room, as comfortable as you can get for two o’clock in the morning with a warlock from the future trying to wipe out your family.  Ki, Kay, and Em are occupying the couch. Piper is sitting in one of the large chairs and Leo was sitting on the arm.  Phoebe is sitting on another chair. Sean and Paige are sitting on the arms. Mel was sitting on the coffee table and Chris was sitting on the arm of the couch but Kat was pacing all round the room.

“Kat, will you sit down. You’re making me nervous” said Ki. She had been watching her sister make laps around the room for the last half-hour; in fact, she hasn’t calm down since the attack on Kay.

“There’s no where to sit.” She stated without even a pause in her step.  “I think we could make room here on the couch for you” said Kay. “No I can’t sit down, nothing is making any sense. Why would he come after you and then what happen in the cave?  I mean, I was the one who was injured.”

“Kaitlin you were only injured because you jump in front of me” clarified Piper. Kat waves a dismissive hand. “You don’t understand. This warlock knows us and he would know that I would protect my family even at the cost of my own life.  He can’t take us out in our time so he manages to bring us back in time, knowing that our powers wouldn’t work.  What makes me so mad is that I let him trick me in doing this, so if my sisters or my cousins get hurt or worse, died. It will be my fault. I don’t want to risk your lives either, so we’ll deal with this problem ourselves and let you get back to your lives.”

Piper, Phoebe and Paige gives her, you’ve-got-to-be-kidding look. “You think we’re going to let you leave while you’re in danger then you don’t know us at all,” said Piper seriously. “You’re our children and you’re in danger with or without your power. You are not doing this alone. And for your information, I can plan my wedding around this vanquish,” added Phoebe.

“We...I can’t let you do this. You have enough on your plates; the twins and the wedding. You should have never found out we were even here. The threats to us not you and now we’ve put all of us at risk” explained Kat.

“I don’t know why you’re even fighting us on this because this conversation is done. We are helping you whether you like it or not” notified Piper harshly.

Piper tone of voice was clear and Kat knew by that tone she should not push the subject but she could no longer in danger them. She’s lost so much and what if their presents here cause one of them to die. She couldn’t, she wouldn’t let them get hurt because of her. “You don’t have a say in this Aunt Piper. You might be scary in the future with your increase of power but your not now. So guess what we’re not going to listen, come on guys.” Ki, Kay, Mel, Chris and Em go to get up.

“Sit down” ordered Piper! Ki, Kay, Mel, Chris and Em froze in the process of getting up. You could tell by the look on their faces. They were stuck on who they should follow. “You are not going anywhere.”

“You have no say over us” bellowed Kat. “You have no idea what’s going on.”

“So why don’t you enlighten us” commanded Piper. She stands up to go toe to toe with her niece. She also knew that she was going to win.

“You know I can’t tell you what’s going on in the future just us being here could have changed everything that awaits us when we get back.” Kat knew she could be as stubborn as the Charmed Ones. Where do they thing she learned it.

“Kat, your aunt is right you need to listen to her” said Leo.

Kat knew Leo was doing what he always did and try to calm the situation down and had reason into the emotion that this family always seems to get caught up in. “You know Uncle Leo, we really don’t need your two cents in this so I’d appreciate if you would shut up.”

“Kaitlin Patricia O’Hara, you will not talk to your Uncle with that tone of voice. You will show him the respect he is entitled to not just as an Elder but as your Uncle” snapped Sean. “I know your mother and I raised you better.”

Kat sighs. “You know the line you just used now will be used a whole lot as we grow up,” Kat said walking out of the room not looking back.

“Is She always so dramatic” asked Paige?

Ki and Kay smiles at their mother, “Oh we all have moments of Oscar winning performances, and just think what you’ve got to look forward to” said Ki. Ki gives her mother a mischievous grin

Kat enters the attic and looks around. She spots a cloth bag on a shelf and she walks over and picks it up. She goes over to the table that is line with potions. She starts to grab potions and starts to drop them into the bag.  She sees a pad and pencil and picks up the pen. Kat starts to write something on the pad. “I’m sorry to disobey you all but I can’t risk your lives or the lives of my sisters and cousins,” muttered Kat.  “I ask for the spirits of time and space to help me with this request. Take me to confront the enemy of my family; Riffelo is who it is to be.”  Orbs appear around Kat and she’s gone.

Chapter 15

Kat looks around. She was in a dilapidated building. She lets out a slow breath to calm her nerves. She had never been this scared in her entire life. Kat knew she must have left her mind in the future because otherwise she would never show up here alone with no powers that had to be the only reason for her lunacy.  Hunting demons was always an adrenaline rush for her but now she was sure the tightness in her stomach and the lump in her throat had to be pure fear.

Kat sticks her had in the bag full of potions and wraps her fingers around one of the vials. She was sucking in hot stale air.  It was like she couldn’t catch her breath. She took a deep breath and held it for a few seconds and let it out slow to calm herself before she had a stupid panic attack.

She slowly took a few steps forward.  Kaitlin, you’ve lost your mind completely. She told herself. You flubbed the spell and he’s not even here.

“I was wondering when you would show your face here.” Kat turns around recognizing the voice of Riffelo.  She pulls the potion out the same time she turns around and throws it at Riffelo.

Riffelo throws up his hand and destroys the vial when it was three feet away. “If I wanted you dead I could have did that as soon as you arrived.” Kat slides her hand back into the bag and takes hold of another vial of potion. “Why didn’t you?”

“Because I did not wish it.” Kat spins around to see a figure stepping out of the shadows. “Wyatt!” She said barely above a whisper. “Yes, Kaitlin, It is I.”

Kat’s heart rate increase and she starts to pant as her fear increases. Kat backs up so she is no longer standing between the two men. She realizes she just made the biggest mistake of her life. Kat tightens her grip on the vial. “What do you want with me?” Images of her torture flashes into her mind and she realizes the Wyatt was there. Kat’s throat tightens almost strangling her as she fights back the tears of betrayal.

“I just want to talk to my cousin, like we use to.” Wyatt steps towards her and Kat takes a step back. “Just stay there I can hear you just fine.” Wyatt chuckled. “Honestly, Kat you’re not scared of me are you.”  Kat straightens her back and raises her chin. “No I’m not scared of you; you evil son of a —,”

Tsk, Tsk” Wyatt clicks his tongue. “How many times have I told you; that there is not good and evil just power?

Kat let out a small laugh. “Is that what the Avatars of Power told you?” Kat watches surprise enter Wyatt’s eyes and he quickly masks it. The corner of Kat’s mouth twitched with satisfaction. What she thought was just a theory was just answered in the eyes of her cousin. “I’ve must have mistaken.” Kat waited for Wyatt to make response but when he didn’t Kat decided to break the silence. “So, what do you want to talk about, Wyatt?” Kat’s confidence grew with each passing second.

“I want you to join me, so we can be a big happy family,” said Wyatt.

Kat knew if you would look up astonished in the dictionary. You would find her picture right next to it. “You’re not only evil but you’re delusional,” Kat said after she found her voice. “If you think I’m going to join you after what you’ve done to me...you’re crazier than I thought.”

Wyatt walks over to Riffelo and claps him on his shoulder. “We could be a big happy family again.”

Kat laughs but there is no humor in it. “You had my fiancé and my four month old daughter killed. You had me torture for three days and you expect us to be a big happy family.”

“Your fiancé and your daughter. That was unfortunate, miscommunication between me and those below me.” Wyatt was frowning at her that made her sick to her stomach.

“Unfortunate, Wyatt that’s an understatement, so all the innocent people that you let your minions kill; were just unfortunate as well,” snapped Kat.

“Many people lost there lives during the transition” responded Wyatt. Kat rubs her eyes. She was trying to makes sense in this crazing conversation. “Wyatt you’re a warlord, have you look at what you’ve done to the city. What you’ve did to your own mother? You destroyed her heart. She blames herself for all that you’ve done.” Kat seen the first real sign of emotion in Wyatt’s eyes when she mentioned he’s mother. “What you’ve done in the future that was not your destiny.”

“Who says, you, our parents?” Wyatt clenches hands into fist in front of him and shakes them. “I have power like of which the world has never seen. What I can do with that power, I can drive both good and evil. Kat, just think what I could do with this power.”

“Wyatt, I’ve seen what you can do with that power, death and destruction,” retorted Kat. “Simply having the power, Wyatt should be enough. You shouldn’t have to show it.  Wyatt, power inflicted on others is to control them; power inflicted on yourself is to know your destiny.” Kat narrows her eyes at her cousin.

“You’re just like them and can’t see the vision I have” Wyatt said harshly.  Kat knew Wyatt was growing impatient with this conversation. “Wyatt you can’t expect our parents or myself to understand how you could turn your back on everything you were taught.”

“They will never understand the feel of this kind of power,” elaborated Wyatt.

“Wyatt, your mother understands that power. She was given the power of the Greek gods. She almost destroyed the world but she chose not to. You didn’t choose the right path; you let absolute power corrupt you absolutely.  Gram was right. Men can’t handle the power,” Kat said smugly.

“If you won’t listen to me then I’ll talk your sisters,” Wyatt said with a grin.

“You won’t go near my sisters; not now not ever” said Kat angrily.

Wyatt forms an energy ball and gets ready to throw it at Kat. “I’m so sorry.”

Kat slips the shoulder straps off her shoulder, “So, am I, Wyatt.” Kat flings the whole bag of potions at her cousin and begins to run for cover.  The explosion knocks her off her feet. She turns over to her back to see the ceiling starts to give away above her. Kat throws up her arms to cover her head as the ceiling starts to come down around her.

Chapter 16

The morning light lit the conservatory in a peaceful glow. Phoebe was sitting at the table looking at a to-do list for her wedding only two days away. Phoebe’s coffee cup sits just in front of her and she reaches out and lifts to her lips to take a sip. She returns it back to the table.  Phoebe sighs. She just now was realizing how much she still has to do to get ready for the wedding.

Piper suggested that they all get some rest after Kat’s declaration that they no longer needs there help and then left the room. Everyone crashed through out the house but everyone gave Kat her space at the suggestion from her sisters.

“Can I join you” asked Em from the doorway to the conservatory. Phoebe looks up and smiles “Of course you can.”

Em takes the few steps into the room and seated herself at the table. “What are you doing?”

“I’m going over what I have left to do with my marriage to your father” replies Phoebe. Phoebe felt guilt form her daughter. “Em, why are you guilty?”

“I’m not” Em denied.  Em looks down at her hands that were clasp on top of the table. “I think I’ll get me some coffee.” Em rises to leave but Phoebe places her hand on her forearm.

“What aren’t you telling me,” demanded Phoebe shyly? Em looks down at her mother. “I can’t tell you. You have to continue on your path. I can’t say or do anything or everything could change.”

Phoebe looks at her daughter knowing that what she knew was important and she knew it had to do with Jason and her marriage. She just didn’t know what it could be. “Please Em if he does something to harm me—” Phoebe pauses when she gets a different feeling form her daughter. “Jason isn’t your father is he?”

“Do you want a refill on her coffee, Mom” asked Em. She was trying to avoid the subject.

“Who’s your father if it not Jason and Why isn’t it Jason” questioned Phoebe sadly?

Em sighs. “You know too much all ready. You marry Jason in two days and you need to do that. Whether I’m his daughter or not, it doesn’t matter because you love him and you always told me that was the most important power we have.  You told me we should always follow our hearts and Mom you need to do that.”

“When did you become so wise?” Em looks at her mother. She walks over and gives her kiss on her cheek. “I got my wisdom from a very wise witch.” Em straightens up grabs her mother coffee cup and marches out of the room. “I’ll get you that refill.”

A tear runs down her cheek. She could not image not having children with Jason. She would wonder what went wrong she had to know and when her daughter comes back to the table she will ask her.

Phoebe goes back to her to-do list and sucks in a breath when she realizes she’s supposed to have brunch with her soon to be in-laws. She looks down at her watch. “Damn!”

Em walks back into the room with two coffee cups. “Mom, what’s wrong?” Phoebe looks up at her daughter. “I have brunch with my soon to be in-laws in about two hours. I have to get going.” She gets up from the table gather her papers into a pile and picks them up. She graciously takes her coffee from her daughter and starts to leave but she stop and turns slightly towards her daughter. “I will find out why Jason is not your father, Em.”

Em walks back into the kitchen and slumps down in a chair at the table.

“What’s wrong with you,” asked Chris?  He was flipping pancakes without a spatula. Em smiles at Chris breakfast skill. “Mom just found out that her husband to be is not my father.”

“Em!” Chris sits the griddle down firmly and it made a big bang that made Em jump. “Why did you tell her? Our parents know too much already about what may happen in the future without risking your very existence.”

