TLC - Crazy, Sexy, Cool is what makes this r&b trio one of the best-selling groups ever in history.  TLC, Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, Rozanda "Chilli" Thomas, and Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, came from troubled roots of Atlanta.  They came from homes with no fathers, many problems, and little money. All they had were their talents of voice, dance, and rhythm.  In 1992, the three girls, T-Boz, Chilli, Left Eye, came together to form TLC.

In less then a decade, TLC sold more than 27 million records and 9 million singles, sold out concerts worldwide, won five Soul Train awards, five Grammys, and five MTV awards, making them the biggest-selling female group.  Their music, unique style,
and talent has impacted mainstream music and it's listeners. Their strong lyrics are sure to influence their listeners.  On a track Girl Talk, TLC represented all females, letting guys know that word will spread if their men don't perform up to expectation in the bedroom.  On TLC's album, FANMAIL, their track No Scrubs was a track which explicitly bashed the male sex.  However, the members of TLC had their problems during their bumpy road to the top.

During TLC's ride to the top, Rozanda "Chilli" Thomas became pregnant.  She decided to keep the baby as the father of the baby was not by her side.  In 1996,after rumors were spreading that she had AIDS, Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, was diagnosed with Sickle Cell Anemia, a blood disease.  T-Boz wants all of her fans not to be sorry for her, but to be educated about this disease.  Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes had her fair share of problems also, with alcohol and a turbulent personal life. One day in 1994 during a fight, Left Eye burned her boyfriend's, Andre Risen, mansion.

The end to many problems were far from near, as one of the most-tragic events for TLC came along on April 25, 2002.  Lopes was in Honduras for a retreat, but on April 25, her SUV drove off a highway and hit two trees, killing Lopes on impact.

This was not an easy time for T-Boz, Chilli, and the TLC fans across the world.  Over 18,000 fans would show up to Lopes' funeral to pay their respects.

Even after all the struggles that TLC has been through, their impact on listeners and the music culture is one of a kind.  From hits such as Creep, Waterfalls, and Damaged, the legacy of TLC will live forever.
