TWO WEEKS AFTER “Charmed Got Gamed”…

Alternate Realities Bite

Chapter 1

The early morning light filter through the Manor’s kitchen.  It was like every other morning in the Manor, except Kian and Piper was in a quiet, intense conversation.

“Piper, I don’t know what you want from me?” Kian said just above a whisper not to let the whole house in on their conversion.  Kian stabbed his chocolate chip pancakes and closed his eye enjoying his favorite breakfast food.  He remembered how when he was a kid his Aunt Piper would fix them for him when he had a bad day.  He was amazed that Piper had fixed them for him the past three day after finding out that they were his favorite.

“I just want to tell them; that’s all,” Piper retorted.  “They have the right to know, and while I’m on this topic why don’t you tell me why you hate us so much in the future.  We’re you family.”  Piper gave him a poignant stare.

Kian sighed.  “How many times do I have to tell you this, Piper? You can’t tell them and you weren’t even supposed to know that Paige and Sean are my parents.  And how I feel about you now has nothing do with about how I’ll feel about you in the future I came from.”  Kian got up and went to the sink rinsed off the plate and placed it in the dishwasher.  He turned to face his aunt and frowned. “Please, let it go.”

Piper stared at her nephew and was about to speak when Phoebe walked into the kitchen with a far off look and a frown wrinkling her forehead.

Kian raised an eyebrow at Piper.  Piper shook her head slightly.

“Thanks for breakfast.  There’s something I have to do so I better get going.  Piper, please.” Kian gave her a warily expression before walking out the back door.

I didn’t interrupt anything, did I?” Phoebe asked sitting down next to Piper at the kitchen table.

“No, just the usual, me trying to figure him out,” Piper replied. “Can I fix you anything?”

Phoebe shook her head and put her hand on her stomach.  “This little one is playing havoc on me this morning.”

                Piper laughed. “Revenge is sweet.”

“Hey, not funny.” Phoebe glared at her big sister.

“It’s so nice to see you with morning sickness and not me.” Piper hugged her sister.

“So Paige hasn’t come over it,” Phoebe asked changing the subject from her morning sickness.  It seemed to make her morning sickness worst talking about it.

“No; in fact, she hasn’t come over for a couple of days.”  Piper answered her sister.  “Sean must be home.”

                Phoebe nodded her agreement.

Paige pulled the front door open to see Kian standing on the other side.  “Kian,” she gasped.

                “Hey,” Kian said nervously.

Paige raised an eyebrow at him.  “Hi. What do you want?”

“Can …um …can you give this to Sean.”  Kian held out an envelope.

Paige took it from him and saw that it was sealed and had her husbands name scribbled across the front.

Paige looked up from the envelope to find Kian gone.  Paige frowned and slowly closed the door.

She was examining the letter and wonder what was in it when a voice came from behind her.  “Who was at the door?”  Paige jump and turned around to see her very handsome husband standing there in jeans and a T-shirt with his hair all mussed on his head. She was still amazed that he still took her breath  away.

Paige handed Sean the envelope.  “Kian just dropped this off and disappeared.”

“Hmm.”  Sean tore open the envelope and pulled the note out and read it:

Sean,

Meet Me at the Pond of Knowledge.

                                    Kian

“What’s the Pond of Knowledge?” Paige asked Sean.

“It’s that pond I told you about.”  Sean stared at the note in his hand a little confused on why he needed to meet Kian there.

“Isn’t that the pond that he showed you the future?” Paige asked.

“Yeah, I guess I better get going.  I don’t know why he just didn’t tell me.  I wonder what’s with all the cloak and dagger stuff.”  Sean shrugged his shoulder and wrapped Paige in his arms and kissed her. “I love you and the girls.  Give them a kiss goodbye for me.  And I’ll be back as soon as I can, Okay.”

Paige nodded and tightened her arms around Sean’s waist.  “Please be careful.”

“Always,” Sean gave Paige one more quick kiss and flashed out.

A clear shallow pond rocked gently in the wind.  The pond was in cased on three sides by rough steep cliffs and the other side was a field of white mist

Kian leaned nonchalantly against a large boulder, his arms crossed over his chest and his legs crossed at his ankles.   He gazed into the mist lost in his thoughts when Sean flashed in beside him.

Sean frowned and stared at his relaxed stance.  “Kian, what’s the big mystery?”

Kian shrugged and straightened to his full height which was equal to Sean’s six feet four height.  “It was simpler than explaining to your wife that I’m about to take you to alternate realities.”

Alternate Realities?” Sean asked surprised and maybe a little nervous.

Kian smiled.  This was a new experience for him because growing up his dad never let on if he was scared or nervous. Kian remembered his dad having so much confidence in everything he did.

“We’re going into the mist and —,”

Going into the mist! You said never to go into the mist.” Sean said cutting Kian off before Kian could even explained any further.

Kian chucked and looked at Sean, like he was seeing him for the first time.  “I know I told you not to go in the mist.  I didn’t want you to get lost in some other reality.”  Kian explained, as though he was talking to a child who needed to be reinsured.

Kian could see Sean regaining his composure and shot him and angry look.  Kian smiled and he enjoyed being on a little higher ground than his father.  He was the one in charge for a change.  Kian knew it was every child’s dream to be able to have a little power over one’s parents, even if Sean had no clue who Kian really is and what he was doing to save his future.

Kian clapped Sean’s shoulder, “Come on.”

They walk into the swirling white mist.  Sean felt a wave of dizziness he had no sense of direction any longer. He couldn’t even see his hand in front of his face.  He felt Kian grab his upper arm and pulled him forward.  He thought he was about to go mad with uncertainty when the mist cleared and they were standing in front of the Halliwell Manor.