“You don’t honestly believe I risk my existence do you?” Em pulls her bottom lips between her teeth.

Chris chose not to answer her. “Why don’t you go wake up the trips and Mel and let them know breakfast is made.” Em frowns and gets up and leaves the room. “Em!” Em stops and faces him. “Here’s a little brotherly advice, from your big cousin.  Stay away from your mother or she’s going to figure out something she shouldn’t know about. The knowledge of the future should be unknown so you have the right to choose your on path without the worry of making a mistake. Their future is our past we shouldn’t affect it. Please Em, just stay away from her.” Em gives him a hesitant smile and leaves the kitchen to locate her cousins.

Kat lays unconscious on the floor. Her arms were stretched out above her head. There was a large gash on her hairline and it was bleeding profusely. The rubble was all over and around Kat.

Wyatt walks up to his unconscious cousin and begins to crouch down when Riffelo blinks in behind him. “Is she dead?”

“No, not yet” answered Wyatt gruffly.

                “That’s too bad” replies Riffelo.

Wyatt stands up swiftly and grabs Riffelo by the lapels of his leather jacket. Wyatt’s glare made Riffelo cower. “This is my cousin and she will die when I’m ready not when you ordain it. Got it.” Riffelo moves his head up and down to let Wyatt know he understood. “Get out of here before I forget that I still need you for my plan.”

Wyatt gives him a shove and Riffelo stumbles back and stares back at his master.  Riffelo’s muscle in his jaw twitches with anger but he knew not to push his luck with Wyatt because he knew that Wyatt would kill him without a second thought. He gives Wyatt a head bow and blinks out.

Wyatt turns back to his cousin and squats down beside her. “I won’t let you die. You had to be stupid and put your life in danger. I will make you all understand what I’m trying to do. There is no good or evil. Power is how we keep peace.” Wyatt heard the familiar sound of orbs behind him. “You’re in good hands, ‘til we meet again.” Wyatt brushes a strand of hair off Kat’s forehead and orbs out.

Chapter 17

Kat was in the conservatory facing her very angry family. Okay it was more her sisters and her mother and father then the rest of the family but they were having their say as well. Kat sighs as her mother started in on her now.

“Do you realize how lucky you are? You could have been killed. It was stupid for you to risk your life. You don’t have any powers here and potions can only do so much but I must be wasting my breath because you are not even listen to me are you?” Paige ranted on.

“Uh” said Kat. She started to block everyone out shortly after her father started his lecture. Her thoughts were on Wyatt and why he was here and how was she going to tell her sisters and cousins without her parents and aunts finding out because Kat knew her mother was going to stay very close to her. She knew she was walking into danger but she had to risk it and if she didn’t she wouldn’t have found out that Wyatt was here with his powers and the Avatars of Powers was behind his change to the dark side.

                “Kaitlin,” yelled Paige.

Kat looks up into her mother’s worrisome eyes.  “I know I was stupid but I thought I was doing the right thing.  I was trying to protect my family and since when is that a crime.”

“Since you reminded your mother of her self” Piper said with a smile.

“What do you mean?” Kat asked her aunt with a curiosity.

“It’s nothing that needs to go into at this time” interrupted Paige. Paige glares at her big sisters.

Kat stood staring out the window of the conservatory into the back yard about a half and hour after the multiple lectures.  Kat was watching her mother and father play with the babies of her and her sisters. Kat sighs and realizes that she was flank by her sisters. “It’s hard to believe we were every that happy” Kat said.

                “Hey we are happy—,”

“You may be but Mom and Dad hasn’t been happy with me for a long time.” Kat interrupted Ki and turn around to see Chris, Mel and Em standing there. “Is this another intervention?”

“No.” Mel said offended. “We just want to know if you’re all right.”

“Yea I guess, I mean all except trying to figure out why Wyatt’s is here,” Kat dumped on them.

Em gasps at the information and Chris and the others mouth drop open. “What did he want” asked Mel.

“He wants us to be a Big Happy Family.” She said with a sarcastic tone.

                Big Happy Family?” repeated Chris.

Ian knew he shouldn’t be eavesdropping but he couldn’t help it. He was about to walk into the conservatory when he over heard their conversation. He paused and heard more then he every dream he should all about evil Wyatt and how he’s the threat to them in the future and how he was the one in the dilapidated building that she throw the bag of potions at him. He knew he should maybe go in there but what would he say. Should he demand them all for answers? He was about to walk in there when the doorbell rang.

Ian walks towards the foyer when Piper opens it. Ian’s eyes open with shock and turn his back to the door. He walks back out of sight not wanting one of the people at the door to see him.

Piper opens the door. “Darryl, what are you doing here?” She looks past him and made contact with the man behind him. Darryl followed Piper’s eyes and grimaced. “Piper Halliwell, this is Caleb Fisher, my new partner.

Caleb sticks his hand out enthusiastically. “It’s nice to meet you, Ms. Halliwell.”

Piper furrows her brow and takes the man’s hand and gives Darryl a questioning look. “What can I help you with” Piper asked Darryl?

“Oh...um...we were told we would find a Kaitlin O’Hara here. We need to question her for murder.” Darryl glares at his partner’s bluntness. “I’ve tried to tell him that Kaitlin O’Hara is a five month old baby but he doesn’t believe me so I thought I would bring him over and prove it to him.”

Piper bites her bottom lip. “Um, Darryl can I speak to you a lone for a minute?”

“Sure.” Darryl followed Piper into the other kitchen with a glance back to his partner.

“What is it?” Darryl asked when they got into the kitchen.

“Well, Kaitlin is a baby but she’s also fully grown.”

“Fully grown, uh, do you want to run that by me again?” Darryl holds up his hand. “Wait, I’m not going to like this am I?”

Piper shakes her head back and forth. “Paige’s daughter along with my twins and Phoebe’s daughter followed a warlock from the future.”

“So someone seen Kaitlin kill the victim” asked Piper? “You have a witness and he/she knew it was Kaitlin? Darryl doesn’t that sound a little strange since Kaitlin at this time is a baby? So the person must know her from the future. Oh no! There in the house and we left you new partner to wander around the house.” Piper left the kitchen with Darryl on her heals.

“Hi ladies and gentleman, are any of you Kaitlin O’Hara,” inquired Inspector Caleb Fisher?

Kat, Kay, Ki, Mel, Em and Mel share a look and then look at the inspector. “No, because she’s out there.” Kat points to her parents and the babies.

“That woman is Kaitlin O’Hara” asked Caleb?

“No, not the woman, that’s Paige Matthew-O’Hara. I mean one of the babies in the stroller” answered Ki. Ki gave him her best smile.

“May I ask who you are, then?”

“Sure, I’m Kathryn Halliwell” Kat lied. “This is my sisters, Ki Halliwell and Kay Halliwell and those are my cousins Chris, Mel and Em.”

Inspector Caleb Fisher narrows his eyes at the six of them. Kat made sure she didn’t lose eye contact with him. Kat gives him a slight smile and tips her head innocently to the side.

Caleb’s eyes fell on Em. “Do I know you?”

Chapter 18

Em raises her hand and points at herself. “Are you talking to me?”

                Caleb nods his head “Yes.”

“No I don’t think so,” answered Em. Em bends down and starts to straighten some magazines on a table.  Caleb continues to stare at her.

“Fisher, where are?” yelled Darryl coming into the conservatory.

“I’m in here” answered Caleb, as Piper and Darryl enter the conservatory.

“Hey man do you want to meet Kaitlin” Darryl asked Caleb?

“No that’s okay. I think we’ve got all we need from here.” Caleb never took his off Em. He walks over to her. “Um, are you sure, I don’t know you? You look familiar. I just can’t place you.”

“Have you ever been to Virginia? I went to college at Georgetown” explained Em. Em never made anymore eye contact and she just keep busying her self with the task of straighten up a non-existing messes.  Em felt like her heart pounding hard in her chest. Just leave, please just leave and I don’t know if I can keep my mouth shut.

“No I can’t say that I have.” Em could still feel his eye on her.

“Then I guess, we’ve never met,” said Em made eye contact briefly before looking away.

“Inspector Fisher, if that’s all. My sister and my cousin and I really have something to do so if you would excuse us” said Chris interrupting the conversation.

“Yea, I’m sorry I’m finished.” Caleb sticks out his hand. “It was nice to have met you, Em” Em takes his hand and finally makes eye contact. “It was nice meeting you as well, Inspector.” Caleb narrows his eyes at her and then shakes his head and walks away.

She never could let the truth to be known not now not ever. Darryl can’t know who he really is, so it’s best for everyone, including her and her family.  The information has to remain unknown until it is time to be revealed.

Caleb walks past Darryl without a word and heads for the door to let himself out. Darryl raises an eyebrow at Piper and follows his partner out. “I see you guys later” said Darryl closing the door behind him.

Em wipes her hands on her jeans. “I think I’ll go check the Book to see if we can figure out a way to find Riffelo of our time.” Em starts to leave the room and Piper calls out to her. “We’ve already tried that.”

“Yea I know but I might find something. I have a few ideas.” Em walks on out of the room.

Kat looks at Mel and closes her eyes and nods. Mel nods back in understanding. “I think I’m going to see if she needs some help.” Mel leaves the room.

“Okay what’s going on?” Piper looked questionably at all of them.

“Why do you think anything is going on” Chris asked Piper?

“Oh I don’t the atmosphere change in the room. You all know him don’t you.   Who is he,” inquired Piper?

Chris took Piper’s hand in his. Chris leans in and kisses Piper on her cheek. “Mom, if we could tell you anything about the future we would.” Then he gives her hand a squeeze for reassurance.

Phoebe and Paige enter the room and the kids make a quick exist before they have to answer anymore questions. “This isn’t over, not by a long shot” Piper yelled after them.

                “What’s that about,” asked Phoebe?

“That’s very good question and I feel we’re not going to get any answer any time soon.” Piper sighs.

Piper let her sister on what was going on or at least what she knew.  “So you’re telling me that this Caleb Fisher, Darryl’s new partner acted like he knew her,” queried Phoebe? “That’s a little strange isn’t?” Phoebe wasn’t sure how to take it.  Phoebe wasn’t for sure if they should not keep an eye on this new partner of Darryl’s. What if he was a threat and something happens to Darryl.

“I really think we need to find this warlock and vanquish him before there is more trouble then we can handle” Paige said bring Phoebe out of her thoughts.  Piper lets out exasperated sigh. “That Missy Paige is an understatement. But my big question is why would this warlock what Kaitlin in jail and just kill her.”

“I think the only answers to those questions lies in the hands of our grown children and the warlock they’re after.” Phoebe voiced with great concern.

“I can’t believe Wyatt would use—,” Em paused and shakes her head. “—doesn’t make any sense.”  Kay wraps her arm around Em shoulders for support.

“The problem is, it does make sense to him and all we are doing is playing catch up,” clarified Kay.

Chris walks over and sits down on the couch. “Then what do we do now?”

Mel stood and watched her brother and cousin talk about how they were going to stop Wyatt. Every time he does something to hurt others she blamed herself for the pain and suffering he has caused.  She doesn’t know if she could every forgive him for the pain he caused Kat or anyone else. Now Chris was on that list of people that Wyatt was unjust to.  He will pay for his crimes, if it’s the last thing I do.

“Mel what do you think?” Ki inquired pulling her out of her thoughts.  “Huh, what did you say?”

“I asked you if you think that Wyatt is trying to separate us for some reason.”

“I think that is a very good question.” Piper intruded on their kid’s conversation. “And why would Wyatt is trying to separate you?”

They all looked at their eyes like they got their hands caught in the cookie jar.

Chapter 19

The six of the Charmed One’s kids look at each other. Kat steps forward. “Um...You see...um Wyatt is—,”

“Kat I tell them because it’s Chris and my place to tell her,” Mel said cutting her cousin off.  Kat gave her a clip nod and turn away to allow Mel to have center floor. Mel steps forward so she was standing before her mother and her aunts. She knew she was about to break her mother’s heart.

Mel closes her eyes and let out a breath. She slowly opens her eyes to see her mother staring intently at her. “Wyatt...my brother is...um...I don’t know how to say this except just say it. Wyatt is the real threat. He’s the evil that we’re fighting in the future.”

Piper’s eyes widen in shock and disbelief. “You’re telling me that Wyatt, that innocent little boy asleep in his crib is evil?”

“Yea,” added Chris. “I’m sorry Mom but it’s true and if it wasn’t for—,” Chris looks back at Kat. “— Kat I would be his right hand man and I’m sure Mel would have join him as well. I mean after what happen to—,” Chris faded off.

“After what, Chris,” asked Piper?  Chris shakes his head and walks away. Piper glances over to Mel and a look of understanding comes over Piper’s face. “After I died right, Wyatt became evil because I died.”

“No, it has nothing to do with whether you died or not,” interrupted Kat. “Wyatt chose to use his power for personal gain. He chose to become evil. If he loved you or if he respected you he wouldn’t have, so don’t you go blaming yourself for what he’s done or will do in the future. He made the decision to turn evil. He destroyed peoples lives, not you or anything that you did.”

Mel sighs. “Mom he’s not the same little boy you know. He started to change way before that day.  We just didn’t see it until you...you know?”

“I died” said Piper. Mel frowns and nods.

Piper couldn’t belief what she was hearing. Wyatt was the evil that the other children were up against. He’s so innocent and sweet.  She knew he was powerful but what would cause him to change, was the power to much for him?  Should she and Leo be looking for signs that will change him? “Do you know why he became evil?”

“We have a few theories but none we what to share right now” explained Kat.

Piper looks at her niece and for the first time understands her anger. “You must hate him. You must feel like he betrayed you.”  Kat lowers her eyes. “It’s not important how I feel. What’s important is why I sent Chris back and that was to figure out why he change and how we could stop it, but now we have a new threat and that is Riffelo and why Wyatt is here also.”

                “Wyatt is here” asked Phoebe?

“Yeah he’s the one I faced in the building.” Kat walks over to stare out the window.

Piper caught the conversation between her sister and niece.  “I want to see him.”

                “What” said Kat? “Absolutely, not.”

“He is my son.” Piper knew one thing he was her son and she was going to talk to him. If she could find out what happen maybe she could stop it from happening.

“He’s not that little boy anymore. He’s cold and heartless. He kills anyone who defies him” Ki said sadly.  Kay walks up and takes Piper’s hand in hers. “He was like a brother to us and he killed Caley and tortured Kat. He has no soul.”

“Piper maybe they’re right” Phoebe uttered to Piper. Piper turns on her sister. “He’s my son. I have to do something.” Piper knew her tone was harsh but she didn’t care. If she could do something.

“This could be exactly what he wants” mumbled Kat.  She was still staring out of the window.

“What did you say, sweetie” inquired Paige. Kat turns around to face them. “This could be exactly what he wants.  He may want to talks to you or kill you.”  Piper’s eyes widen in shock. “He’s my son.”

Kat walks forward with confidence and stands before her aunt. “Let’s get something straight. That beautiful little boy asleep in his bed is your son. That cold-hearted SOB that killed my daughter is not Wyatt, at least not the Wyatt you know.”

“If he so cold-hearted why aren’t you died?” Piper raised the question. Piper narrowed her eyes in anger. Kat chucked slightly. “That my sweet aunt is the million dollar question. He has a plan and my death was not part of it, at least not yet.”

“I not care what you say. He’s my son and some part of him still is a part of me and he won’t hurt me. So I want you to figure out a way to sit it up a meeting with him.” Piper turns and leaves the attic.  Phoebe and Paige look at the children. Mel, Chris, Em and Ki are shaking their heads. Kay is looking at the ground. Kat shrugs her shoulder. “Her wish is my command.”

“Even if you think it the biggest mistake she can make” questioned Phoebe. Kat shrugs her shoulder. “You know better than any of us that when Aunt Piper has made up her mind. It’s set in stone and there is no changing it. It’s better to do as she asked and try to minimize the consequences of her decision.”  Phoebe nods her head in agreement. “Let us know what you figure out and will go over all possible at comes. Come on Paige lets go see if we can go and talk some sense into that sister of ours.

Phoebe and Paige  turned to leave the room when Em yelled to her mother. “Mom we’re sorry about this affecting your wedding.” Phoebe turns and walks over and pulls her daughter into her embrace. “Honey, don’t you worry about my wedding, everything we turn out fine.” Em closes her eyes enjoying the warmth of her mother embrace.  Phoebe lets go of her daughter, gives her a motherly smile and leaves the room with Paige.

“This is great. Mom is pregnant with me and Mel.  And she’s willing to walk right into danger,” exasperated Chris. Kay pulls him into a hug.

Chapter 20

Piper stood in the doorway to her son’s room and watches him sleep. She could not conceive how that precious little boy could be the source of all evil in the future. Chris had informed her that she was died in the future could her death be the cause of his change. It couldn’t be true, it just could be.

Wyatt sighs in sleep and Piper smiles.  She would not let it happen if she could help it. This could be the reason that they came back in time not to just stop Riffelo but make sure Wyatt doesn’t turn evil. She walks further into the room and looks down at her sleeping son.  She brushes a strand of hair off his forehead.  “I promise you that you will not turn evil.” She whispered to her son.

Piper felt two arms wrapped around her neck and a chin comes to rest on her shoulder.  Piper glances to her left to she Phoebe. “He will not be come the person they described” uttered Piper under her breath.

Phoebe tightens her embrace. “Not if we can help it.”

Piper knew it was easier said than done with changing the future. Destiny has a way to hold on what will be.  Piper also knew she had to be careful or she could unravel the tapestry of time.  One mistake could change everything her grown children know to be their lives, even though their lives sound far from normal. Piper’s wish for her children is that they would have more normalcies then what her life consisted of.  Obliviously, her dream would not happen but she was going to do everything she could to at least try to make it happen.

“So any suggest on how we do that” Piper asked Phoebe?

“First thing we need to get rid of Riffelo. Second, we—,”

“Second, I talk to my son and see if I can find out what changes him,” Piper cutting in on Phoebe’s list of what to do.

“Piper, do you really thing that’s wise” asked Paige?  Phoebe let go of Piper as she turns to face Paige.  “I don’t see why not.  If I could touch some part of his soul maybe he could change back.”

Paige gives Phoebe a she’s-out-of-her-mind look. Phoebe raises her eyebrow and silent agreement to her sister silent proclamation.

                “Hey, I saw that.”

                “Seen what” inquired Paige?

“You two think I’m out of my mind because I want to speak with my son. He’s my son. I just can’t walk away and not try to help. Tell me you understand.”

“Honey, we do understand but we’re also worried about you. Piper, you’re seven months pregnant with our niece and nephew and we feel you shouldn’t put yourself in danger if it isn’t necessary.” Phoebe puts her arm around her sister.

                “I have to try.”

“I know” Phoebe said with a sigh.

Wyatt stirred and Piper looks down at her eldest son and pulls his blanket up. “Let’s take this conversation downstairs.” Piper’s sister nods their heads in agreement and they follow Piper out the door.

The doorbell rings and Paige went to the door, when she swung it open a woman with dyed blonde hair appearing to be in her mid fifties was starting back at her. She was in a dark gray pant suit with pearls around her neck.  She had class written all over her. She was the perfect example of Mrs. Cleaver from Leave it to the Beaver. “Can I help you?”

“Oh yes, my dear, I’m looking for Phoebe Halliwell. I’m Mrs. Dean.”

Realization came over Paige when she comprehended what the woman was saying. “You’re Jason’s mother, Please come in...Um...I’m Paige Phoebe’s youngest sister.” Paige leads her to the living. “Please, Mrs. Dean, make yourself comfortable I’ll get Phoebe for you.” Paige excused herself and headed to the kitchen to get Phoebe.

“What is she doing here” question Phoebe?

“Well Pheebs I didn’t ask her but she’s waiting in the living room for you.”

“Tell her I’m gone” exasperated Phoebe.

“I don’t understand. She looks like June Cleaver

“She may look like June Cleaver but she dishes out pain like Morticia from The Addams Family.  Since she got here she has criticized everything I’ve plan for the wedding and Jason has cave to her.  I just can’t deal with her right now. So make her go away.” Paige gave her a mischievous smile. “Paige without magic,” order Phoebe.

“Someone do something we don’t have time for this. We have a warlock from the future. Six kids from the future, make that seven and we really need to take care of that” clarified Piper.

Phoebe blows out a breath in frustration and leaves the room.  Phoebe enters the living room and sees Mrs. Dean holding a picture frame.  Phoebe recognizes the photo she’s holding. “That’s my sister, Prue.” Mrs. Dean jumps and almost drops the frame. She sets it down quickly.

“Oh, will she be at the wedding,” Mrs. Dean asked wary.

“Not unless I do a séance” snide Phoebe.

“Excuse me” said Mrs. Dean dryly.

“My sister died about three years ago.”

                “I’m sorry.”

“Mrs. Dean is there a reason you came here?”

                “Yes”

Yes is all Phoebe heard because Riffelo blink in behind her, holding an energy ball in his hand.

Chapter 21

Phoebe’s eyes widen in shock when she seen Riffelo ready to throw his energy ball.  Phoebe sticks her hand out to yell for Mrs. Dean to get down just as Sean flashes into the room and launches and emerald fireball at Riffelo sending him flying across the room. Mrs. Dean shocked to see Sean’s unusually arrive and her eyes rolls back into her head and faints. Sean uses his magically speed to catch her before she hits the floor.

The noise of a battle coming from the living room causes the other occupies in the house to come flying into the living room. “What the hells going on” exasperated Piper?

Riffelo rises up to his feet and Sean faces him with an emerald fireball resting in his hand. “You can’t win here, so I suggest you cut your losses and leave.”

“King Sean, I was wonder if you would be here.”

                “Well surprise I am.”

“This isn’t over. The game is just beginning.”

“I’m sure it is and I’m ready to play.”

                “You’re not invited.”

“To bad, I’m a walk on and believe me when I tell you  it hard to cut me from the game.”

Piper lays her hand on her brother-in-law shoulder. “I want a meeting with my son” demand Piper.

Riffelo smirks at her. “He said you would. He told me to tell you that you have nothing to say to him that he’s already had heard everything you’ve said and he’s no longer interested in your views.”

“What’s wrong, Riffelo, your lord a coward to talk to his own mother” said Kat coming closer to the commotion.

“He’s not scared of anything.” A flash of anger crosses Riffelo’s eyes.

“Then he should have no problem in see me then” retorted Piper. She walks even closer to Riffelo with her hands up ready to fire.

“I’ll talk to him.” Riffelo blinks and is gone.

“Sean, how did you know I was in danger” asked Phoebe?

“I didn’t know he was going to attack you. Liam had an informant that informed him that a warlock was going to threaten the Manor and he alerted me at the council meeting.” Sean turns his attention to Paige. “Where are the girls?”

“Yo, Dad, we’re right here” said Ki grinning.

                “I mean the little yous.”

                “Oh—,”

“They’re asleep up in Wyatt’s room” Paige interrupting Ki.

They heard a stirring on the floor and turns to see Mrs. Dean’s eyes flutter open. “Oh no, Jason’s mother seen Sean flash into the room” Phoebe said warily.

“I’ll take care of it” said Sean kneeling down beside Phoebe’s future mother-in-law.  Sean helps her to sit up. Sean looks deep into her eyes. “I came in the front door quickly and scared you. The stress of the wedding must be getting to you and you fainted.”

Mrs. Dean brings her hand up to her forehead. “The stress of the wedding is getting to me. Sir you should not enter a room so quickly. It is not very gentlemanly of you.”

Sean stands and offers Mrs. Dean his hand. “You are right ma’am I should be more conscious of others. I apologize if I startled you.”  Mrs. Dean takes his hand and rises to her feet. “Phoebe, I think I’ll go back to my hotel and we’ll talk about the wedding tomorrow.”

“That would be just fine Mrs. Dean. I’ll walk you to the door. Are you sure you’re okay to drive?” Phoebe loops her arm through Mrs. Dean and leads her to the door.  Mrs. Dean pats Phoebe on her hand loop through her. “Oh yes dear and thank you for your concern.”

Phoebe walks back into the living room where everyone else are waiting, “Thank you Sean” said Phoebe. “Maybe you should flash in on her more often it seems to improve her mood.”

Sean smiled. “No problem, anytime you’ll need me. I have to get back to the council but if you would like for me to send some guards to help you. It wouldn’t be a problem” explained Sean.  Paige walks up to her husband and wraps her arms around his neck and lightly kisses him.

“Ew, Come on Mom we really don’t need to see your public forms of affection,” Ki said smiling. “We really don’t need that etch into our brains. We have more than enough of that to look forward to as we grow up” added Kay.

Sean smiles and looks over Paige’s shoulder at his daughters. “I’m so sorry for causes you so much pain. I’ll try to remember that but I’m sure you see it,” mocked Sean and kisses his wife again.

“Yea we do but we still don’t want to see it.” Kat smiled.

“I think we can handle this, sweetie but thanks for asking. When do you thing you’ll be back?” Paige decides to get back to the subject at hand.

“I’ll be back in the morning.” Sean leans down and kisses Paige again and his children reveal the disguise and Sean smiles. “If you change your minds about the guards just let me know.” Sean kisses Paige yet again and flashes out.

“Do you two like to torture us” queried Ki jokingly. Paige waved dismissively at her daughter. “Okay what do we do now” questioned Paige?