“So where are we?” Sean asked, looking around.  “That looks like the Manor.”

“It is the Manor,” Kian said simply.  “However, it isn’t your Halliwell Manor.”

Sean glanced over to Kian and back to the Manor when the front door opened and a woman with long brown hair stepped out.  She was holding the hand of a little girl around six or seven with long brown hair just like the woman.  There was no mistaken that this little girl was the woman’s daughter.

A man with brown hair and holding a little boy that looked like he was about three, stepped out on the porch and took the little girls other hand and they walk down the stairs together.  They made a perfect picture of a family.

“Prue,” mumbled Sean.

“Yes,” said Kian, “I believe so, but who’s the man with her?”

Sean smiled remembering the photos that Piper had showed him shortly after joining the family.  “That’s Andy and he is Prue’s true love.”

“I don’t remember him from our reality.  Did he not remain friends with Piper and Phoebe after their sister was killed?”

“In our reality, he was killed by a demon that was helping the demon Tempus to destroy the Charmed Ones.  My understanding of the story is that Andy sacrificed himself to save the girls.”

“Obviously he didn’t do it in this reality.  He looks to be Prue’s husband.”  Kian paused and watched the family come closer.  “Are you going to ask them or am I?”

When Prue was even with them, Sean cleared his dry throat and spoke.  “Excuse me.” Prue stop and turned to him “Yes?”

“Umm…are you a Charmed One?” Sean asked her cautiously.

Prue narrowed her eyes and study them intensely.  Sean was sure she was determining whether she could trust them or not.  Prue looked Sean in the eyes without blinking “Yes.  Why?”

Sean let out a sigh of relief.  “I’m Sean O’Hara and I’m the King of the Druids.”

Prue turned to her husband.  “Honey, we better go back into the house.”  She then turned back to Sean and Kian.  “Come with us into the Manor.”

Sean nodded.  “Thank you.”  Sean and Kian followed Prue and her family back into the Manor.

Kian shut the door and he heard Prue yell for her sisters.  He was a tad overwhelmed meeting his Aunt Prue, the legend for the first time.  He’d heard stories all his life but nothing compared to actually meeting her.

Kian and Sean shared a look when Piper and Leo emerged from the kitchen and Phoebe came from upstairs.  Sean was amazed on how much that they look just like the Piper and Phoebe of his reality.  He thought that they would be different because Prue was still alive but they look and acted the same; Amazing.

“What’s wrong?” Piper questioned her older sister and then she spotted Sean and Kian.  “Who are they?”

Prue looked at her sister.  “He claims to be the King of the Druids.”

Sean step forward with his hand stretched out in greeting.  “I’m Sean O’Hara, and this is…,” he gestured to Kian, “…my associate, Kian Coleman.  We’ve come hoping you could help us.” He dropped his hand when neither Piper, Leo or Phoebe took it.

“Come from where?” Phoebe asked them.

“We’ve came form another reality,” Kian offered.

The Charmed Ones and Leo stared at them as though they grew another head.

Leo stepped forward.  “You claim you’re the King of the Druid but I know the King of the Druid and you are not him; in fact, you are his grandson.”

Sean couldn’t hide his shock and he could hardly speak over the lump in his throat.  “Are my family still alive?”

Leo gave him a strange look.  “Yes, they are.  I just talk to your grandfather a few days ago.”

Sean swung around to face Kian and spoke through clenched teeth.  “You never said that my family might still be alive in some of the other realities.”

“Sean, Your Royal Highness, I knew there could be a possibility but you can’t visit them. So there was no need to mention it.”

“I’ll decide what is important, not you,” snapped Sean.

“I afraid you won’t, sir.  You can’t visit them.”  Sean glared at him.  “Think about it sir, if the Sean of this reality happens to see you, he could mistake you for a demon and try to vanquish you and if he does…” Kian shook his head, “… I hope I don’t have to explain the ramification if that should occur.”

Sean closed his eyes and sighed.  “And Paige?”

“Your Highness, this is not the place to discuss her.”  Kian gave his father a stern look.

                “Who’s Paige?” Piper questioned them.

“My wife,” Sean said sadly, “At least in my reality.”

“We are here to see if you’ve dealt with the Avatars and if you have, if you possible have a vanquishing potion?” Kian said trying to get them back on why they are there in the first place.

“No, are they upper level demons?” Prue asked them.

“No,” Sean said trying not to let his disappointment show. “I’m sorry we’ve bothered you.”

“Whoa, wait you can’t just drop in here ask us something like that then leave.” Prue informed them.

“I’m sorry if you’ve not dealt with them than you cannot help us.  We really do not have time to waste with long explanation or small talk.  We really need to get going.” Kian told her before grabbing Sean’s arm and pulling him towards the door.

Kian was about to reach for the door when Piper called to them.  “Hey, do you know us in your reality?” Sean turned and looked at them. “Yes, I know the Charmed Ones of my reality.  It was nice meeting all of you but we really must go because we’re running out of time.”

Kian opened the door and allowed Sean to go ahead of him. “What do we do now?”

“We try another reality.” Kian replied coming up beside him.

“Oh great,” Sean looked back at the Manor.  He wondered if they would ever know Paige.  He also knew that the only way they would meet Paige is if one of them died.  He shook his head shaking that thought out of his head.

“Come on,” Kian said breaking into his thoughts.  “This was a bust.”  Kian flashed out.

“Yeah, sort of but I did learn that Prue and my family still are alive in other realities.  The Source’s minions didn’t kill them. They are still living their life here.”  Sean whispered and smiled as he flashed out.