“We wait” Kat and Piper said in unison.

Phoebe smiles at her oldest sister. “I guess smart brains to think alike.” Piper narrows her eyes at her little sister.

Chapter 22

“So when are they supposed to be back,” asked Em for the hundredth time.

“Around eleven o’clock now stop asking and watch the movie” uttered Mel.

Ki, Kay, Mel, Chris, Em and Ian are sitting in the living room of the Manor.  They are watching How to lose a Guy in 10 Days. They are left at the Manor to take care of Wyatt and the triplets, while their parents are at the rehearsal dinner for Phoebe’s wedding.

“I don’t know why we couldn’t watch Jason vs. Freddy,” asked Chris?

“Because we have enough horror in our lives,” answered Kat walking into the living room carrying a big bowl of popcorn.

“Oh, and some chick movie is horror enough,” retorted Chris.

“No,” all the girls counter back.

Ian smiled. “Okay, you guys, you’re going to wake up Wyatt and the mini-yous.”

“Darn, I forgot my pop. Ian can you please get it for me,” asked Ki with a seductive smile.

“Sure,” said Ian oblivious to the flirting by Ki.  Ian gets up and left the room.

Kay was sitting on the floor leaning up against the couch. She smacks Ki in the foot. “You need to stop that, just because you are dating in the future doesn’t mean you can date him now.”

“I can try.” Ki wiggled her eyebrows.

“No you can’t. If you keep it up he may not be your boyfriend in the future” informed Mel.

                “You’re dating—,”

“Ahhum” Kat clears her throat to cut off Em when Ian walks back into the room.

Ian hands Ki her pop and Ki takes it from him and sits down on the coffee table.  “Thanks you, Ian.” Ki said it in a sweet gently voice.  Kay and Kat rolls their eyes at her.

“No problem is that all you need.” Ki nods her head, yes.

Em leans over and whispers to Mel. “Why didn’t I know about Ki and Ian?”

“Because you can’t keep any secrets” answered Mel.

“I can so” retorted Em, a little louder then she wanted to.

Ian gives her a curious look. “You can so, what?”

“Nothing,” uttered Em. She wraps her arms around her knee and started watching the movie.

Ian leans over to Ki and in low voice asked her what was going on. Ki looks at him sheepishly. She was debating on whether to tell him or not.  Ki chose for the truth. “She can’t keep secrets. Aunt Piper said she’s just like her mother.”

“What secret is she not supposed to know about” asked Ian? He gave Ki a little grin. The same grin Ki is very familiar with, the grin that usually gets her in trouble. “Nothing that big, Mel’s dating a whitelighter,” Ki lied.  Ian rises in eyebrow in skepticism but he doesn’t ask any more questions about the subject.  Ki was glad that Ian drops the subject because she is unable to lie to him for very long.

They sit in silence except for the occasional laugh at that much needed part of the movie or when Chris made fun of the characters and how they would never get back together in real life.  Kay made a point to remind him that it was a romantic comedy and the characters always gets back together.

“Ah, that’s strange, the Ancients are calling me” said Ian.

“The Ancients, why would they be call you,” asked Kat?

“I don’t know but it seems to be important.”  He looks at all of them. “You are to stay in the Manor and are not to leave. Got it!”

Everyone looks at him and nods their head. “You know Ian we’re potty broke and everything. I don’t think we need a babysitter” Kat said sarcastically.

Ki glares at her sister for her remark.  “Just go Ian we’ll stay here.”

“Teacher’s pet,” Kay joked with her sister. Ki smacks her lightly in the back of the head.

“Hey, you know if I could use my powers on you. I’d do it often,” responded Kay rubbing the back of her head.

Ki laughed, “Then it’s a good thing you can use them on us than.”

Ian smiled at all of them and orbs out.

Mel pause the movie. “I’ve been thinking about our problem.”

“And what problem is that, Sis” asked Chris?

“The problem with us not having any powers,” answered Mel.

“Speak for your self,” Chris said with a smile.

Mel ignored her twin and spoke to Kat, Ki and Kay. “Why can’t you borrow your powers from the mini-yous?”

“Because that would leave the vulnerable and we can’t do that” answered Kat.

“You could give the powers back to them when we vanquish Riffelo.” Mel trying to get her point across.

“What if that’s what they what” questioned Kat? “It’s to dangerous not just for them but for us.”

“You know it seem weird talking about the little ones when they are us,” said Ki.

They heard orbs behind us and turn around thinking that it’s either Ian or Leo but it was far from it.

Chapter 23

          “Wyatt,” uttered Chris.

Wyatt smiled. “Yes, little bro, it is I.”

“What the hell do you what” demanded Mel?

“Hey is that anyway to talk to your big brother.”

“You stop being that a long time ago” said Mel standing up to face him.  The others rose to their feet to join her.

“You’re not invited to be here” Kat said forceful.

“I beg to differ, Kaitlin.  I have a formal invitation from my mother.”  He walks over to the large chair and Em backs up to give him access to the chair. Wyatt flops down into to the chair making him self at home. “So what movie are you watching?”

Everyone looks at him in disbelieve.  Wyatt grins and puts hand out in front of him. “Popcorn” he calls. The popcorn bowl orbs off the coffee table and into his hand.  Wyatt takes a handful of popcorn tips his head back and pops it into his mouth.

“Wyatt, what are you doing here,” questioned Mel?  Mel narrows her eyes at him.

“Obviously, I’m watching a movie.” The movie starts to play with out Wyatt touching the remote.  Mel hits the pause button and the movie stops.

Kat shakes her head and moves away to the doorway. “You are unbelievable.  You think you can just orb in here and think that we were going to welcome you. Oh and by the way Aunt Piper is at the rehearsal dinner but I’d bet you that you already knew that. Where’s Riffelo?”

Wyatt chuckled, “Nothing can get by you, Kat.  I knew Mom is at the dinner. My business is with you not with them.  Oh and Riffelo, he’s around.”

“What kind of business” asked Chris? Chris sits back down. He didn’t want Wyatt to think that he was nervous around him, even though he is.

“Family business” answered Wyatt. He leans forward and places the bowl of popcorn down on the floor at his feet. He puts his elbows on his knees and clasps his hands between his knees.

“Unbelievable” Kat utters again. “I can’t believe you think that we would have anything to do with you.”

“We are all that we have left.  We need each other more now then every,” explained Wyatt.

“We’re supposed to just forgive you for every thing that you’ve done?” Ki questioned him.

                “Why not,” said Wyatt.

“Why not, Wyatt, you’ve done some very evil things,” clarified Kay.

“And you should forgive me because we’re family,” explained Wyatt.

Mel closes her eyes trying to calm herself before she spoke again. “Wyatt, Kay was being kind.  The evil things you’ve done are overwhelming. One of which is that you killed innocents or ordered their deaths.”

“Are we talking about Caley? That was an accident.” Wyatt stood up and walks over to Kat. “I’m sorry.”  Wyatt said it with no remorse.  He takes her hand and she pulls away. “I don’t know what kind of game you’re play and I really don’t care. If you get anything out of this, I want you to understand that hell will freeze over before I ever forgive you.  You had my fiancé and daughter murdered.  If I had the power to kill you believe me when I tell I would do it without a second thought.  The only time I’ll be happy is when I can send you straight to hell.”

“Well, that wasn’t very nice” replies Wyatt. Kat throws her hands up in frustration.

“Do you even understand what Kat just said to you” inquired Mel?

“Yes, But you must understand that certain decisions had to be made and if people unfortunately got in the way...well they died,” Wyatt tried to justify.

“Wyatt people are died” bellowed Ki.

“I don’t understand the big deal, when Phoebe became the queen of the underworld; her sister took her back with no questions asked.”

“Wyatt, my mother was being controlled by the evil she was carrying. She also never killed anyone” retorted Em.

“She killed lots of people,” Wyatt countered back.

“She killed demons, Wyatt” Em said angrily.

“Oh and they have no right to live” queried Wyatt.

Em glares at her cousin. “You must have lost your soul somewhere because there is a big difference between an innocent and a demon.  One life lost is not unfortunate. It is outrageous and unforgivable. We are supposed to protect them not kill them and somewhere or somehow you’ve forgot that.”

Wyatt chuckled. “Boy did I ruffle your feathers.  I think I’ll help in your decision to become a big happy family.”

Just as he finished speaking, Riffelo blinks into the room behind Em.  He grabs her and puts an athame at the base of her throat.

“Wyatt what are you doing” demanded Mel?

“Well Mel, I believe I’m getting your attention.” answered Wyatt. “This is what you’re going to do. You’re going to consider my proposal and when you see it my way contact me. One other thing tick tock.” Wyatt smiles, nods to Riffelo and orbs out. Riffelo pulls the

athame back and thrust it into her back and then blinks out with her.

Chapter 24

Phoebe was sitting on a couch in the elegantly decorated bathroom. There was a knock on the bathroom door. “Pheebs are you in there” asked Piper?

                “Go away” ordered Phoebe.

Paige looks up and down the hallway. She takes a hold of Piper’s hand and orbs out. A few seconds later Piper and she appear in the bathroom in front of Phoebe.

“I just want to be left alone” stated Phoebe, as she daps at her eyes with a tissue.

“Yea, but we can’t do that.  I can’t believe you’re letting that woman walk all over you” replies Piper.

Phoebe couldn’t believe she is either. “She’s Jason’s mother. I can’t turn her into a toad.”

“A toad would be too good for that b—,”

                “Paige” interrupted Phoebe.

“I’m just saying how’s she been treating you...you should at least be able to tell her off, instead of hiding in the bathroom.”

                “Paige, I’m not hiding.”

                “Really?”

“Phoebe then what do you call this?” Piper made a wide gesture to emphasize her point. “If it isn’t hiding.”

“It’s called trying to get myself recomposed,” elaborated Phoebe.

“Uh huh, not so much” said Paige smiling.

Phoebe sighs. “What am I going to do?”

“You’re going to tell your soon-to-be mother-in-law off or she will never meet Emily” answered Piper.

“Meeting Emily isn’t going to be a problem when Em informed me that Jason isn’t her father” informed Phoebe.

“What,” said Piper and Paige in unison?

“When did she tell you this” asked Piper?

“Yesterday morning” said Phoebe getting up and going to the mirror to check her makeup.

“And you’re telling us now” said Piper irritated.

“I’m sorry but with everything going on it just slipped my mind.”

“The fact that your daughter is not your soon-to-be husband’s just slipped your mind.” Piper came up behind her to make eye contact in the mirror.

Phoebe closes her eyes and turns around to face her sisters.  “I didn’t tell you because I had a hard time believing it was true.  I don’t understand why she isn’t Jason’s.”

“Oh, honey,” Piper pulls Phoebe into a sisterly hug.  Paige joins in the hug. “We won’t worry about it right now.”

Phoebe pulls back from the hug. “Maybe I shouldn’t marry, Jason.”

“Phoebe, you love him” Piper said with concern.

“I know and even Em said I should marry him but with his mother and all. I just don’t know.”  Phoebe walks over and sits back down on the couch.

There is another knock on the door. “Phoebe, I know you’re in there let me in” Jason yelled through the door.

Piper and Paige looks at their sister for a clue what she wants them to do.  “Jason, just give her a few minutes” charged Piper.

“No” Jason pounds harder on the door. “Let me in now.”

Phoebe nods to Piper and Paige. Phoebe stands up and Paige walks over to the door.  She unlocks the door and opens it and Jason fell into the room. “Welcome to the women’s bathroom, Jason.”

Jason looks around the room. “This is a lot nicer then the men’s bathroom.”

“Jason what was so urgent that you wanted to come into the woman’s bathroom” inquired Phoebe?

“Can I speak to Phoebe alone,” Jason asked Piper and Paige? Piper and Paige looks at their sister.  Phoebe nods at them. “It’s okay.” Piper and Paige give Phoebe a quick hug and leave her to talk to Jason.  Jason watches them leave before he turns to face Phoebe again.

Jason closes the distance between them quickly and pulls her into his arms.  Phoebe could feel Jason love for her.  She just doesn’t know if it is enough.

                “Phoebe, I—,”

“You told your mother off” said Phoebe cutting him off.

“Phoebe I love you but let me talk without reading my thoughts or feeling or what ever you can do.”

Phoebe went to say something and Jason puts his finger over her lips. “You listen okay.”  Phoebe nods her head and Jason replaces his finger with his lips then breaks the gently kiss. “I love you.  I should have told her off a long time ago.  This is our wedding and we are going to do our way not hers and we are starting right now.”

                “What about your mother?”

“What about her? I told her the same thing I just told you but I told her if she doesn’t like it, she could leave.  I wanted her to stay but if I have to choose I choose you.” Jason leans down and kisses Phoebe with all the love in his heart.

Orbs appear in the bathroom next to Phoebe and Jason.

“Ahhum” Phoebe and Jason break their kiss. “Ian, what are you doing here? Are the kids all right?”

“Not exactly, you and your sisters need to get home right away,” commanded Ian.

“All right, I’ll get my purse and my sisters and meet you at the Manor.”

“Phoebe, hurry believe me when I tell you its life and death.” Ian frowns and orbs out.

“When isn’t it” uttered Phoebe before turning to Jason. “I’m sorry I have to go.”

Jason takes her left hand into his and turns her engagement ring with his thumb. “Don’t worry about it. I have a funny feeling that it’s going to happen a lot.” Jason tugs on her hand and pulls her into his embrace kisses her gently on her lips. “I don’t have a problem with it as long as you come home to me.”

Chapter 25

Kat walks into the attic of the Manor.  She caught sight of Mel in the back of the attic.  Mel had disappeared, shortly after Ian orbed back to the Manor and they immediately sent Ian to get their parents. Kat walks up behind her cousin.  “So this is where you went off to.”

Mel didn’t respond and Kat knew she was feeling guilty.  Kat steps to the side of Mel to find out what her cousin was staring at.  There it was the sword in the stone, Excalibur.

“You know I thought that sword was for the force of good” mumbled Mel, more to herself then to anyone else. But that didn’t stop Kat from answering her cousin anyway. “It’s neither good nor evil. It falls to the direction of the wielder. It’s just a tool.”

Mel turns to face Kat.  “You know Chris and I always tried to pull it out of the stone but never could.  I remember when Dad caught us trying once. He informed us that it was not for us but for Wyatt.  I was so jealous.” Mel laughed but it had no humor.  “I wonder if he would have thought differently if he knew how Wyatt would turn out.”

Kat took few steps closer to the sword in the stone.   “You know this wasn’t Arthur’s first sword.” Kat said changing the subject.  “He had another before Excalibur.  It was called Caliburn.  He pulled it out of an anvil when he was a teenager. The story goes that during a battle it broke into but that wasn’t true.  A sword forged in Avalon doesn’t break.  Arthur had lost it in battle but if his followers knew he had lost his sword in battle they have turn his back on him and the dream of Camelot would have been lost before it ever had a chance to come into being.  The leaders of Avalon, Merlin and Council of Druids gave Arthur Excalibur.” Kat paused and looks at the confused look on her cousins face and gave a slight smile before continuing with her story.  “So one day while Arthur was walking along a lake he met the Lady of the Lake and she pointed at the sword in the stone.  She told him if he could pull the sword out of the stone that he would remain the King and he would remain the King until he lost it.  You know the rest of the story.”

“Yeah, so that the story huh” answered Mel quietly. “Why didn’t you and your sisters ever try to pull the sword?  I know Chris and I goaded you guys enough.” Kat knew she really didn’t need the history lesson.

Kat said nothing but answered Mel by walking over to the sword and wrapping her hand around the handle of the Excalibur.  A golden glow surrounded the sword and Kat’s hand and she pulled it form the stone.  Mel’s eyes widen in shock.  “How...can ...you do that?” Mel finally was able to utter out.

“It’s simple my grandmother was from Avalon and my ancestors forge both swords” Kat said it as though it was logical.

“You could always pull the sword out and that’s why you and your sister never tried” questioned Mel?

“We were informed by my Da never to reveal this to anyone in the family.  It would cause more questions the answers, so we promised our father we would never touch the sword.”  Kat hoped her explanation would be enough because what she had to say next would be ten times harder then the secret she just shared.

“Wow” said Mel as she looked at the sword in her cousin’s hand. “Wait; do you know where Arthur’s first sword is?”

Kat nodded.  “It had been used throughout history.  The sword was once wielded by Joan of Arc.”

“Kat I don’t need a history lesson,” Mel said irritated.

Kat could see something of recognition flicked in Mel’s eyes.  Kat nodded just before Mel started to speak.  “There’s a reason you’re tell all this; isn’t there?”

“The two swords have the power to stop Wyatt but there is something I need from you and Chris.” Kat wore a warily expression.

“What do you mean stop him? You don’t mean—,” Mel faded off unable to finish her question.

“I’m sorry I don’t see any other way.  After what he did today, He’s forcing my hand, our hand.” Kat knew this was going to be the hardest thing she had to do. One: was for her to convince Mel to agree to the plan and second: for her to follow through with her plan.

“You have lost your mind as well” bellowed Mel, as she took a few steps away from Kat.

“Mel you can’t run from this, it’s time to do what is necessary.  I don’t like it anymore then you do.”

“He not your brother and I can’t...I won’t” retorted Mel.

“I understand your hesitation but you know it’s the only way. I’m sorry. If I could see any other way you know I wouldn’t be suggesting this.” Kat closed the distance between her and Mel. She didn’t what to but distance between them but she knew it was already there.

“Do you know what you’re asking me to do” Mel asked Kat, as tears started to streak down her face. “He’s my brother.”

“I know who he is and this isn’t any easier for me.  He was more like a big brother than a cousin.  But sometimes you have to do thing you don’t like to do.  Sometimes you have to do what’s right no matter what your heart is telling you.”  Kat felt the fist that was clenching round her heart tightens.  Kat’s tears began to fall too.

“But you’re asking me to help you murder my brother” Mel whispered so softly that Kat could hardly her it.

“I’m asking to do what’s right even if your heart doesn’t agree” Kat answered softly back.

Chapter 26

Piper was standing in the doorway of the attic, as she watches her own children and her nieces plan the death of the grown version of the little boy in her arms.  She can’t believe that Wyatt grows up to do the horrific things that the others claim he’s done.

She had argued, froze, and yelled at them for what they plan to do.  It only took Phoebe’s whispered words that caused her to back off.

Maybe their right, he did tell Riffelo to stab my daughter. Piper I can’t let her die. I understand but he’s not that little boy. Please, Piper, don’t let my daughter die.”  Phoebe’s words keep replaying in her head.  Piper reaches up and wipes away another tear that escapes her eyes for the lost of soft-harden boy that grows into harden young man.

Wyatt lays his head on her mother’s shoulder and wraps his arms around his mother’s neck and pats her on the back. Piper tightens her hold on him. “It’s okay honey, Mommy is just a little upset.”

Piper catches out of the corner of her eye, Paige and Sean whispering in a corner of the attic.  Piper turns to watch the exchange between the two.  Piper narrows her eyes when Sean kisses Paige gently on the forehead and then flashes out. “I wonder what that’s about” Piper asked herself.

Piper looks down at the little boy in her arms, the little boy that is her heart and soul.  “I can’t...I won’t let you die no matter what they said you’ve done” she murmured under breath.  Piper turns and steps out of the attic and looks down at Wyatt. “Wyatt, I need you to take me to the grown up version of you okay.”

“Okay” Wyatt and Piper orbs at on the simply reply.

Mel still had reservation about this plan.  Wyatt was still her brother and a part of her still loves him, a big part.  She knew that this decision wasn’t easy for Kaitlin either. Mel could see the pain written all over her cousin face.  Mel never paid much attention to her before now.

Kaitlin’s dark circles under her eyes and the paleness in her face showed Mel her exhaustion and the weight of the world that she’s been carrying.  Mel was glad that she was not in Kat’s shoes.

“Mel, we’re ready for your blood,” said Kay, pulling Mel out of her thoughts and back to the subject at hand.

Mel walks over and reaches out her hand to take the knife from Ki.  Mel looks around the room at everyone watching her. The only person that she missed was her mom. She knew her mom would not stand here to support Chris and her decision to take down their brother. Mel sighs and takes the knife to her hand making a shallow cut across her palm.  Mel closes her hand into a fist and tips it to the side so the blood would drip into the bowl with the other ingredients for the potion.

“Is that all you need” Mel asked Kat?

Kat nods her head and turns towards the sword still stuck in the stone.  Kat walks over and pulls the sword from the stone and walks back to the table with the others.  Kat lays the Excalibur along the side of Caliburn that Kay and Ian went to get earlier.  Mel watches Kat with great curiosity.  Kat closes her eyes and mumbles something under breath not loud enough for anyone to hear as she pours the potion over the two swords.  When Kat is done pouring the potion over the swords the two swords glow bluish-white and then the light fades.

                “What now,” asked Chris?

“We find your brother,” said Kat unable to keep the sadness from her voice.

                “Any ideas” asked Kay?

“The find a lost sister spell instead it will find a lost brother but you would need to change it so it takes you to him, so we can follow you,” replies Mel. “Are you sure you can’t sense him?”

“I’m sure I’ve been trying since he took Em.  We have to hurry” retorted Chris.

Kat gives Mel a shy smile and Mel returns it.  Mel knew that the argument was hard on both of them.  They said some terrible things to each other but it was Kat’s finally statement that touches Mel’s heart and changes her mind.  We would be no better than him if we allow him to keep harming others. She knew Kat was right but it still is hard for her to be a part of it. All Mel could hope for is that they can find another way.

Chris nods his head and goes over to the book and flips it to the page he needed and starts to read from it:

                                                “Powers of the brothers rise,

                                                course unseen across the skies

Come to us who calls you near,

Comes to us and settle here.

Blood to our blood, I summon thee,

Blood to our blood, take me to thee.”

Chris was engulf in swirling orbs and disappeared.

Chris appears in a room. He blinks his eyes to make them adjust to the darkness. The lights flip on and Chris shields his eyes with his hand and when he lowers his hand he widens his eyes in shock.

                “Mom!”

“I’m glad you could join us little brother, when will the other join us,” question Wyatt? Wyatt’s mouth was twist up in a half smile.

Chris made eye contact with his mother and she gave him a wary smile.  Chris looks away as his stomach tightens and twists into a knot realizing his sister, his cousin, his father, and Ian will be orbing into a trap created by his mother in conceive notions.

                “Where’s Emily, Wyatt” Chris asked?

“She’s around” answered Wyatt. “Isn’t nice that our mother came to tell me of your plan, she thought she was helping just think of her shock when she found out that she’s deliver the witches to the lion dens.”

“Wyatt happen to you” demand Piper?

“I got smart. All that good verses evil crap didn’t change a damn thing so I’m teaching them the only thing there is, is power.”

“You don’t believe that Kat would not see something like this happening” informed Chris.

“Nice try little brother but Kat would have to follow you with the Lojac spell and she will orb in right here.”

Ian orbs into a room with Kay and Kat.  Kay and Kat each had a sword in there hand.  Em was lying on a bed unconscious. Ian takes two quick steps to the side of the bed and puts his and above her.  He heals her and she wakes up.

“Kat...Kay...Ian, what’s going on? I remember Riffelo stabbing me and nothing...” Em fades off reaching behind her to feel for the wound.

“Ian healed you” informed Kat with a gentle smile. “Ian it’s time to get her out of here.”

“Wait, what about you” questioned Em?

“We have something we have to do” replies Kay pulling her into a hug.  “Go, so we can do what we have to do, your mom is waiting for you.”

Em puts her hand in Ian’s and they orb out.

Kat looks at her sister. “Are you ready?”

“If I say no will you change your mind?”

Kat bites her bottom lip. “No.”

“I didn’t think so. So I guess I’m as ready as I’ll ever be.”

Kat and Kay open the door quietly and are happy to see what was behind the door.

Chapter 27

Riffelo was sitting with his feet up on a steel storage drum.  Kat and Kay stealthily enter the room. Kat signals for Kay to stay as she creeps silently up behind him.  Kat raise the sword in her hand and comes down on the back of his head with the pommel of the sword, knocking Riffelo out.

Riffelo slumps over and falls gently off the chair onto the floor.  Kay came up behind her. “What do we do now?” Kay whispered.

“We vanquish him” Kat whispered back. “Now he can’t make any noise when we hit him with the potion.”

“What if there is an explosion” asked Kay?

“We’ll have to risk it.  We can’t let him wake up and surprise us when we go to confront Wyatt” replies Kat. Kat reaches in her pocket and pulls out the potion.  Kay grabs her arm. “Wait, I have a better idea.”

Kay quickly explains her idea to Kat. Kat nods her head in agreement.  Kay pulls out a piece of paper and a pen and writes a note on it. Kay makes a hole in the paper and hooks it over a button on Riffelo’s shirt.  Kat hands her the potion and Kay puts it in Riffelo’s pocket. Kay says a spell and orbs swirl around Riffelo and he vanishes.

“That was a great idea to send him back to the Manor so the others can vanquish him” said Kat with a smile.

“Every once and awhile I have one” replies Kay.  Kat elbows her sister.  “You always have good ideas. It’s just that mine are better.”

Kay smacks her sister playful on the arm and gives Kat a smile.  Kat smiles back. “Come on we have a job to do.”

Kay and Kat quietly head toward the door on the other side of the room.  Kat takes a hold of the doorknob.  Kat grits her teeth as she turns the knob and opens the door. The door lets out a loud creak. Kat peeks around the door and sees nothing but an empty hallway.  Kat opens the door a little further and steps in to the hallway and waves for Kay to follow.  When Kay joins Kat in the hallway she lets a breath that she was holding.

Kat leans to her sister and whispers in her ear. “Are you nervous?” Kay gives her sister a you’ve-go-to-be-kidding, look and nods her head. Kat lets a quiet chuckle and heads towards the door at the end of the hall. Kay is following very close behind her sister.  Kat can feel her sister’s breath on the back of her neck. Kat stops and Kay bumps into her.  “Will you stop breathing down by neck” Kat said quietly between clench teeth.

“Will you not stop without warning me” retorted Kay softly. “What do you think is behind the door?”

Kat shrugs. “It could be Wyatt.  I’m not sure, so we better be ready for anything.”

Kat and Kay tiptoe to the door and Kat takes a hold of the doorknob. Kay grabs Kat’s arm. Kat gives her a look of confusion. “Don’t open it. I have a bad feeling about this.  Look I have goosebumps” whispered Kay. Kat looks at Kay’s arm as Kay rubs her hand up and down her arm trying to get rid of the goosebumps.  Kat nods and released the doorknob.  Kay and Kat back up from the door.

“What do we do now” Kay asked Kat?

“We find a different way into that room,” answered Kat warily.

Kay and Kat made their way back to the other room.  They enter the room and Kay finds a light switch and flips it on.  When the room was illuminated it revealed a staircase.  Kat pointed at the staircase and Kay followed her.  They found another door and Kat slowly opened it.  The door opened out on to a catwalk.  Kay and Kat proceed out onto the catwalk and follow its path.

They walk about twenty feet when they heard familiar voices. Kat and Kay slow their progress and looks down.  Kay gasp when she sees Piper, little Wyatt, Chris and grown Wyatt in a heated conversation.

“What do we do now” whispered Kay?

“Why do you keep asking me that? I don’t have all the answers and I surely wasn’t expecting this” retorted Kat quietly.

Kay looks around and spots a spiral staircase at the end of the catwalk. “Kaitlin, look” Kay uttered pointing to the end of the catwalk.

Kat smiles at her sister and nods. They inch their way to the end of the catwalk and step softly down the staircase that landed them in the shadows and hopefully without Wyatt knowing that they’re there.

Kat and Kay crouch down behind some crates to plan their next move.  Kat slowed her breathing so if the room grew silent they would not be discovered.  Kay followed suit.

Kat peeps around the crate to see what was occurring between her aunts and her cousins.  Kat had noticed that Aunt Piper looks defeated by the cruel reality of what her son grew into.  Kat still was wondering would see let her do what she had to do.

Kat looks back at her sister and signaled that she was going to move closer on this side and for her to work her way around the room in the shadows and take him from the other side.  Kay gives her a slight nod of understanding and turns to make her way to the other side of the room.  Kat watches her sister go for a few seconds before she proceed to move toward the people in the middle of the room, so she could put herself in a better place to make her attack.

Kat gets behind a large storage drum and peer around the drum to check to see where her sister is.  She spots her sister crouched down behind another crate.  Kat and Kay make eye contact.  Kat points to the watch on her wrist and holds up one finger.  Kay gestures back that she understands and looks down at her watch.

Kat watches as the seconds tick down to the time decided on, as the time gets closer Kat grips the sword tighter and holds her breath. Fifty-six, fifty-seven, fifty-eight, Kat begins to stand up, fifty-nine, Kat stands completely up and lets out a battle cry, sixty.

Kat charges Wyatt bringing his attention towards her and leaving Kay to attack from behind silently.  Wyatt reacts quickly flinging his hand and send Kat flying backwards and crashing into the storage drums.

Piper went to alert Wyatt of Kay’s attack but Chris puts his hand over his mother’s mouth and alerts little Wyatt of danger which causes him to bring up his force field.

Kay is able to attack without Wyatt’s knowledge and she is able to strike him in the arm.  Wyatt screams and hits Kay which knocks her to the ground.  Kat is able to get back to her feet and raises the sword in front of her and rushes at Wyatt again.  Wyatt looks up just in time to be hit in the leg with Kat’s downward slice.  Kat’s cut brings him down on his one knee and he sends Kat flying across the room again.

Kay recovers quickly and begins her attack on her cousin again and strikes his other arm while he’s down.  Wyatt yells from the pain and sends Kay sailing through the air.  Kay lands hard on the floor which knocks the breath out of her.  Wyatt glares and then a sword orbs into his right hand.

Kat was waiting for this.  She knew that Wyatt would have to call for his Excalibur. Kat strides towards Wyatt with a new sense of confidence.

“You’re going to pay for this, Kaitlin” growled Wyatt.

“If you thing you can take me then bring it on” retorted Kat smugly.

Wyatt charges at Kat and Kat spins and deflect his first attack.  Wyatt spins back around and thrusts his sword and Kat sweeps down with her sword and block Wyatt’s attack which sends him by her. Kat recovers quickly by spinning hundred and eighty degrees to face Wyatt. Kat slices low and catches Wyatt on the back of the thigh. Wyatt screams and spins to face Kat.  Kat give Wyatt a slight smile and salutes him with her sword. Wyatt glares at her and lunges at her.  Kat side steps him and bring her sword down on top of his causing his sword to strike the concrete floor that cause sparks to fly.  Kat retreat a little to recover.  Kat twirls the sword and beckons Wyatt with her free hand.  Wyatt straightens his stand, lets out a breath and twirls his own sword in his hand.  Kat and Wyatt circle each other like to lions waiting for the perfect opportunity to attack.

Kay finally catches her breath and walks towards the battle going on between her sister and cousin.  Kat holds up her hand to ward off Kay’s own attack on Wyatt.  Kay walks up and stands next to Piper and Chris, which were still lock in little Wyatt’s force field.

Wyatt things he sees an opening and begins his attack on Kat again. Wyatt swings high and Kat retreats just in time as the tip of Wyatt’s blade misses her by inches.  Wyatt regains quickly and thrusts at Kat.   Kat swings low to deflect his sword then she comes back with a high sword that Wyatt is able to block easily.

They mirror each other which seem like hours.  Their skills parallel each others.   The only difference between the two is that Kat was able to find more opens causing slight injuries to Wyatt.

Kat lowers her sword causing Wyatt to think that she was getting tired.  Wyatt lunges at Kat and Kat quickly sides steps but instead of blocking his sword she sticks out her swords and brings it across Wyatt’s mid-section then she spins out and catches him his back slicing from his shoulder to his waist.  Wyatt drops his sword and falls to his hand and knees.

Kat hears Piper scream from the distances as she kicks Wyatt’s sword away.  She brings her sword above her left shoulder readying herself to give the finally blow.  Kat begins her finally blow when—,”

Chapter 28

Kat started her finally blow when the sword vanished from her hand.  She brought her hand down to look at it very confused and glanced back at her sister. Kay’s look of surprise has to be a mirror of her own expression. Kat looks over at her aunt and cousins to see if little Wyatt called for the sword but the sword wasn’t anywhere to be seen.

Kat looks down at the defeated Wyatt. He had fallen to his stomach and his eyes were now closed.

Little Wyatt had dropped his force field and Piper hands him to Chris. Piper moved quickly to her injured son.  She shoves a surprised Kat out of the way and drops to her son’s side.   Piper turns him over and cradles his head in her lap as she calls for her husband.

Orbs appear in the room and when the orbs fade away Leo, Phoebe, Mel and Kiley are standing there.  A few seconds later they are joined by Ian, Emily, Paige and the triplets.

“Leo, hurry he’s dying,” cried Piper.

Leo went to heal his eldest son. “Uncle Leo, no” yelled Kat. “You can’t he has to be stopped.”

“You failed Kaitlin, I won’t sit here and let my son die” informed Piper.

Leo went to kneel down next to Wyatt when his body was surrounded by a golden glow and all his wounds healed before their eyes. Wyatt opens his eyes and he quickly tries to get up but he can’t move.

“What the...,” Leo said fading off when he heard voices from behind him making him and the others to turn around.

Walking towards them was Sean and with a large smile on her face was his Aunt Awena, the Queen of Avalon.  She was carrying Excalibur.

“You have the sword” Kat asked surprised.

Awena walks up to her great niece and touches her gently on her cheek. “Who else besides Wyatt could have call for the sword but the Queen of Avalon and let us not forget I’m also a descendent of its maker; as well as you and your sisters.”

Kat pulls from her touch. “Why did you stop me? And why did you heal him?”

Awena sighs. “It’s simple I could not let you kill him. When your father arrived at Avalon and alerted me to what was going on.  I knew I had to stop you from making a grave mistake.”

“Do you have any idea what he’s done” yelled Kat.  Kat knew she was letting her anger show but she didn’t care.  Awena interfered with something she had no right to.

“I know exactly what he’s done.  I stop you from killing a member of your family” Awena said clarify her actions. “And I would do it again.  Excalibur, once before was used to attack a family member and we know how that turned out; don’t we?”

“He had my fiancé and daughter killed. He had his minion torture me.  He had a warlock stab Em and he’s actions as cost the lives of hundreds of innocent people.  And you saved him” Kat said through clench teeth as her anger rose.

“I save him to save you” replied Awena.

“Why do you people keep stopping me from doing what needs to be done” yelled Kat? “I don’t need saved.”

Sean walks over to his daughter and pulls her into his arms.  Kat tries to push him away but her father tightens his grip.  “You are doing all of this not for justice but revenge whether you believe it or not.  If your mother and I allowed you to kill Wyatt not only would you regret it eventually but Piper would not be able to forgive you and the baby that is you in this time would pay for your actions.  You would lose the love of your Aunt and I can’t let that happen.” Sean looks at Paige and amended his statement. “We can’t let that happen.”

Awena lays her hand on Sean’s shoulder. Awena turns her attention towards Wyatt still lying motionless on the floor.  She walks over and crooks her finger to beckon Wyatt in to a standing position.  “Just because I stop my great-niece from killing you; doesn’t mean you won’t pay for your crimes.  You’ve been accused of some terrible things and certain individuals in the future demand that you stand trial for your alleged crimes.  I promised those individual that I would deliver you to them.”

“Who are these individuals,” questioned Leo?

Awena frowned. “The Ancients, the remaining Elders, the Council of Druids, my future self along with certain high ranking members of Avalon’s court, and high ranking demons will sit in judgment of him.  He will have a right to council. Leo, he is accused of some horrendous crimes.  Some he done himself and other crimes he ordered others to do his bidding.  I’m sorry.”

“No, I understand” replies Leo putting his arm around his wife.

“You don’t have the power to hold me” grumbled Wyatt.

Awena walks up so she was right in front of Wyatt.  She was showing absolutely no fear. “The only power you have Mr. Halliwell is an illusion because you only have power when other allows you to have it and that day is done.  If you think those certain individual will stand behind you than you are greatly mistaken.  Those types of people only help themselves and they will cut their losses and my dear boy you have just became a liability.  You better hope you can make it to trial. Your acquaintance may feel it’s necessary to tie up loose ends if you know what I mean. ”

Awena turns to her nephew. “I can take them as well.”

Sean looked at the Charmed Ones’ future children in the room. “I think we can find a way to get them back.  If we can’t then we will take you up on your offer.”

Awena hugs her nephew. “Don’t be a stranger.” Sean gives her a half smile and nods his head.

Awena pulls a wand out of her purse and puts it in front of her and a portal appears a short distance in front of her.  She pointed her hand at Wyatt and made a lifting gesture and Wyatt rose a few inches off the floor. She then waves her hand across her body and Wyatt floated forward and through the portal. “May the faiths shine brightly on you,” she said then followed Wyatt through the portal.

Phoebe looks at everyone and gives them shy smile. “Let’s go home.”

Chapter 29

Piper and Leo are standing next to Wyatt’s crib watching him sleep.  Leo has Piper pulled snuggly against his side.  Kat watches from the doorway.

Kat could not believe what had happen this afternoon.  She stood there wondering if she should knock or just barge in. Kat decides she’d knock.

Thud, thud, thud, Piper and Leo turns toward the door.  Kat gives them a shy smile.  “Can I have a word with you, please?”

Piper frowns and looks at Leo.  Leo kisses his wife on her forehead lays a protective hand on her belly and walks towards the door.  Leo pauses in front of Kat.  Kat swallowed hard trying to push down the emotional lump that had settled in her throat.  Leo gives his niece a gently smile.  He leans forward and brushes his lips gently on her cheek.  Leo straightens back up and gives her a reinsuring smile, nods his head and gives her shoulder a gently squeeze.  He glances back at his wife and smiles at her and she shyly smiles back.  Leo walks out the door leaving the two women to try to fix a niece and aunt relationship that really just had begun.  The door click closed behind him.

Piper turns her back on her niece and looks back at her sleeping son.  Kat frowns and looks down at the floor and lets out a slow breath. She really wasn’t sure how to start this conversation.

She walks up to stand next to Piper.  Kat looks down at her cousin and is overwhelmed with memories of growing up with him.  She closes her eyes to fight back the emotions that were so close of overwhelming her.

After a few minutes Kat breaks the silence.  “Dad was right.”

Piper glances at her niece. “About what?”

                “I would have regretted...you know.”

                “Killing him,” said Piper coldly.

“Yeah” Kat said barely above the whisper. “That’s not all the regrets I would have had; the fact that I would have lost the love of one of two of my favorite aunts.”

                “You only have two aunts.”

Kat lays her hand on Piper’s and Piper turns to face her.  “Aunt Piper I have to tell you something and I would like for you not to say anything until I’m done. Okay?” Piper nods her head doing exactly what Kat asked her to do.  Kat gives a wary smile.  “The Wyatt you seen today was not the Wyatt I grew up with.  Wyatt was always sweet and thoughtful but something changed him.  He was there for me when Zach Whitman broke my heart by going to the spring formal with Sheri “big boobs” Wilson. He told me that Zach was stupid because one day he would realize how special I was then he told me that I was to good for that...” Kat smiled at the memory. “I love him like a brother, even when he turned evil.” Tears start to fill Kat and Piper’s eyes.  “I started the cycle of revenge...not on purpose but accidentally.  An innocent that I was trying to protect, a future whitelighter, was in danger by a darklighter.  I vanquished this darklighter but I didn’t know that this darklighter was Wyatt’s girlfriend and was carrying his baby not until a few days later.  He wanted me to pay so he toke from me what I toke from him and the revenge began.”

Kat lets go of Piper’s hand and turns around unable to look in her eyes anymore as guilt and regrets sinks into her heart. “I can’t say if I wouldn’t have vanquished her but...” Kat turns back around to face her aunt. “I’m sorry Aunt Piper I let my pain blind me and I almost lost you and Wyatt because of it. I promise you this I will try to figure out what change him and stop it, even if it’s the last thing I do.”

Kat’s tears finally broke free from her eyes and streams down her cheeks.  Piper’s tears begin to fall down her cheeks. Piper closes the gap between them and pulls her niece into her arms when a sob breaks from Kat.  “I’m...sorry...Aunt...Piper...please; don’t stop...loving me.”

“Shhh, I’m not going to stop loving you.  I’m just upset that I’m a failure”

Kat pulls back from Piper’s embrace to look at her aunt with a confused expression.  “You didn’t fail, Wyatt, Mel or Chris.  You were....you are a great mother.  I know this because I had three mothers. You and Aunt Phoebe were always more like mothers to me and my sisters than Aunts. So don’t you ever think you fail them or any of us because you didn’t?”

“Thank you for say that but if I was a great mother Wyatt would not have turned evil.”

“No, you stop that.  Wyatt turning evil had nothing to do with you and everything to do with the choices he made” bellowed Kat.

                “But—,”

Kat hold up her hand cutting her off. “No buts, I know I grew up here and Mel, Chris and the rest of us didn’t turn evil.  Something or someone turn him and it sure as hell wasn’t you.”

Piper smiles at her niece, “Are you always so expressive?”

“Someone once told me that I should never be scared to speak my mind.”

                “Who told you that, Phoebe?”

“No, you did.” Kat said seriously.

Piper looks at her niece a little surprised. “And don’t you ever forget.”

“I won’t, if you don’t ever forget that you are a great mother and aunt.”

Piper hugs her niece again and then there was a knock at the door.  Piper and Kat breaks their hug as the door slowly opens.  Phoebe leans her head into the room. “Are we interrupting?”  Phoebe opens the door wider to reveal Paige standing behind her.

Kat looks at her Aunt Piper. “No, I was just leaving.  I’m sure you three want to spend some sisterly time together, so I’ll just get out of the way.”

“You don’t have to go” said Phoebe.

“Yeah” Kat looks at Paige and Piper. “Yeah I do.”  Kat reaches and squeezes Piper’s hand and starts to walk out the room when Paige grabs her and pulls her into a motherly hug.  “I’m so proud of the person you turned into.”

Kat pulls out of the hug. “Believe me when I say your future self won’t be so sure of that.” Kat walks at the door and pulls it shut behind her.

Paige stood there staring at the door for a few seconds.  “I wonder what she meant by that?”

“Who knows I’m still trying to get over the fact that the man I’m marrying tomorrow is not the father of my daughter” answered Phoebe.

Piper shakes her head as she turns and leaves Wyatt’s room.  She walks into her own with her sisters on her heels.

“So Piper, did you forgive our niece” asked Phoebe?

“Yeah I did. I also understand that it was hard for her to do what she did.  She loves him even now” explained Piper, as she eases herself down on her bed. When she finally gets settled she decides to go on. “I think they all are hurting.  I would love to some how relieve some of it.”

“I think we all would but I think that we have to leave it up to our future selves” said Paige.

“Do you think I should marry Jason” inquired Phoebe, surprising her sisters with the question?

Phoebe flops down next to Piper on her bed.  Piper wraps her arm around Phoebe and Phoebe lays her head on her big sister’s shoulder. “Oh honey you’re just having cold feet and no one would blame you with the whole Cole thing and now finding out about Em but I do know one thing he loves you with all his heart and if you give up on that chance to be in love than I thing you’re making a big mistake.”

“Phoebe, if you don’t marry him you may regret it for the rest of your life and for me I thing we will have more then enough regrets in our lives” added Paige to reinforce Piper statement.

“So you both feel I should marry him” asked Phoebe?

“Yes” Piper and Paige said in unison.

Phoebe giggles “I guess I’m getting married tomorrow.”

“Now that’s out of the way do we send our children back to the future before or after the wedding” queried Paige?

Piper, Phoebe and Piper looks at one another as the leave the question hanging in the air.

Chapter 30

Kay is sitting at the kitchen table with her head down. The morning light was shiny through the window bathing Kay in a halo of light.  Kat and Ki walk in and stop at the doorway noticing the package of saltines and ginger ale sitting in front of her.  Kat and Ki look at each other and go and join their sister at the table.  Kay raises her head when she heard the movement of chairs.

“Let me guess morning sickness,” Kat said stating the obviously.

Kay frowns at her sister. “Morning sickness? This started at eleven o’clock last night.  I’m just glad that Mom and Aunt Piper and Phoebe are all wrap up in the wedding that they didn’t notice me puking up my heels in the bathroom.

“Ahhh, poor baby” said Ki mockingly.

“I can’t wait until you’re pregnant so I can’t pay you back” retorted Kay.

“At least I won’t be hiding it from anyone” Ki countered back.

“Really so when Ian gets you pregnant you’re going to tell Mom and Dad you’ve been dating him for some time” said Kat stopping the argument before it gets started. “So, honey, you think you can hold it together long enough for us to get sent home.”

“When are we going home?”  Mel asked as Em and her walks into the room. Mel stop abruptly and Em runs into her. “Kay, are you okay?”

“Yeah, you’re looking a little green” added Em.

“I’m fine” snapped Kay.  Kay reaches over and pulls a saltine out and takes a small bite.

Mel and Em raise the brow at her harsh response. “Okay” they said in unison.

Kat frowns at Kay “She feeling a little under the weather. She just doesn’t want anyone to worry.”

“With the way you’re eating saltines, someone might get the impression that you’re pregnant” said Mel. Mel catches the look shared between the triplets.  “Oh My...you’re pregnant aren’t you?”

Kay looks down at the table and nods her head.  Mel and Em pulls out a chair and join the others at the table.

“Oh my...Who’s the father” asked Em?

“That’s not important right now” answered Kat for her sister.

“Not important, I wouldn’t say that, someone got you pregnant and does he know his about to be a father? Kay, I never knew you were even seeing anyone” Em rambled on.

“Em, please when we get back to the future, we’ll talk about it then; right now, we need to talk about what we’re going to do about saving Wyatt.” Kat looks at Mel and smiles at her.

“What” asked Mel confused? “You still what to save him from turning evil?”

“Yeah, more now than ever,” answered Kat.

“I think we should leave Chris here to do what he was meant to do” replied Ki.

                “Really, Chris” asked Em?

“Chris is the only one who still has his powers so he’s the most logically choice” explained Kat.

“Hey, here’s where you ladies disappeared to” Chris said with a smile.

The five women look over at the all with a mischievous grin.  Chris’s smile fades as he felt his stomach knot up and strange feeling of doom to come over him.  “Why are you guys looking at me like that?”

“Bro, you’re the man we were looking for” said Mel.

“Really?” Chris raises an eyebrow at the others.  He’s not sure if he really what’s to know why they was looking at him.

Ki gets up and pulls out her chair. “Cuz, why don’t you take a seat and listen to our plan?”

“Why do I have a feeling I’m not going to like this?” Chris drags his feet as he walks over to take a seat at the table. He walks over like he was walking to his execution.

“Tsk, Tsk, Is the wee baby scared” Ki mocked.

Chris gives her a slight shove as he takes a seat.  Kat smiles and proceed to tell Chris their plan for him.  After a few minutes of refined discussion Chris agrees to the plan.

Everyone raises and Mel walks over to him. Mel grabs her brother and pulls him into a sisterly hug.  “You better stay save because if something happens to you I’ll come back her and kick your butt.”

“Yeah, who and what army” Chris joked, trying to bring ease to his sisters stress.

Mel breaks the hug and Kay pull him into another one. “This is who and we’re the army.” Kay breaks the hug and turns away so he doesn’t see the tears that well up in her eyes.

“Kay, are you crying” questioned Chris?

“No, why would I be crying. I just have something in my eye,” Kay walks away to give the other a chance to say their goodbyes.

“Darn hormones” murmured Kay. Chris looks at her a little strange.

Ki and Kat start to laugh “Oh just ignore her, its hormones” said Ki.

Chris gives Ki a confused look. “Hormones?

Ki steps up and takes her turn to say goodbye to her cousin. “I want you to enjoy yourself and take advantage of getting to know our parents when they were young.”

Chris pulls back and looks down in his cousin’s eyes. “You would,” smiled Chris. “If you thing I’m going to get any incriminating evidence to hold against your parents, so you could prove that they’re only human; forget it.

“You’re no fun” Ki said jokingly.   Ki and Chris both laughed and Chris pulled her into another hug. “Take care of yourself.” Ki breaks the hug still holding on to his arms. “Always.”

Chris looks over to Kat waiting her turn. Chris steps around Ki and step in front of Kat.  Chris grabs Kat’s shoulder then he pulls her into a hug. “I’m so proud of you and I’m glad you’re my cousin.”

“I’m glad you’re my cousin, too” replies Kat. “Don’t you take any unnecessary risk and get yourself hurt because if you do, I’ll never forgive you.”

“You mean you’ll never forgive yourself” replies Chris. “Hey don’t worry, I’m a Halliwell.”

Kat breaks the hug. “That’s what I’m worried about.” Kat smiles at Chris and he returns it.

“Hey, it’s my turn” said Em. Em goes up to her cousin and pulls him into a hug. “I won’t say goodbye but I will say see you later.”

Chris pulls back from the hug and kisses his baby cousin gently on her forehead. “I’ll see you later, too.”  Chris pulls out of the hug grabs his sister hand. “I’ll miss you.”

                “Me, too” Mel replies.

Chris lets go of her hand and looks at everyone and gives them a weary smile. He orbs out.

“I guess it time to find the parents” said Mel and she heads for the door and the others are falling her.

Chapter 31

Piper stands in front of a full length mirror.  She’s pulling at the royal blue fabric of her bridesmaid dress that was stretch taut over her pregnant belly.  “I can’t believe this dress is so tight. I just tried it on four days ago.” Piper mumbled to herself.  An eruption of giggles coming from behind her causes her to spin around.

Standing in the doorway with a large smile on her face was her daughter.

“I don’t know what you’re laughing at, young lady. It’s because of you and your brother is why I can’t fit in this dress,” Piper chastised.

Mel walks into her mother’s bedroom. “Hey you can’t blame me for this.  I had nothing to do with you getting pregnant.  I’m just there for the ride.” Mel pats her mother’s belly. “Where’s Dad?”

“Your Father is next door at your Aunt Paige’s getting ready for the wedding.  Your Uncle Sean and he are watching the trips and Wyatt.  They are giving us a little time before the wedding to get ready and spend time with you before we send you back after the wedding.”

Mel gives her mother a little frown. “Yeah, see that’s why I need to talk to you.  We, meaning the others feel that you should send us back before the wedding.”

Piper can’t believe what she hearing.  She wanted to spend a little time with her daughter and son with out chaos.  Piper grabs her daughter’s hand and pulls her over to join her on the bed.  Piper struggles to sit down with the tight dress and her large belly. “Your aunt should have waited until after I had you and your brother, before her walk down the aisle.” Mel smiles at her mother’s statement. Piper finally gets herself comfortable and then turns to face her daughter. “Why do you what to go home now?”

Mel sighs. “I feel and so does the other that we’ve messed with the timeline long enough.”

“Sweetie but I would like to get to know you and your brother better” Piper said lovingly.

“Mom you will get to know us” Especially Chris she thought. “When you raise us. We didn’t go to Aunt Pheeb’s wedding.  We need to be sent home.” Mel takes her mother’s hand.

********

“Mom we have to go home this isn’t our time,” Em was sitting on the edge of bed making eye contact with her mother through the mirror of her vanity.  Phoebe was sitting there at her vanity in a Vera Wang original.

“I want you at my wedding,” replies Phoebe, as she twists in the chair to look at her daughter.

“Mommmm” Em exasperated. “We can’t stay for the wedding and you know it.  We don’t know how much of the timeline we change and going to your wedding more than liking would be the biggest mistake we could make; besides I don’t want to go.”

“Why don’t you want to go” questioned Phoebe?

“I just don’t, okay. I’m not saying anymore so don’t ask” snapped Em. “But just because I don’t want to go you need to marry Jason for no other reason than your own happiness.”

Phoebe stares at her daughter.  She was still wondering if she should still marry Jason but as she seats her looking at her daughter.  Phoebe knows; she has to go through with it because Em told her to.  “You know you are so beautiful.”

“Yea, I heard that ones or twice” Em smiled at her mother.

Phoebe smiles and gets up out of the chair and joins her daughter on her bed. Phoebe takes Em’s hand in hers. “So I guess I don’t have much time to get to know you.  I don’t even know when you’re born.”

“And you won’t know, that’s one of those things I can’t tell you and you already know that” said Em.  She narrows her eyes at her mother. “I can’t believe you’re trying to get information out of me because your future self would have yelled at me for even trying.”

“Well you can’t punish a girl for trying” said Phoebe, putting an arm around her daughter. Phoebe gives a quick kiss on the cheek.

********

“Mom we can make the spell to go back home.  Why don’t you finish getting ready for Aunt Pheeb’s wedding?” Ki pick up a pad and pen and handed to Kat.

Paige looks at her three girls and gives a shy smile. She walks over and takes a seat on the couch in the Manor’s attic.  They went up their after the trips informed their mother that they were ready to go back to their own time.  “I don’t know why you can’t wait until after the ceremony before going back to your time.”

“Because we explained why” answered Kay.

“This isn’t our time” added Ki.

Kat looks up from the pad. “We’ve been here long enough and I’m...we’re ready to go home.”

                “You are home” retorted Paige.

“No, Mom we’re not.  This is the little ones time and home.  We’ve already lived this it’s their turn.”

“You showed up in out lives and inform us that Wyatt turns evil and that your fighting against him.  You tell us what you’ve gone through and just expect us to send you back there,” Paige said sadly.

“Yes, Mom we do” answered Kay.

Paige lets out a sigh on a long breath.  “I know you’re right but it is hard sending you back where you could get hurt.”

“We’re not going to get hurt” said Ki reassuringly.

Paige knew that they had to go back but not this soon.  She wants them to stay just a little longer.  She wants to know the women they grew into.  This one time magic is bitter-sweet. “It still doesn’t make it any easier to send you back to your own time.  I know you can take care of your selves but I still can’t stop worrying about you.  You’re my babies.”

Kat lays the pen down and heads over to join her mother on the couch.  Ki drags a wooden chair over to sit in front of her mother and Kay flops down on the other side of her mother.  “We love you to mom and you don’t have to worrying because you taught us how to survive."  Paige’s eyes fill with tears as her daughter wrap their arms around her.

Chapter 32

“Are you sure you can’t stay for the ceremony” asked Phoebe?

“No, Aunt Phoebe we really should get back to our own time” answered Mel.

Phoebe was wearing her wedding dress and Piper and Paige donned their royal blue bridesmaid dresses.  Leo and Sean was deck out in their tuxes, even little Wyatt was styling in his very own tux.  The triplets are wearing dresses that are baby replicates of their mother’s and aunt’s.

Leo looks at his watch. “If we’re going to do this then we better get it done the wedding starts in forty-five minutes.”

“Chris isn’t here we can’t send them back without him” informed Piper.

“Mom it’s okay. You can send him later” explained Mel

Sean is watching his three girls.  They were huddling behind the others whispering to one another.  Sean knew that something was up but he didn’t know what.  He had a feeling that Chris was MIA for a reason.  The reason was right in front of him but he could quite see it. Sean knew that his daughter and the other had a plan.  They weren’t going to just give up on Wyatt.  Chris had come back in time to try to save Wyatt and he has a feeling that’s why he’s not here right now. Just a feeling.  “Piper, I think it would be all right to send Chris back to the future later.  If they feel they should get back right now may be we should honor their wishes.”

The Charmed Ones turns and looks and frown at Sean.  Sean raises an eyebrow at them and smiles and the Charmed Ones turns back around to face their daughters.

“Okay.” Piper said with a sigh.

Mel smiles and goes to hand her mother the spell that Kat wrote earlier.  Piper waves her hand to dismiss the spell that Mel was trying to hand her.  “No we wrote our own spell and that’s the spell we’ll use.”

The girls came forward and hug their mothers.  Mel hugs Leo while Kat, Ki, and Kay hug Sean. Em hugs both her uncles.  The girls move away from their parents and stand waiting for their mothers to say the spell.

“All right are you five ready” asked Phoebe?

“Yeah” the girls say in unison.

“Okay” replies Piper.  Piper looks at her sisters and they nod their heads.  Piper picks up the spell off the table and steps towards the girls and Phoebe and Paige flank her.

The Charmed Ones begin to read:

                                Spirits of time and Space,

Send our children to their rightful space.

They no longer have to roam

So protect them on the journey home.

The white orbs starts to swirl around the five young women and then in a flash they for gone.  Paige and Phoebe put their arms around their big sister and Phoebe lays her head on Piper’s shoulder.

“Our children are going to grow to be beautiful young ladies” Phoebe said smiling.

“My question is where the heck is our son,” Leo said, coming up behind and snaking his arm around her when Phoebe and Paige walk way.

“Oh I’m sure he’ll show when he supposed to” said Sean.  Sean walks over and puts his arm around Paige’s waist.  “I have a feeling that this was their plan all the time.”

“Their plan?” Phoebe turns towards her brother-in-law.  “What do you mean their plan?”

“They sent Chris back here to save Wyatt and I don’t think their done trying” elaborated Sean.

“Well I have news for them.  Chris is not staying.  We have no idea what his presents here will do to the future” retorted Leo. “He’s going to go back to his own time.”

Sean chuckled. “Leo, I don’t think they would have left him behind if they didn’t have a plan on keeping him here. I get the impression that they are their mothers’ daughters.

Paige turns in Sean’s arms so she can look up at him. “What does that mean?”

“It means that when their minds are made up there’s no way of changing it.”

“Here, Here that is so true” added Leo.

Piper turns and smacks Leo on the arm.

“Ow, what was that for” asked Leo.

“That’s for being a smart mouth” responded Piper annoyed.

Sean glances at his watch. “We better get to the church.  Jason is probable getting worried.”

There is a light knock on the door. “Come in” said Piper. The door opens slowly and Victor, Piper and Phoebe father, steps into the dressing room.  He was wearing a black tuxedo that made him look very regal. “You girls about ready...you girls are beautiful.”

Phoebe jumps up from the chair she was sitting in and went over and hugs her father. “Thanks, Daddy.”

“So where’s the girls” Victor asked Paige.

Paige points over to a portable crib. “Over there.”

Victor walks over and looks down on the babies that he adopted as his grandchildren.  “They’ve gotten so big.”

“Yeah I can’t convince them to stop growing” said Paige, as a large smile appears on her face.

“Who’s watching them during—” Victor is cut off by a knock on the door.

The door opens and Sheila Morris enters the room. “Hey you guys ready for me to watch the girls.”

“I guess that’s the answer to the question I was about to ask.” Victor turns to Phoebe. “So, sweetie, are you about ready to walk down the aisle to your husband to be.”

Phoebe walks over and hooks her arm in her fathers. “I’m as ready as I’ll ever be.”

“Okay” replies her father. “You two better grab your flowers.”

Paige picks up her and Piper’s flowers. She hands Piper hers and then pick up Phoebe’s bouquet and hands it to her.  She thanks Sheila for watching the girls and they headed to the door.

Phoebe and Jason exchange their vows and then they headed to the reception.  Paige and Piper are standing talking to Darryl and Sheila.  “A normal wedding in your family is rare” said Darryl

“Darryl” exasperated Sheila. “He didn’t mean that.”

“It’s okay Sheila. He’s right most of our weddings are performed by spirits and your sister astral projects and runs off with a biker” said Piper.

“Or by Ancients that kidnaps you and takes you to a clearing in the woods. Where you find out that there was a vision that occurred twenty five hundred years ago that foreseen your marriage,” added Paige.

“Or a demon crashing the ceremony and almost killing Paige” said Leo, walking up behind them.

“Okay I get the picture, a normal wedding doesn’t happen in this family” said Sheila.

The reception and dance went on through the night without a hitch, no demons, and no major catastrophe.  There were a few reporters from the Bay Mirror, whom got a little drunk and Jason called a cab to get them home.  Phoebe stood watching everyone’s happiness but she couldn’t seem to get rid of the feeling that this was the calm before the storm. Halliwell weddings don’t go this smoothly.  She was waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Paige and Piper came up to their sister and throw their arms around her. “The wedding and the reception is going great” said Piper.

“Yeah and doesn’t that make you uneasy” asked Phoebe?

                “No, why” asked Paige?

“Come on, we don’t have normal weddings and it scares me. It’s like the powers that be are letting me have this one perfect day. Does Leo know anything?”

“Phoebe, sweetie, just enjoy the day” said Paige.

“I can’t I just have a bad feeling.”  Phoebe hugs her sisters and walks away.

“Should we be worried” Paige asked Piper?

“Not until we have to” answered Piper.

Piper and Paige watch their sister walk across the ballroom to join her husband.

٭ ٭ ٭

A cave was lit by a few torches.  The walls of the cave were covered with cave paintings.  The cave paintings show the history of the O’Hara family and the Charmed Line. Chris knew this was the cave that his Uncle Sean discovered the scroll written by an ancient druid or an Ancient allowing Paige and Sean to get married.

Chris seats on the cold ground with his knees bent.  Chris had his arms resting over his knees and his head was laying on them.  Chris noticed a bluish-light enter the room and he raises his head.  A portal had open along the wall across from him.  Three individuals wearing royal blue hooded cloaks trimmed in ancient Celtic designs.  The three individuals reach up and pull their hoods down to reveal Kat, Ki, and Kay.

“Hi Chris, are you all right” asked Kat?

“I’m fine. How’s Wyatt” questioned Chris?

“Mel has signed up to defend him. She’s trying to just get his powers stripped and not to have him banished to some parallel universe” answered Kay.

                “How’s it going” Chris inquired?

“We don’t know yet. The trail is still three days away and every time one of his minions attack...Let’s just say, it doesn’t look good.  That’s way it is imperative, that you find out whom turns him evil and what the Avatars of Power have to do with it,” informed Kat.

Ki steps forward and pulls a gold chain from her cloak. It has some kind of emblem hanging from it. Ki steps behind Chris and drapes the necklace around his neck and hooks it. Chris picks up the emblem on the necklace and looks at it.  It was a triquetra and triskele connected together. “What’s this for?”

“That Cuz is how you’re going to stay in this time. Now that you’re wearing the necklace no one is able to send you back. There is only two ways you can come back to the future. One: you find out who turns Wyatt evil and stop him or her. Two: we bring you back.” Kat gives Chris a slight smile. “Don’t rely on the second one. We are counting on you.”

“As long as I don’t have too much pressure” Chris joked. Kat smiles at him.

Kat, Kay, and Ki join hands and turn their back on Chris. A blue cloud appears above them a streak of lightening comes out of it and hits the wall. Where the light strikes a portal opens up.

Kay turns back around to face him. “Chris, be careful and good luck.” Kay turns back around and they all raise their hoods back up over the head and they walk through the portal.

Chris watches them leave. “I’ll need a lot of luck.” Chris smiles then he orbs out.
